I'm a MSU Spartans and I have to admit I turned off the game in the 3rd qtr because I was pissed with their performance. I turned the game back on late in the 4th qtr MSU was trailing only by 7 and I was shocked and then tied the game and won with a field goal. It was unbelievable.
Greatest comeback EVER point wise and effort wise. God as my witness I was at work and even when it was 38-3 I told a co- worker we were gonna come back and we did! Spartans have the most talked about college football game EVER (10-10 tie with ND in 1966) the most famous college basketball game ever (MSU v. ISU i.e. Magic v. Bird) and the greatest comeback in college football history. Sorry UM but it looks like the Spartans are the Victors and Best lol!!
It probably was. Northwestern had a terrible year and just wanted to win a few games, while Michigan State was looking to become bowl eligible. Northwestern later went on to play a close game to a talented Michigan team, losing only 17-3, but Michigan State didn't make a bowl game.
Not to take anything away from Michigan State, but I am baffled that anyone could fall down 35 points to a Northwestern team that had a 4-8 (2-6 Big10) record. Never should have happened. I pick Michigan's 2003 comeback against Minnesota because 1. Minnesota was actually a powerhouse team 2. John Navarre was almost perfect in the fourth quarter 3. Michigan scored 31 points in the fourth 4. Minnesota didn't just collapse. They continued to move the ball consistently and scored another TD
Nick Heebsh but look at Msu that year, John L Smith was probably their worst coach in the history of that program. They were dropping passes left and right that game. Even worse is a decent coach would ride that comeback into later games but John L was so terrible, Msu went on a 4 game losing streak to end the season. They had talent but John L couldn't coach the talent.
Normally, I'd agree with you, but given the circumstances, it was close. This was a terrible Northwestern team that was taken to the woodshed by I-AA New Hampshire and were four to five touchdown underdogs, given the circumstances, 17-3 was relatively close.

Who leads the series? Who has more national championship, sorry to tell you but michigan is better
@@raybrown1827 In the modern era (since 1950), MSU has more national championships. Oh, and UM lost again

"they drop eight into coverage and Stanton is still killing them!" It's a classic game now.
I loved watching Stanton run.
This is why you don't mess with drew stanton. Someday he'll be a starting qb in the super bowl. If Grossman can do it Stanton damn sure can too
Bad news from the future
Oof
I’m so sorry
Thats a great pick that the Lions made he is there future Quarterback
Downriverkid this commet has aged well
I would have loved to see what Stanton could have done under Mark dantonio.
If he had the team Cook had
Seems like they have a history of blocking punts.

YOU BLEW IT!!!!!!!
Brett Swenson was an awesome Spartan
very nice video man..... did you do the editing yourself? either way big props to you
The Falcons blew 28-3 lead but the wildcats blew a 38-3 lead
I thought the falcons collapse was bad but this is a whole new level of collapse
This is basically a college form of “The Comeback” without all of the postseason implications to it.
I loved the MSU offense during this period. Just wish they could have played defense
Can sobmeone please tell me why he is still a secon string i just don't understand it. The Lions were stupid to let him go.
Drew Stanton FTW!
That must be very frustrating for Northwestern
That is flat out embarrassing

This is why you are suppose to never give up and play at a High Caliber.
how the heck did this happen?
Haha wow crazy game.
Northwestern is just terrible...
@BLEEDGREENGOMSU ehemm** 8-0, 5th in the nation...
go green baby!!
@wowthese can ayone say they got the living crap beat out of them
Why even upload a video with such horrible quality? Baffling.
Barnhart24 the game was broadcasted on ESPN Plus, which is terrible quality to begin with. I watched the game live and trust me, it wasn't much better
