That would be of interest....to me at least, a woman of 63!***EDIT*** I should have said, "full on WHITE hair" as that's what grows in if I DON'T color my roots! If it grew in a pretty S&P or "grey-ish" silver, I'd have no issues, but I was born a strawberry blonde. When I lost all my hair due to chemo in 2020-2021, it grew back in totally white. I rocked it for awhile, but then began to feel older than I was ready to look or be. I began coloring it and have to do the roots more often because of the white standing out. I hope Brad can offer some ideas or solutions. Thanks for ALL the likes for my suggestion to him! Hope he replies!🤞

Maybe instead of a single black color, you should come up with bundles specialized for the specific starting point. A kit for from blonde to black, a second kit or bundle from red to black....
I dressed up as Wednesday Addams for Halloween last year and wore a black wig… my husband has always asked what I would look like with black hair and he and our son got a fair impression… and both decided that black is NOT my color. They did not approve and I was extremely happy about that!!!! I’m sticking with blonde or ginger hair from now on!
Don't do box dye. Go to Sally's and get color and developer so you can control the volume of the developer you use. If your hair is lighter than the color you want, use a lower volume developer.

I find arctic fox Transylvania has more purple undertones than green. I used it about a month ago and while I have some green hues as the black faded, my hair is predominantly purple

SMH. Not all blacks and not all fabrics are the same. Red hair dye (and yes, even black hair dye) can 100% stain most shades & material compositions of black fabric.

I think black hair is beautiful and very striking. I have light green eyes and it really brings them out. Also, dark hair reflects light and looks super shiny 🔥

A month ago the shops in my area did not have my blonde so my huby came home with the brand I use but it was frosted blonde and it was crap some of my hair started to fall out, last night after a shower I got the ✂ ✂ and cut it from under shoulder length to just above my shoulders it turned out ok. Girl the math is just a life sucker. I wanted to prove to my bullies (family) that I wasn’t stupid (undiagnosed autism/dyslexia. I chose business and accounting as my major. I cried a lot and a lot more. Graduated on the Deans list with a 3.5. Looking back I have realized they bullied me because they were self projecting their high school, three baby daddy’s, bible thumping hysterical ass. It felt good to see them at my graduation with flower eras and balloons I looked at them smiled and walked away. No way was I going to let them celebrate my win when they doubted me.

That's my experience with all semi permanent dyes. I keep my hair blue and the color fades much quicker on my unbleached roots than the bleached ends. I only bleach every other month but color about every 2 weeks so by the time I'm getting ready to bleach again, the roots are struggling to hold the blue color. Love your hair, btw!! It's lovely ❤
I bought Arctic Fox's Purple AF to touch up my purple hair that faded since I colored it about 7 months ago. I have an hombre thing going between my natural, dark blond upper mids and roots to the purple lower mids and ends. I mostly just went over everything that was already colored and up a bit to blend, but the color barely stayed in the vorgin hair. Everything else is still bright purple, and I love it.
It can show well on med brown or lighter hair and tints darker hair if there's enough porosity. I only bleach every 4-6 months but color (the same) every 3-5 weeks. It's more vibrant after lightening but I've not found it necessary. Tbs, I don't want super vibrant color, feels cartoony on me.
I'm having such flashbacks to my naturally blonde friend deciding she wanted black hair and using henna to do it... We have a hairstylist friend, who I asked about it even back then (he had only graduated like a year or 2 before) and he told us it would be tricky and to please paint it another colour first, naturally she didn't listen. And her hair turned.... god so many tones of grey blue and green, it was...special.
Yeah... the way to do that is to dye with actual henna first. The red stuff. What your friend used was probably pure Indigo. Indigo will darken brown hair and it will turn henna red into a deep black, but it doesn't work by itself on blonde or grey/white hair. It's also important to not mix indigo with very hot water, as that will cause the green tinge. I use the double dye method to dye my roots every 3 weeks and it works perfectly. Got raven black hair and I'm naturally an ashy light brown with lots of white. I have never managed to achieve a blue sheen, though. It's black in indirect light and has a reddish reflexes in the sun.

I bleach my hair (Just roots now) to a pale yellow because I want dark blue hair and I don’t want green or teal to pop up. The black I use is purple base and I usually just add blue then use Brad’s blue mask on the rest. However, this time I bleached my roots and decided to do my whole head with the base color. Black + Blue + purple = my dream color. A very dark blue, think midnight sky.

I remember this dark(he he) moment in my past, as natural light blonde I just dye my hair blue-black(semi-permanent) straight. My blue eyes jus pop out like a crazy and think I looked like a crazy as well, but in my opinion every blond girl who like to dye her hair need to have this moment as well :D
to go from bright platinum-esque Blonde, first you should fill your hair, preferably with a copper tone imo, also most often I find that if you go with a brown-black or even a red-black, you're less likely to have the grey/green washed out hollow tones that you get from blue-black dye, and instead it fades out to a more brown or mahogany color that still looks full instead of being hollow and dull. This is simply my experience, and as everyone's hair is different this could be 100% backwards from what everyone else has gone though.

Your coloring products are too expensive. And you don't have a bleach for those with dark hair. Therefore, when I do get around to coloring my hair, I'd use the Garnier P1 - Deepest Intense Purple since it's supposedly made for coloring dark hair. Maybe with their PL3 - Charcoal Bleach Ultra Cool Platinum if it doesn't stick in my hair for being so dark, we'll see. Both of those products together cost less than one of your products, way more affordable.
I'm a natural blonde (Dutch) and I went to a salon for the first time I wanted to dye my hair black. I also keep my hair super long. The poor girl was nearly crying when she started to apply the dye and said, most of my customers are begging me to achieve your natural color and you want to dye it black!! DO IT! Now I'm going grey and trying to get it to platinum, haha! Hair adventures are so fun!
As someone in the alt scene (punk/goth/metal) I can strongly say that yes Brad many people do want "flat black" 😅 a black so dark that there's basically no undertones to be seen only black
I did something similar like the second girl. Except I did what Brad said, kept the roots black (natural color) and the lighten hair purple and teal! With X Mondo color of course & I love it. I gotta retouch it again cause it’s not as vibrant but it has lasted very long surprisingly lol.
I feel like all hair dye sucks now. Dying blonde to black was so easy and coated hair so nice. Your hair could be fried af and black box dye would make it look like silk. Now it wont even cover greys.
I use the arctic fox black color in my whole hair maybe twice a year to keep it black since I only do my roots with black box dyes and when the arctic fox fades it looks purple-black ! but when you rinse it out after you dyed it, it looks green AND purple in the water, it´s really strange lmao
Agree with copper and cool skin. It always is said to be “wrong” as copper is so warm but I find the same it actually brightens me a bit and cool tones can drag me down. Glad you confirmed that!!

I find blonde to be the least flattering color, so I'm very biased, but the last 2 girls looked way better with dark hair. It's more natural. To me blonde usually only looks good on people born with it. I liked the first girl with dark hair too. She just needed to style it 😂😂

Or one that isn't even 40 but has been going gray since she was 17. I am very gray and it isn't even stripes of silver, it is a salt and pepper mess.

Arctic Fox doesn't really work on anything but bleached hair in my experience.

to go from bright platinum-esque Blonde, first you should fill your hair, preferably with a copper tone imo, also most often I find that if you go with a brown-black or even a red-black, you're less likely to have the grey/green washed out hollow tones that you get from blue-black dye, and instead it fades out to a more brown or mahogany color that still looks full instead of being hollow and dull. This is simply my experience, and as everyone's hair is different this could be 100% backwards from what everyone else has gone though.

Your coloring products are too expensive. And you don't have a bleach for those with dark hair.
Therefore, when I do get around to coloring my hair, I'd use the Garnier P1 - Deepest Intense Purple since it's supposedly made for coloring dark hair. Maybe with their PL3 - Charcoal Bleach Ultra Cool Platinum if it doesn't stick in my hair for being so dark, we'll see.
Both of those products together cost less than one of your products, way more affordable.
I'm a natural blonde (Dutch) and I went to a salon for the first time I wanted to dye my hair black. I also keep my hair super long. The poor girl was nearly crying when she started to apply the dye and said, most of my customers are begging me to achieve your natural color and you want to dye it black!! DO IT! Now I'm going grey and trying to get it to platinum, haha! Hair adventures are so fun!

As someone in the alt scene (punk/goth/metal) I can strongly say that yes Brad many people do want "flat black" 😅 a black so dark that there's basically no undertones to be seen only black

I did something similar like the second girl. Except I did what Brad said, kept the roots black (natural color) and the lighten hair purple and teal! With X Mondo color of course & I love it. I gotta retouch it again cause it’s not as vibrant but it has lasted very long surprisingly lol.
I feel like all hair dye sucks now. Dying blonde to black was so easy and coated hair so nice. Your hair could be fried af and black box dye would make it look like silk. Now it wont even cover greys.
I use the arctic fox black color in my whole hair maybe twice a year to keep it black since I only do my roots with black box dyes and when the arctic fox fades it looks purple-black ! but when you rinse it out after you dyed it, it looks green AND purple in the water, it´s really strange lmao
Agree with copper and cool skin. It always is said to be “wrong” as copper is so warm but I find the same it actually brightens me a bit and cool tones can drag me down. Glad you confirmed that!!

8:46 guess I'm unusual 😂 Hair on my head is kinky, but my eyebrows are bone straight, I guess because they don't grow as long as some ppls eyebrows. They're also naturally thin, but not crazy thin

I use crazy colour.. Bordeaux. I love it but my bathroom hates me 😅 gloves are a must! I have thin shoulder length hair and plaster it in two bottles.

What if you make a black color "system" type thing with 3 steps? Like a color to fill the hair, the actual black dye, and a glaze to top it off. Just an idea.
In my 20s I used dark cool brown hair dye instead of black and it looked nice
I find blonde to be the least flattering color, so I'm very biased, but the last 2 girls looked way better with dark hair. It's more natural. To me blonde usually only looks good on people born with it. I liked the first girl with dark hair too. She just needed to style it 😂😂
