Appreciate your concern but our people are no less. But, we may have a reason for that...the injustices done by the govt. (or the person in charge) in the past and still continues to some extend.

Hi I respect all the scholars who are present on debating dy.This is to inform you that India is not a racist You can't say that india is a racist Country. raciism is find in some other countries now see.
      Racism in America
Racism is a dangerous weapon that had been in use in America. The practice of unfair treatment of the people living in America was prevalent majorly before the 20th century when a ban of racialism was announced. The blacks were majorly on the losing end when it came to matters of racism in America. However, there were others who suffered the same as they were not considered to be white people purely. These groups included the Italians, people from the Jewish nations or cultures and also the Irish people. Racial segregation was majorly in almost all areas. The tool or racialism was used in demoralizing the people. Those that were not white were treated as inferiors. The white Americans felt superior to the rest of the people. The justice mechanisms in America at the time racialism was widespread such that the systems of determination of criminalize were different.
      Racism in America: Prevalence
Slavery was one thing that led to the increase and prevalence of the racial segregation and discrimination in America. People that were enslaved were not whites. The black people were majorly the slaves. The nature of the tasks they performed, how badly they were treated were also contributors. They were thus viewed as slaves and not people like the rest. The schools theta the whites attended were different from those all the people from other races attended. The whites could never be allowed to mix with other races. The superiority complex among the whites was too much that they could not mingle or interact with races they thought, or they considered inferior. Unfairness in the justice system or the judicial systems in America was also experienced and evident. The whites could at times be pardoned for acts or mistakes people from different races would be sentenced for. This was the favor for the whites and discrimination against the rest of the people. Employment opportunities that earned a lot of money could only be allowed to the whites. People from other races would only work as sweepers and ground men or women.
Effects of the Prevalence of Racism In America
The people discriminated felt inferior and also demoralized. The inferior group was denied opportunities to participate in the community in issues that mainly concerned politics or development. People were unfairly treated as belonging to a different race. Some were even sentenced for simple mistakes. The conduct of racially segregating others was in a way causing enmity between and among the different races. The racialism was finally abolished.
SOME PEOPLES ARE PUT IT SOME FALLS & RUBBISH ALLEGATIONS ON INDIA IN THE NAME OF RACISM OR COLOUR OR CREED. THIS IS NONSENSE. NOT EVERY PERSON IS RACIST IN INDIA. WE ARE NOT RACIST

I would say that Indians are not as racist as you think, but that is only by a technicality. Being racist essentially means that you discriminate people on the basis of their race (which is often by colour). Now there is discrimination alive in our country on the basis of colour. Anyone who watches T.V. will have seen the 'Fair & Lovely' ad (or the more recent 'Fair & Handsome' ads), not to mention those numerous classifieds where bride is described to have 'wheatish' complexion (because heavens forbid that they be dark!). So while we are certainly fixated on 'fairness', the kind of discrimination that you face is less. And I won't even bother starting off on the manners we dish out to our North Eastern states (I have often felt that they are the sanest people in our Nation!).
Now if we decide to chuck the technicality, I am ashamed to say that we are undoubtedly VERY racist. We treat people from different states differently. I have been at the receiving end. I was discriminated by Kannadigas because I am a Malayali (a mallu as commonly known). Now if we go to the northern regions, both of us are discriminated as 'madrasis'. And no... we are not the victims alone. You can ask a mallu what their take on any North Indian or Tamilian is. You will find an equally discriminatory answer. The sad thing is that while our fixation with colour never leads to isolation all that much, the fact that you are from a certain state will certainly lead to that.
We crack jokes on 'Sardars', put down Biharis, say 'Madrasis' are uncouth, think 'Nexis' (our college term for people from NE) are full of loose women and that 'Gujjus' are money-minded misers, think... Yes folks... Welcome to Incredible India!
The only way to overcome these thoughts is to actually get to know different people. You will meet some of the most intelligent and proud people among the Sardars. A Bihari can make you laugh with their jokes on Lalu! A Madrasi will teach you that KFC is not the only cuisine that is 'Finger lickin good'. A Nexi can teach you on how you need NOT live in a metro to be forward in you thinking. A Gujju can teach you how to follow a passion (a certain Gujju still owes me a proper treat though!). Yes folks... Welcome to Incredible India!

Something I've notice about Indian people. They love to hang around other Indian and white people and are friendly and open to talking to them, but when a black person tries to form a friendship/communicate with them they put on an attitude of indifference and barely want to talk to them unless they can get something from them. I've also notice Indian people will give praise to another Indian, white, or light skinned person if they do well, but will not acknowledge a black persons accomplishment. In addition, I've notice In Universities, that Indian students will often always accept without question information they are getting from WHITE lecturers but will question and criticize BLACK lecturers.
The funny thing about this is that when they are discriminated by WHITES they cry racism.

MrAmsterdamcity1 I hate to say it but Indian people the most. That is saying something having once attended a school where I was the only colored person. Even then, it took a while but people were eventually able to see me for me. Here, in America (I don't know where you are from) people are accepting of different people. Once in a while you come across those ignorant people who see Indians as poor, dirty people but that is extremely rare. Eventually they come around with experience and time.
However, crazy enough, in my own culture, because my skin tone is seen as "too dark" I am discriminated against. I'm not joking, people have said this to my face. "You are too dark. " Excuse me?!

Also, just being a women in general. I am held to more restrictions, less freedom, just because of my gender.
Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Indian culture. But until accountability and discussion can occur, my statement still stands. I know for a fact I am not alone.
      Two more things:
      1. I never said I was glad I wasn't born in India
      2. I can't be "ignorant" if I have faced the very discrimination in question.

The whole comment section is very saddening. Yes, we should talk about racism and aim to bring equality. But by being disrespectful to any race and stereotyping them all is contradicting to this. Support and encouragement is needed when a country is trying to bring about a change in some of its people that show hatred to other people. Yes, it's a significant proportion of the population but definitely not the majority. The acts of ignorant people do not represent that of the whole at all.

I am a Bengali and a born and brought up person in Assam. I do feel proud of my birth place and my growing up stage in Assam due to some obvious reasons. The people of North East are far more caring, friendly, co operative, supportive and so on. In course of my growing up in Assam I was taught and experienced about different cultures, religions etc all together to cultivate my mentality of being accepted and to accept as the people of North East are habituated in. There are many root causes of discrimination in our country-lack of knowledge about the people of all parts of the country, their particular culture and habits in the mind sets of rest all other people in the country. We have developed this mentality with in ourselves to discriminate due to some political influence or probably due to some majority-minority issues that we create to help us keep in advantage in course of any endeavors that we take up on. "India, since long has been known for it's secularism, integrity in diversity" but all these are for reading in books and not for practical lives in common, like even now a marriage between a Hindu with a Mohammedan is a big social issue although the society has got nothing much to do in their personal bonding or relationship. The problem with North East can probably be compared with such a social misjudgment and misinterpretation in the mind sets of people round the country. It's not going to be solved till we people residing in the same country keep the map of our country clear in our minds.

"Racism" in general can be seen as the outward manifestation of the inward and inherent moral insolence of humans. The fastest way to suppress this manifestation, according to my opinion, is to educate the people in the best way to broaden the people's concepts and worldviews. As for India, it will be very difficult to come out from "Racism," as long as there is this "Caste system," because this system differentiates the status of humans by virtue of one's birth and descends. I went to school with Indians, and that is what happens to me. They became friends and respectful. I m not north eastern Indian but my country (Bhutan) is just bordered by 3states of north east India, I studied in India since from 7th grade (2013) to 2015!my experience in Delhi was completely different in terms of the way people judge! I m not generalizing whole Indians n I know there is still many good educated Indians out there, some people made fun of my physical appearance, they often call us chinkis/chowchow/Dog eater(Ugh) to my Family when ever we use to go for shopping ! Some students use to judge me harshly as if I did something horrible, stabbed behind my back, I couldn't comprehend n I wasn't upset with them being as racist, I was just confused because I have been very calm and kind to them but the way they treated me was different than the way I treated them! So as a Buddhist,i firmly believed in forgiveness so I completely ignored n I responded with compassion and kindness, I realised that it was literally in their blood n nobody can change their mentality except we can be the change to them!
I m not being judgemental here but I m just being genuinely honest with what I feel as of my personal experience! I don't hate some Indians for being racist but I m devastated with their Odd mentality n I have seen lots of north east Indians facing discrimination according to their physical appearance and cultural differences, I can feel them so well because I have been there too.. I mean in a same boat! I just want you all Indians to stay united with eachother because be it from north east India or south India, you all are Indians! I've just recently had an Indian married couple - young - younger than I - condemn my country - Australia - because ''There is racism there (I was told.) ''I've heard about it''. They've never actually been there. This trait of professing to be authorities on things they don't understand or have little or no knowledge about shocks me. I've since outlined our history mirrors others sprung from the conquest of colonial powers. That the general consensus of Australians is that was unjust everywhere it occurred (not just by the British) - moreover that reconciliation work in Australia with Aboriginal nations people continues to acknowledge past injustice upon the land we now call home and redress what it can in the 21st. century including the formal giving back back of that land wherever possible. I've since told them they are actually far more likely to experience racism in The U.K. (where they have immigrated and I live also). I've told them 'racism' exists anywhere there is ignorance - without regard to nations' borders or nationality. I've told them of being detained in the 1990's (even as The Good Friday N. Ireland Agreement was underway) on the passport of my father's nationality (Irish) in Britain and the abuse of power that saw me bullied, intimidated and threatened under interrogation by former MI5 operative detectives (given carte blanche to do so). I've told them they will never experience such a thing (nor should they). I've told them you don't have to have dark skin to experience racism or injustice (evidenced by the above). I've told them if they continue to put their perceived ideas of self entitlement ahead of them in terms of 'racism' they will construct in their own minds things that aren't there. I was told in feeble and completely irrelevant response I was somehow 'responsible' for the fact hotel resorts in India create 'western' compound environments around them (as opposed to prevailing local national Indian ones). I've told them their unwillingness to see anything beyond their own adherence to the victimhood and self entitlement displayed above puts them in danger of enacting the very ignorance against which they purport to oppose. Sadly - unable to countenance it any longer - I've parted company with them. I doubt they'd view this video.
