    Hi, Dr Lisa Feldman Barrett.
Thank you for some interesting talks and videos. I would like to offer my congratulations, not only on the publishing of your book and these lectures, but also on ALMOST catching up with what I have been teaching personal/spiritual development classes for close to FORTY years.
Since the very early 1980s, I have been about as sure as I believe it is possible to be on this physical plane without scientific proof that emotions are a function of the MIND, as distinct from the brain, and that what are commonly called feelings are simply the result of experiencing an emotion with sufficient power to cause a physical response in the body.
As I see it, emotions are a choice, almost always influenced by learning from past experiences but nevertheless a choice. Emotions often occur so quickly that we are not aware of any thought processes leading to the emotion. This would be learned responses at work.
Just my 0.02. Thanks again for these talks.
You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.
