Please, please, use a high quality locking carabiner. You wouldn't risk you boat using a square knot to hold an anchor line, don't risk a fall with the wrong biner. Good video as always :)
Sam, your channel inspired me to learn how to sail and buy a bluewater boat. Just signed up for my first lessons and got a job to save for the boat. Smooth sailing!
For future reference, if you use a lot of the glow in the dark filament, you'll bore out the brass nozzle surprisingly fast. So if you start having bad quality prints, remember that nozzles should be considered as a consumable. Thats a hard issue to troubleshoot
Nice progress Sam. You are an inspiration. One note: The ball or other fitting on the end of a whip antenna is called a "corona ball." One purpose of this ball is to dissipate static electricity which can damage your radio. I'm not sure if it would make that much difference on a sailboat with the other stuff that generates static electricity. Just thought I'd share the info.
Yo up Sam my dad was Sam Parsons , I never new him he left this planet early at 24 years old . I was 2 years old . Hey Sam I’m praying for you man your cool and brave . Ready for gods challenge .
Sam the boat looks great, so impressed by the way you've done all this work, and the positive attitude you face whatever problems you encounter. Good luck in the coming weeks.
Consider adding a layer of tape around the antenna just above the windex to keep the windex from getting blown to the top of the antenna. At 30kts the windex can go to the stopper at the top of the antenna and waggle around enough to quickly fatigue the metal of the whip antenna and break it. Sounds crazy but it happened to mine.
Sam, instead of mirrors to watch your bow movement, have you thought about mounting a bow-cam. Blue-toothed to your phone or a small monitor in the cab. or both. It would cost little money
About the end of your stay on public dock, where to? SailPack replacement? Bilge covers float? Latch held them down no? Glow in the dark filament nice, start labeling what to print next. Edge of hatch WindVane ends Table corners. Was thinking mohagony v. PlyWood pipe berth: it's the epoxy resin as much as cross grain... I was reading on salvage, prize, etc and false flags during war time (started from Trafalgar and booty term caught me eye) if ask for assistance and get some may be giving ownership lien of boat, to rescuers... I'm still not sure she will stay afloat, but I'm a depressive, therefore pesimist (sp?), Opposite optimist, aka realist. Like the task board, with some nautical terminology makes more sense. Been several decades since I sailed, and taught a little. Newer tech came along, foils, d* materials, sailpacks, solar became more affordable, etc. Transition to shop was a jump 🦘... Lookaround from mast head may have been fun, see neighborhood, as it were, few drone shots since moving boat with truck.
You sound tired and stressed, to me. Take your time - there's always next year. I think the two things every solo-sailor needs are 1) crew and 2) another boat.
Your boat's looking really nice Sam stay safe always out there on the water you do have people out here that care about you and you have a lot of fans I'm one of them good to see you doing good hope to meet you one day that would be awesome anyways take care and God bless I'll be here waiting for your next video. Watching from Roseville California USA Ray Garrett
Hey Sam why didn't you do the majority of this work when the boat was still out of the water? It seems to me like it would have been a lot easier to accomplish most of this list while the boat was in the back of your shop. I'm sure there is a logical answer or maybe you just dying to get back on the water. LOL
Hey Sam, I'd advise a locking carabiner on that ascender. Love the channel.

Was about to say the same thing.
@@rjohnson80100 yup
Defo invest in carabiner rated for climbing.
I would have printed the urine funnel with the glow filament. 😄

Good luck man 🙌🏻
Step 3 - create a youtube channel
I'm actually doing the exact same thing
It's.a great channel cheers Sam ☮️
Start small then get a bigger boat small boats sail the same and are a lot cheaper
She floats!!!! Good to see you back on Pickle the first night she is back in the brine. Thanks for sharing Sam.
For future reference, if you use a lot of the glow in the dark filament, you'll bore out the brass nozzle surprisingly fast. So if you start having bad quality prints, remember that nozzles should be considered as a consumable. Thats a hard issue to troubleshoot
Cant get stronger nozzles??
This is great advice. Had the same issue on mine when the print quality got horrible. Swapped nozzles and it started working like new

Wow: Cleat Bulkhead Hangars, 3D printing, tutorial on CAD, and courtesy flags. One word description: AWESOME!
Sam the boat looks great, so impressed by the way you've done all this work, and the positive attitude you face whatever problems you encounter. Good luck in the coming weeks.
Nice to be on the water! No boat is ever really finished, right?! 😉👍👍
Awesome work!
Cant wait to see you on the open water again,
Keep it real and stay safe man!!

Nice!!! Love the list!!! Man I want to go sailing!!! Thank you and it looks great so far!!
My favorite channel
Looks like things are coming along nicely!
The boat looks amazing!
Love the cleats-as-hooks-idea :)
What an interesting mode of transportation, sailboat fuel=wind, you don't have to worry about running out of gas.😊
Awesome Sam 👏👍 take yr time gettin ready pls !!😊⛵
Looking good!
Great job, Sammo!
happy to see the progress!
I see a nice Croatia flag there. We've been here for 3 years and will be here for 1 more. Hope you make it here before we leave.
Why would you not do a thorough detailed cleaning within all of those repairs and upgrades?
Love your videos. I’ve never sailed, so I don’t have any unsolicited advice for you
9:50 Oh man! Looks like you might be sailing to the Azores!
I'd love to see that voyage! :]
Sam I’m learning life lessons from you brother completely inspiring. When will you set sail?
So you are planing to sail up to us in Scandinavia. Looking forward to see you in Stockholm :)
Almost ready hell yeah !!!
⛵❤👍
Any plans to stop by Poland? There is a Tall Ship Races event being held in Szczecin, right at the border with Germany from July 31st to August 4th.

that flag collection is awesome
Make sure that carabiner is rated properly, a lot of those are just for keychains and not supporting lots of weight.
Famous last words: "I put them on temporary and switch them later"
Put the proper bolts in the guard rail station as you only put temporary screws in it.
re sole boards,etc... imagine your boat at 90degrees or upside down...and then what needs to be held down...
make some kind of glow in dark thingy so you can see the compass at night since there is no light in it, like a half dome shield over it
I am big on all these new videos!!
Looks like unwrapping Christmas packages! How cool is that?
Looking great 👍 ⛵️⛵️😘
Back on the water! Lookin great apart from that carabiner, please swap that out for something more suitable.
6 Months of Work to do in 2 days....................All hands on Deck.........
Always put a screw gate karabiner on your harness......
Do you bush the holes where the wires pass into the mast?
I wish I could move that fast when fighting my mainsail back on the boom......
Your videos really are the best! Can't wait to see you back on the ocean 🤍
Another Nice one. Did I see the Norwegian flag there? ETA?
Sam are you brining the 3d printer with, in case parts break
I’m looking to purchase a westerly bilge keel . I hope too meet you in the wind someday .
I so wish I was at this stage. See the stage I am at if you dare.
Sam...was that a keychain carabiner?
Welcome in 🇳🇱😀
Where abouts in UK you headed for Mr Sam

Nice 👍
did you get a new impeller and an impeller removal tool wtf
Rather than cutting that thing for the rope...why not 3D print a a rope guide?
You sound tired and stressed, to me. Take your time - there's always next year.
I think the two things every solo-sailor needs are 1) crew and 2) another boat.
Come on, Sam, I'm looking forward to raising the Croatian flag.
Shiter in the front love it
At 1:49, you forgot to include sleep! Get some rest before you embark on the big trip!
I keep Telling you Never Sez coumpound on your bolts
