Chris of clickspring i bet would love to talk to you about this amazing clock.
Can u make a longer version of it working??... Its so mesmerizing
are you selling these clocks
@@poke6983 agreed, it would be great to see, Jesus Christ the sovereign God loves you my friend 😊
@@joshua2400 too late im an atheist now
I can imagine a giant version of this thing would be responsible for the flow of time in some sort of fantasy movie
let me yoink that for my future game (Dead Time), wanted a tower clock before seeing this
@@ZedDevStuff if your gonna copy or be inspired by the mechanism shown here please give credit to the creator just a friendly reminder brother.

With the music it makes it seem like a major plot point in a movie where the main character creates a self powering machine
Lmfao this is so accurate
I know right
The all powerful mcguffin
To me it really sounded like Game of Thrones music. I couldn't stop thinking of Light of the Seven.
Yup
Now imagine whole thing in casted, painted bronze and wood... My steampunk loving heart would melt...
painted brass?
@@pacman10182 yes
@@flameendcyborgguy883
I think brass is not possible yet. I have seen professional printers doing aluminium and steel. But these work on another technology than 3D printers for home use and they are very expensive.
But you can get filaments with wood in it that make the parts really look like wood and you can get filaments that imitate any metal look really well.
@@flameendcyborgguy883 why not blued metal with oxidation?
@@oldineamiller9007 i mean, brass, aplay paint onto brass? Like not paint with brass, but paint brass in certain areas over.
Amazing! Congrats on being the first (other than Mechanistic ;) ) to get this 3D printed and working! :) - Rob
hehe, well i did have a bit of a lead haha. such an awesome creation!
This is the kind of thing you will find encased in a mana-imbued glass in the center of a museum containing all sorts of magical artifact in fantasy stories.
Most likely called sth like eternal watch idk
My gear geek is screaming pleasure
The fact he provisioned those fitting templates is very clever & handy. You can test and immediatly print the whole batch of parts needed.
Am I the only engineer here that wants to now build a whole other Tri-Axial Tourbillon design from scratch
Not even an engineer (atleast yet, I want to be one day) but I am dying to know.
@@Thanos-hp1mw Ack, maybe I shouldn't have said that then. While I am a certified 2 year DE it is not the path I followed (4-year PE+). I eventually wound up becoming a 3D modeler after falling in love with the creative freedom offered by programs like Blender and Zbrush. All the fun, none of the math. Though building Tri-Axial would be a great time-consuming project to dust off some of the old skills.
I don't know what that is but it sounds cool
P U T I S PENSER HERE
Man...are you interested? How about we use cad? I have some ideas.
You have 3D printed the spring too... I am speechless.
The engineer who designed this is what hope to be one day after years of experience
Love the quality of your video production! The symmetrical parts arrangement on the build plate and perfectly tuned print settings are extremely satisfying to watch!
Appreciate the huge amount of effort going into this project!
Nothing to thank me for, this video only exists thanks to your very hard and impressive work and i am very proud that i could be a part of the launch. You did such an amazing job that it's just mind blowing. Thank you for the nice words and i look forward to printing more of your amazing creations!
I am not a watch nerd, but that is a work of art. Beautiful piece of mechanics.
Oh god, I love steampunk too much to leave this without a like! God damn all it needs are little lights, an old metal look and I'd be dying here. Damn that's good
This is the sort of thing that makes me wish I was rich enough for a 3d printer
They aren't too expensive. You can even make your own for pretty cheap
Do some research on which printer to get and it's only $300 for the printer, a good set of filaments and any tools needed for repairs or modification
During this last Black Friday, the Anycubic i3 Mega S went on sale for like $180. It's a very reasonable starter printer. I have 2, and have been using them for years. 3D printing is not prohibitively expensive like it was years ago.
lol, "only" $300, "only" $180, I can't even afford Elden Ring to try and post relevant content.
@@heliostxg2235 you could make money from that printer, so yeah it's "only"
OMG!!! This is totally stunning! It's hard to describe how big the WOW in our heads is now shouting. Congrats to this absolutely mind-blowing print. Also kudos to the designer! Epic, just totally epic!
Every so often, I come back to this video for the music, hoping someone has a source. When this video first released, it sure didn't have one in the description.
Imagine my joy, then, when I check back in again, and there it is. There's the link. I bought the song immediately. Thank you for linking the source.
This just popped up in my recommendations but this was amazing. Though I can't understand anything besides the fact that it's a clock XD
That’s all that matters :)
02:31 waiting for him to explain this wonderful thing
Now imagine one of those, hand crafted and finished, on a space that fits on your wrist. That's true art
Beautiful. Definitely art by my standards. It doesn't matter the pieces weren't made by hand; there was a creative mind that created the design and understood the pieces in order to assemble the whole thing. There is artistic intent, there is skill involved, it has an emotional response from me (surprise and the idea of mechanical beauty), so yes, it is a piece of art
I watched the video last night. And You've already made it. Bad ass!
You, Sir, have way more patience than I do. Very well done!
haha, yeah that's the one thing i do have a lot of lol
Love the mechanism... So gorgeous.
But I love that hand tattoo even more 😎
This is beautiful, the engineering, the desing, everything so ellegant. You are awesome!
This is absolutely beautiful time piece. Wish to see a giant version of it with metal parts.
Unbelievable... Only one word can describe this design. Genius.. Great video Joe as always
thanks brother
This is the most mind-blowing and amazing masterpiece ever . Congrats !
I dont know if people even realize how complex this clock is.
This is a twin barrel powered tri axial tourbillon with flyback hands. This had 3 damn complication.
I really want to go deeper and derive a perpetual calendar from it. Actually it wouldnt be that difficult but i wont be able to gather the elegance of this piece.
Well designed and built ! Bravo !
Brings back fond memories of assembling 2500 piece jigsaw puzzles. This clock probably takes as many days as those, if you count the printing time.
Nice project! 🧩👍🏻
That is so cool! The mechanism in its history is absolutely mind blowing too! It in watch size is just a marvel in engineering.
So many gears rotating at exactly the same time makes me feel so relieved
So so so backing this and going to print one for myself.
you won't regret it i assure you
@@3DMakerNoob I've been wanting it since it was first hinted... My challenge is going to be the small rods and picking colors
the way this guy constructed it literally made my mind blow into pieces
WOW JOE! It's been a long while since I've watched one of your videos. The last video I think I saw of yours was when you and your family were moving to your new house. Love the look and feel of your videos, there are very polished and well put together. Love how much you progressed from the last time I saw you. Keep up the great work. I'll be dropping by more to see what you are up to.
Clickspring would be proud. An exceptionally well designed piece.
That this level of precision & functionality can be made on a home 3D Printer is mind blowing.
I'm really surprised that something like a Spring - that's capable of reliably storing tremendous energy without breaking - can be 3D Printed using a polymer. I'd expect it to stretch & buckle under the strain, forming cracks after just a few wind-ups. The material which it's made of must have some pretty unique properties.
It really makes me wonder what kinds of novel clockwork driven Automata can be produced. The number of seriously complex mechanisms that can currently be designed & 3D Printed, is utterly mind boggling.
W.O.W! I never thought FDM 3D printing will someday reach this level of precision.
Reminds me of what the cover art for Cyanine in Lanota looks like. Or actually a would be contraption in lanota. Rhythm game reference outside, it looks really cool.
One of the most coolest thing I have ever seen
I can imagine this sort of clock in a game...
You just opened my eyes AND curiosity to a whole new world!! Thanks, mate!
So much detail in those tiny parts! Love this! Amazing work!
Ah yes, I love "The Epic of Alexander".
Wow! Fantastic job Joseph! ❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic mechanical engineering.
If clickspring could do this out of brass, that would make a great series to watch.
That is insanely impressive!
Another video editing masterpiece.
Thank you :)
That's amazing. My inner watch nerd loves these movements.
right? i just can't get enough of the movement and the sound!
I just noticed your Seek Discomfort tattoo! Glad to see someone from the Yes Fam doing awesome content on YT!
Wow, such intricate details. That looks like a challenge just to print and assemble, let alone design from scratch. Very impressive model and great job putting it together!
thanks buddy, was way too much fun :)
Nice! seeing that as a trained watchmaker gives me a smile. but in a good sense, because the watch looks really nice, and technically really nice to enjoy. But with my knowing about the complexity and precision you actually need to build this in full function. :-) i am also impressed (maybe a bit more) that 3D printers can print that good, that this complexity will work at the end.
and Yes i know, diffrent 3D printer, different results.
but still very nice project :-)
Nice to see the appreciation of the design. The designer of this model in an amazing engineer and while maybe this doesn't hold the perfect time, it's the technicalities involved within the design that are mind blowing. The fact that nowadays you can print such complex mechanical and functional models from off the shelf printers simply shows how far they have come and just a taste of whats to come :)
@@3DMakerNoob Yes its really nice too see it with the eye of an mechanic loving guy. And its litterly sure that it will not work on the perfect pitch of second. but thats not would you expect at this project. I call things like that "an ASMR for your EYE´s"
XD
⚠️⚠️⚠️PSA!!! ⚠️⚠️⚠️ As promised, after reaching 3,000 likes, i have started printing a second AND a third Tri-Axial Tourbillon. The second will be live built on my Twitch channel so make sure to follow as during that stream I will do a giveaway for the Third Tri-Axial tourbillon :) www.twitch.tv/breaksnmakes
This is very cool ;)
this dude is a cool dude
Ok I'll subscribe it

Love the tattoo the Yes theory guys would be glad to see it!
That is a clock I’d expect to seein the study of a steampunk wizard. Amazing.
That thing is super cool. Now i want to see Clickspring build a solid brass one.
I don't know if anyone has already suggested it but If there are schematics of the antikythera mechanism available that would be a worth while reproduction.
In addition to that,
I've thought that a 3D clock that had the position and timing of all the planets and all their moons in their current configuration would make a nice gift. I can't even imagine how complicated that would be!
Pretty Sweet!! I'm just waiting to get the files to start printing them and some parts. (Springs)
I ain't gonna lie, this looked like a opening for a movie that involves time travel!
This reminds me of that device in the song cover of Cyanine in the game Lanota
Has anyone modified this or one of the other 3d printed timepieces to include an electric motor to wind the spring? I'm thinking like a pre-quartz era electro-mechanical auto clock. spring unwinds, points close, motor kicks in and rewinds the spring. I'm fascinated by these videos. That seems like the next evolution for these.
Looks like a typical JRPG final boss to me
Very nice, I do like those clocks as a watch fan myself. I'm always amazed by the engineering brains behind mechanisims like this.
fully agree, the fact that he pulled this off with 3d printing is just ridiculous
That is the coolest thing I've seen in years!
Chaos is seen by those who don't understand complexity. In fact, order is more present in complexity.
oh my god, having that running on a battery of sorts (i know, that would ruin the whole steampunk design the thing clearly has going) would be awesome, just tune it to the right time and let it potentially run for days. or modify it to run off of electricity, plug it into a wall, and have a very nice steampunk style clock in your room.
omg my heart is melting at the sight of the thing... i love stuff like this, steampunk stylelized stuff is so beautiful
So I think I’m gonna buy a 3d printer now. I really love clocks for whatever reason
Beautiful. Although my favorite innovation was the little gauge/block for sizing and storing the shaft pins.
This is the coolest clock I have ever seen... I want one.
This thing is just gorgeous. While Im not particularly interested in clockwork type things, this plus the music that plays during the video certainly keeps drawing me back to watch and listen to the video again and again. I do have one question regarding the music: Whats the name of it?
brain and right thec tools. come out awesome stuffs. good video
I purchased this Campaign on MyMiniFactory when I saw it. I have yet to start printing it but I plan to start real soon. :P
I would love to make this one out of actual metal!
Cool concept!
THIS! This is what 3D printing is all about imho.
That's just cool! Thank you.
Love the "seek discomfort" tattoo, are you part of the Yes Theory fam?
Finally someone noticed
Was in my recommended. Totally worth it.
Nice perfect Alexander mini figure.
I think I may have just discovered my new inspiration for a tabletop RPG Campaign hook.
It reminded me those sci-fi mechanical cities from the games
As a person with a 'thing' for clocks...
I love this.
Needs a way to store energy longer term to release into the main spring at intervals to keep it running. Maybe that energy can be stored in a rubber band. Released when it needs to be. That way it wouldn't run out in an hour.
That’s really cool. Love watching it but I’d be more interested in making one if it could run 10-12 hours.
Boycotting- No instructions on when to eat a haribo or when to take a shot!
Kidding!!!! This is the coolest thing I have seen in a LONG LONG time!!!
To be fair, it gives you freedom to drink as much as you want whenever you want. However, it might not function properly 🤣
1:56 - i dig the tattoo my dude
Loved the clock if only I had a 3d printer I would print one but loved the video thanks
I feel like someone gonna make a fantasy clip of a giant version of this thing in a island floating in space that is responsible for the flow of time
Incredible!
This has got to be the best Rube Goldberg device i have ever seen
Bro, it's a beautiful artifact!
Awesome ! Great ingenuity !
Can you show us how you printed the ball bearings, screws, axles?
Right, wouldn't be so noticeable if he'd not stressed multiple times about being "completely" printed.
Oh. My. Lord. This thing is beautiful
デザインといい、フィラメントの選色といい、天才か。
this is the clock equivelant of making a mousetrap-style trap
This is like Lego for engineers.
Great and interresting design. Only thing missing for med is a away to manualle override it so it can get approx the correct time when starting it. I do know its not a time piece bit a mechanical modell. But it would annoy me to be of many hours😂🤘
Looks like something out of Myst. I love it.
This looks like the main villans final weapon against the world
Tourbillon watches are an example of how to do the wrong thing extremely well. =)
I'm sorry but
2:17 Kamen Rider Build: Genius
Honestly, the only change I'd make is to get a better winding spring. I know printing one is a fun experiment, but I'd rather something that can last 32 hrs. That way you can wind it once a day and it'll keep going. From there it's just a matter of properly lubricating the parts to reduce wear and tear.
