- The second day of free agency brought nothing but Garrett Temple for the Toronto Raptors who remain locked into a roster that doesn't make sense right now. With plenty of flexibility to maneuver the gaps around Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley and RJ Barrett, with promising young players like Ja'Kobe Walter, Gradey Dick and Jonathan Mogbo now on board, there's one thing that is becoming VERY obvious - if Scottie Barnes doesn't get a lot better, the Toronto Raptors are going to struggle immensely to generate offense. And with a roster like theirs, with defensive gaps galore, unlike with their 2022 roster, defense won't be able to bail them out.
The Raptors are making a bet on Scottie Barnes. Sink or swim.

They currently have 14 roster spots after bringing back Temple, if they waive Freedom-Liberty whos deal isn't guaranteed, they can sign Shead to a guaranteed deal and have room for one more player.

I keep saying for any of us who were happy the Raptors drafted Chomche, we seriously nres to temper our expectations. Too many youtube channels trying to make him into some sort of Giannis prospect. There isn't freakish physical talent there. Decent size and athleticism along with what looks like catch and shoot ofd the 3 ball, some rebounding and shot blocking. Not quick at reading the offense or defense though.
Raptors are likely just looking to see progress in g league next 2 years and hopefully in his 3rd or 4th year he can be your big ofd the bench. For a 50s pick thats a good outcome. If he were a starter eith that skillset we would have been a big winner in the draft.
Lets be fair to the youngest and rawest player ik the nba and just hope he can stick sround the league. Anything more than that is gravy.

This Toronto.. what moves were we expecting to make? Im just personally not surprised. We back into develop our own talent phaze which is what we should always be. Its clear we trying to stay young, develop an hope one of these guys hit to pair wit scottie on an AllStar level. At worst we develop them to be stars in their roles. Im very patient right now for all this. Lets play it out an develop our guys. See what happens!

Honestly, this roster doesn't make sense...Brown, Poetl, Boucher should not be part of Toronto Raptors.. I'm still waiting patiently for Masai 2 do something. If u ask me what Raptors should do, simple..clear cap space for 2025, get as much compensation draft picks for 2025. Free up money 2 get Lauri Markkanen, also draft high 2025, top 5 pick, u can get a very talented player. Lastly, if u have enough money, Naz Reid is free agent in 2025, his underrated player and a winner..

@@pensarebasketball imo there's a couple guys that have the incentive to be traded here and have a career resurrections, guys like Kuzma, Simmons and Lavine want that opportunity of reevaluation before the time runs out on their current deals. This is bargain bin diving but this is also a bargain bin year.
