    There’s no way you’re living paycheck to paycheck as an electrician unless 1)work is slow or 2)you aren’t taking every job you can. Blue collar workers are vital to our country’s infrastructure and economy.

    I work with some Gen Z's, their work ethics would have to be 10 times better, just too stink...the only bright side is that once the Boomers retire, unemployment should go way down...because for every Boomer that retires, they will have to hire 4 Gen Z's to replace them, to do the same job

    Teacher here... and I will give you my perspective on things. There is a whole younger generation that is being told they need to feel good and get exactly what they want, at all times, immediately. They are entitled, lack perspective and empathy, and are coddled horribly.
    They also believe that they should go through life never having to hear or witness someone having a different opinion from their own. They become emotionally wrecked if they are ever challenged, reprimanded, or given a consequence.
    And it's not all their fault. You have parents that are not involved or invested in their children. The solution is to put an ipad infront of their faces from the time they are a baby.
    It is so sad.

      Well said. That aside. Where do they think all the things and amenities they enjoy came about? The car, the house, the tree for the shade, clothes on their backs, etc. Somebody before they were born made sure to leave that legacy. How are they creating a better world for future generations?

    • @No-sv6mu
      @No-sv6mu 4 місяці тому +4

      @PinkClouds3835 they don't care about the next generation. This younger generation is so focused on what they want and how they need it right now. There is no thought of building a life. They think everything amazing should be given to them because they exist. The look of horror on my middle school students faces when I told them I work multiple jobs to help pay for what my family needs, and our wants, was very telling. They couldn't comprehend that we sacrifice alot, go without, and save for years for things like our children's sports, cars, vacations, and right now even food.

    I hate this misconception that people think that having a spoiled child hood, with everything given to you by your parents, gives you a better opportunity to live a good life in the future, simply because you didn’t experience anything traumatic. It doesn’t matter how you started in this world, it’s either you become a victim or you actually do something with your life.

    The reason why nobody is doing the trades is because they don't pay a living wage. I do commercial HVAC work doing sheet metal. It's hard work in the Arizona heat. You'd think it pays well but it doesn't. Trades are only going to get worse if the Pay doesn't match. On top of that we're pushing everyone to be an entrepreneur like it's a life style that you work 2 hours a month and earn seven figures. It does not work that way.

    They don't want to work hard because throughout their childhood they were never pushed to work hard. Anything they tried, they would get "participation" ribbons so they wouldn't "feel bad.". They were rewarded no matter how hard they tried and learned it didn't matter how they did. Now they've grown up with that mindset thinking they can get whatever they want with no effort. They don't understand they need to "pay their dues."

    I like the quote, sometimes you need to do. In fact I totally agree with this, these days now, young adult doesn’t understand the work ethic and hard working, you need to do to progress up the ladder of success. In England, I work for nhs hospital and I shift work which involves night and day. I enjoy my work. I know there always sacrifices myself not spending time with daughter, I like to. I do approximately spend 1 or 2 times a week as me and her mum was separated few years now. However remain friend and communicate well. I have admit always question regarding spending with my daughter. The reason I work my hardest within the job because i am doing it for my daughter, so she can do something fun and love to do . Obviously passionate for the job. I do 5 or 6 days including overtime shift. I work really hard for . My mindset is, keep your head down and do the work, I don’t care about others doing and thinking . My priorities in job are my patients, my first priority always be my daughter as well
    I am trying day this, I don’t think most of young adult I have seen, are not willing to work hard and effort as I do, with their mindset- they couldn’t survive for a week in hospital. They just give up too quickly. I do understand about the living of cost and today world is so expensive and cruel especially with their mental health. I get that. I do have empathetic toward them as well. I am not saying all young adult are like that and they not all bad. I think we need teach them work ethic and good member of society. I teach my daughter with work ethic like cleaning the house with me and basic chores which she love it. It like most fun thing . She has done! I do give some reward for that. My advice is that, if you want to have something, you have to work hard for it.

    Try to go through a trade skill program while working a full time job. It can't be done. The trade school programs are 8 hours per day, 5 days per week for 1 year. Your regular job would be another 8 per day, not even considering travel time and preparation. Our society does not facilitate education and training for working adults that want to take a step up in life. It's a fundamentally flawed society that heavily punishes not being in the right place at the right time.

Replace me me me me with life life life life, then you will be onto something. CPS and other jobs need to have strict hiring processes to only get the best of the best who actually and truly care about their jobs and know what they are doing. Any jobs that are dealing with the important aspects of peoples future and health need to have really strict hiring processes to make sure that bad apples get weeded out, and that if any slip through and get caught that they are severely prosecuted, and that includes bosses, managers, CEOs and the works.

      How is it any different than boomers though? The 70's was literally called "The Me Decade" because of how outrageously self-absorbed and entitled people were. The Gen Zers don't want to work because they saw their families work hard for companies only to end up with nothing. The hippies were just lazy. They grew up in the era where company loyalty meant something and hard work actually paid off.

The fallacy of the innocent past causes one to see themselves in the best possible light ignoring the fact that they were harboring the darkest evil in the depths of their heart. You can never know what evil lurks inside someone. The greatest corruption exists at the highest level of wealth and responsibility.
