The 2025 Geely Coolray Sport has arrived in the Philippines, and even though it has not launched yet, we get a first look at this subcompact crossover. In this Filipino car review, we take a tour of the new Geely Coolray Sport, to see if it has made enough changes to be relevant in today's times. The Geely Coolray was the crossover that opened the doors to Chinese car acceptance here in the Philippines, and it would be interesting to see what sort of changes were made to the 2025 Geely Coolray to see if it is still relevant. The 2025 Geely Coolray Sport is the top-spec trim of the Geely Coolray here in the Philippines, and the Geely Coolray price is still the same as before, at P1,299,000. There are a lot of options in this price level already, like the GAC Emzoom, the Ford Territory, the Chery Tiggo 7 pro, and the MG ZS Trophy, plus some hybrid options like the Nissan Kicks, and the Toyota Corolla Cross and Toyota Yaris Cross. The geely Coolray Sport is still one of the best-looking, but let's not forget the Lynk & Co 06, which is also the Geely Coolray's mechanical twin.

Geely should focus on their after sale services, they have great cars that is value for money but if your after sale services sucks, everything sucks.
the sales agent told me, there(GAIC) just logging the back logs, and ironing the details, and by the and of this month we(geely owners) will have our spare parts arrive much quicker.
Why do car manufacturers love to remove fog lights? Do they not know how important it is?
Because they claim their lowbeams and highbeams are just as good

I still love the design of the Emzoom.
I was about to buy this not until the new geely after sales issue came out. Worst part is it’s the same exact issue as the first one. Just so scary, liked everything about the new coolray pa naman.

You should check out the JAC line up. The JS4, JS6, JS8. The JS4 luxury especially at 995k.

At least there is that 4cyl engine, but price wise, it does fight it off with GAC emzoom in terms of value for money
All nice, all beautiful, all excited - but what is all this good for if they do not launch it? What is the reason for that? At the official Geely Phillipines web site you can find this statement under the news item:
"The wait is finally over. The much-anticipated new Coolray has already been released from Philippine port by end of August 2024. This awesome SUV can already be seen up-close by car enthusiasts and excited fans in Geely dealerships near them come second week of September 2024!"
This statement was released September 4th already!!
Today is Oct 13th and we can still not buy this exciting car!

@@overlordmoto9576 Yes - I know. But only a few, mostly onhand or with some special dealer in Manila. But you can not get one officially nationwide - and again: this is a kind of strange. I never seen such a campain before. Why do they put all the units already in the showrooms?
There you can only have a view - no testdrive, no purchase !
And another point: why are this units mostly only available in white color? My local dealer here told me they are waiting for 17 announced units - all in white!
What I do not understand: This Model of Coolray is not really a new model! It is selling since at least one year in many other coyntries like Chile, Russia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Serbia - why not in the philippines?

Mas maganda pa din yung gen1. Classic ang datingan.
That 4 cylinder is the same engine as the emgrand, but they slapped turbo into it.
Does it still have the paddle shifters of the sport?..
no paddle shifters anymore, nor tiptronic (manual) mode
i was at geely makati earlier today for my pms, and got the chance to see it... i'll be honest, i wasn't impressed. i still like the gen1 (with the fog lamps). it now doesn't have a paddle shifter, nor a tiptronic mode. it also doesn't have the adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking. autohold can now only be enabled via headunit. it does have rear aircon vents and a 4-cylinder engine, and wired apple carplay as well as wireless charging. overall, it really lags behind the GAC emzoom gs3, unfortunately.

Not gonna say that the ommisions arent glaring, I mean facelifts are about addition not subtraction. But i think i know the reason. Compared to the 2019 model, economies snd supply chains were upended since this first launched with price increases in its wake. Additionally the more sensitive auto journalists and customers kept complaining about the 3cylinder engine. So to accomodate it and the inclusion of third party phone mirroring sftware in a completly redesigned headunit and guage cluster, all those things cost a bit.
