people really have to give Seiyuus some slack. they work in an industry as unforgiving as Hollywood. I hope people give them basic respect they deserve

For sure. And even Hollywood actors don't have to act like idols for their work and they aren't expected to be able to sing (though some can and I know some acting schools teach singing)

I was really fearing something like freetalk from a BL event. Thankfully it was not that, but it was still somewhat an uncomfortable setting. It sure is difficult to be a seiyuu; you have to be a bit of an idol and attend events outside of the regular voice work. Most seiyuu can sing and are expected to for a role. And then you have the fanboys/girls who take it too far.
Thank you for your hard work translating this.

Wow, that's actually a really cool and effective way to help someone
I wonder who's the one said that, now I'm curious
    Can't be Sugibro right? xD

In the absence of a professional writer, the ones in-charge can at least talk to them or let them know before the recording just so they have a clue on what might go down, and what changes can be made to avoid such undesirable moments. Plus it's not really a free talk if they're almost forced to answer and talk 😅

it's a small thing, but i thought it was timely of mafia to raise the issue of those questions not being prepped by a professional writer (with him as a writer himself). seiyuus have evolved into a separate celebrity culture with a fanbase of their own, and i'm sure fans would love to know more about their favourite VAs, but i think some of these writers are approaching seiyuus with the same curiousity as a tabloid writer would. many of these voice actors are esteemed performers in their own right, but it seems that some still regard them without the same amount of tact or professionalism as they would, say, an a-list actor.

I don't really get the "younger brother" part. Why was what he said considered heavy? :O
