25 years on and this still sounds like it's from the far distant future just like it did 25 years ago! Phenomenal tune!
Great words! Cant find such wild and bump sound!
Wonderfull so lovely
lfo lochness is same
INDEED IT DOES.AWESOME
Absolutely with you on this track
This song is a masterpiece. I love the entire album.
Oh my gosh!! Sitting in my daughter's car and this song came on through her phone. I was like....hold up!! I know this song!! I use to listen to it when you were a kid I said. No wonder it spoke to me, she replied.
Seriously the thousands of songs I've forgotten 😔 how happy I am to find it.
This whole album is a masterpiece nowhere near as known as it should be, each time I listen im sure I hear something new... there are so many different layers to each of the tracks but I think storm 3000 is my favourite.
The stereo production is breath taking. If I ever want to test a stereo sound system or set of new headphones, this is the album, and in particular, this song, if it doesn’t sound amazing, then the product isn’t.
@@Lumibear.😂
Used to come back from clubbing in the late 90,s early 2000,s at six in the morning. Put this track on and slowly wind down.
💙 I know the feeling
Same here.
Or portishead.
Same!! 👌😜
Didn't we all! Actually still do!
works on every level
Omg!! I lived for this album!
I remember this music being played in cinemas back in the day before the trailers / main film started. Music still great today! 😎
Such nostalgic memories. I used to go out with a girl 20 years ago, who, whenever hearing me play this would say "Bleep bleep blop" in my ear (she was not a massive leftield fan to be honest). I hated her for it at the the time. You don't fucking "Bleep bleep blop" leftfield. But now, looking back on it, I will never forget those days...
To be faaair thooo it does go beep bleep blop 😂 I reckon she was on to something.
@@_4200h It does, Clearly go "Bleep bleep blop", but that is not the moral of the story! The point is neither you, nor anybody else for that matter, has the right to sing "Bleep bleep blop" in my fucking ear when I'm stoned and trying to chill out to Leftfield !!! :) Unless you're my ex :) or maybe a nice random person who appreciates Leftfield :)
You should whack "You don't bleep bleep blop Leftfield" on a t-shirt.
Superb 😄
If you thumbed this down, for Christ's sake have a word with yourself.
Ed Sheeran's marketing people like to downvote music that is good
Agreed. Timeless music.
Anyone who did was just attention seeking
🤣
I thumbed up for this, still having with a word with myself, that how can people produce such beautiful sounds:)
it's probably my favorite track from Leftfield ever.
2020 sent me to warn you about the.... oh man I messed up the time travel thing my boss is going to be soooooo angry with me.
not forgotten
For me. A dead tie with Phat Planet.
💯%
Adidas Power Soccer brought me here... 25 years late!
This song actually saved my life! No pissing about. Thank you :)
colleen111777 I’m
Starting to think me too .. keep the faith
Same. Got me into electronic music at 13. Sneaking out my window to listen to it on my cd player on Brighton beach. Not a soul around then. Just the seagulls which are echoed in this track x
i know what you mean
25 years right in your face!!!Timeless tune.
This track almost makes me want to cry....it’s so beautiful.x
I do everytime i hear it ❤
You're not alone ...
Who is your sister?
Oh my! The memories ❤
They used to play this as you landed at belfast from stranraer many years ago.
Should have also played Belfast by Orbital...
most of the other uploads of melt are over saturated, i'm surprised that other listeners don't notice. you can hear the oversaturation on other uploads even on cheap headphones. this upload just sparkles, amazing difference in quality.
Indeed.
This is what happens when you give creative people the time to work on stuff. No pressure to turn out hits but they go on and create timeless music
Stunning every time. What an amazing piece of work from a fabulous album.
Reminds me of all my bbc horizon edits
This is the piece of music you play when you want to test a sound system…
The 'Tourism' version is class. Saw Leftfield last year, in Newcastle. When they played this I almost cried. Finally got to see Leftfield! Hope they come back up here!
Adidas power soccer anyone?
This song makes me miss the 90s☹️
Travelling around Oz. Deffo! xxx
me too 😥👌🏼
Cheer up Luke, if you're like me, you can get off your nut on coffee these days.
Among plenty of reasons to miss the 90's
Everything make me miss the 90s
This forever evergreen
I'm still introducing this beautiful work to people of my age (I'm 62) they are in Aura.. No idea about this ... It takes me to happy place..
this song is a fckin masterpiece !
Early nineties. Reading Festival. They played this each night on the big rig ....
Hey!!! Listen to the whole album!! What a trip from the past!! So happy right now seriously!!
Around mid 90s a 3 x CD was released: Cafe Mambo - Cultura Ibiza. The second CD was called "mellow". It contains brilliant tracks like Underworld's Dark & Long (Thing in a book remix), Orbital - Belfast, Sueno Latino, Water From A Vineleaf, Smokebelch II, Audio Deluxe - 60 seconds (plus others) and ends with Leftfield - Melt. It is unquestionably one of the best vibe CDs I've ever heard. It's just so well put together. Find it, buy it, love it! The other 2 CDs aren't bad either ;)
Every so often I come back to this album and remember in my opinion it is the best electronic album of all time. Myself and many friends were just obsessed with Leftfield , every release was ground breaking.
Same.
I listen to this when driving in traffic Chills me right out and sends me some where else..
I bought the CD for this album when it came out and it’s been in my work van ever since, it is without doubt the best album of its genre ever made, pure genius.
I’ve been listening to it when driving from job to job every workday for more than 25 years now and can not find fault with it.
love this so bad
Fat chilling beats car windows down in summer bass on max, cruise control set high, you know the drill
Time stands still, when you hear that tune. Words couldn't describe my feelings … this music is a own language. Magical masters leftfield …
Sitting here with a whiskey and my head phones on ………….yes yes yes
Nae headphones here mate,but a whisky aye , what a tune ❤
Have listened to this song 1000’s of times, mostly stoned!!. Sounds different every time but always amazing. Best track of, arguably, the best album ever. Miss Leftfield
Listen to this when flying and look out of the window. Add no more.
Wish I could
The Leftfield-Legend, they blew the roof off Brixton Academy, via sheer volume....bits of plaster falling from the sky
Was there .that system was mental
Class !
Anything off leftism sends me straight to a certain feeling, right back to being a teenage. Bit anxious, and expectant and having my mind blown at this beautiful music. I was later to discover it’s a great comedown album too
best leftfield track of all time?
My summer tune
For me it's more like a track for running on a rainy day or best in the early morning winters. But yeah could be a cool summer track too
Adidas Power Soccer on PS1 3> 3> 3>
Yea man, what a class game
Came here just for this comment.
@@ded32 loool 🤣👏🏻👍🏻
@@badmouserising9859 indeed with great memories
Finger save gloves 🧤
this song fits towards my loneliness
Do not be lonely. Left field gives us joy. I know life often sucks, but it is the music that makes it bearable. Bianca from Dublin
Yeah great, thanks KARL.
This is ageless class. A phenomenal piece of music that is and always will be out of this world.
i'm pretty sure this was the soundtrack to living and growing videos when i was at primary school
This is definitely the trip to space song, looking through the window at the pure deep blue oceans, the peace & serenity of that thought would be an awesome experience, who else agrees ❤
Who's here from adidas power soccer 97?
I do remember this music playing on space night during the 90s! Amazing world images from space with this wonderful song, so cool!
Ahh melt. When are we going to have the bonus cd stuff? Afro left is my fav
The best chill out dance track from the 90's bar none. Epic doesn't do it justice.
Wow am i glad i found this masterpiece again 😍😍❤
Adidas Power Soccer brought me here 😊
Its great how a tune/piece of music transports you back to the time of its inception. I can see rhis style of music being used in a church setting in the future. Maybe be an alternative Hymns in some way. Just a thought 😊
Someone said this song reminds them of a song from the Suikoden I soundtrack - peaceful people. I don’t see it.
It’s nice and other worldly, nothing like peaceful people lol.
Took me about 10 years to find this tune. I knew it was off a footy game but thats it
Adidas power soccer I think. The little video clips. “Finger save gloves” 🧤
Title says it all. Just melt. Timeless.
masterpice i love it
Have this tune in my collection! 👍👍 Great after a joint & with neon flicker flame lights on in a darkened room! To add an atmosphere too! 👍👍🌿🌿🎵🎵
F&£king Class! 52 yo and grateful for my generation 😘😘
Once heard there is no going back ,pure genius ,light years in front of the pack...the album will out live all of us and provide such pleasure for future generations to come !
A shame this experiment ended so early.
I m 99 old..and i forget everything ..maybe i already listen this..but this is amazing...again?
Lei mi ha commosso. Grazie. Ha aggiunto bellezza a questo fantastico brano.
its 2023 and yes its still sounds like its from the far distant future and what a beautiful future it would be
Was anyone at Bluedot when Leftfield played the whole album live with all those amazing psychadelic backdrop video projections? ...quite something tbh.
I heard a story when they first toured the album the bass was so thunderous they got blamed for structurally damaging one building they played in .... amazing ...
Yeah Brixton in ‘96 I think
J'ai écouté ce song a fond a la barre d'un bateau ⛵ 25years!! mes meilleures souvenirs 🌎 merci !!☮️🖐️
Wait!!!! You must be Banksy? 😀😉🤑🙉🔥😀🚜🐼
Just heard this track in 1994.08.06 - Essential Mix - Leftfield
Leftism a masterpiece. Capolavoro!
One of my favourites from the album, which is a superb work of art in itself
The 90's were days of casual drug use and great music.
I love this.
Aside from the creative thought and inspiration needed, how do you create music like this? What tools did they use back in the 90's?
Musique exquise...inaltérable au temps...l'ai, l'écoute et le ferai aussi longtemps que mes oreilles fonctionneront
Adidas power soccer song back in the day 👌 ⚽
Anyone remember a UK documentary around late 90s/early 00s that used this track.
Documentary followed some council estate children around
The track was very fitting to the whole feel of the show.
It’s on UA-cam - (Real Stories) Life on the Breadline
@@marthamydear5869 Wow. Many thanks. I've spent a long time looking for that documentary. I've just started it and it hits different now that I have two kids myself.
I'm sure there was a follow up to these kids but memory is hazy.
It was also used - really well, like most of the soundtrack - in a BBC (I think) made-for-TV movie called Loved Up, starring a few young actors who went on to be famous: Lena Headey, Jason Isaacs, Danny Dyer. Kind of like a less light-hearted precursor to Human Traffic. Worth a watch if you can find it.
Probably one of the best artists of EDM in the 90s. Super album - this is a very nice track with that reverbed trumpet making the hairs on the back of one's neck stand on end... But, I think Afro Ride was my favourite track by messrs Barnes and Daley.
Too many beloved memories from all around the world with this masterpiece. "We'll always have Sydney in the rain." xxx
The cherry on top of a perfect cake. Best album ever
Remember listening to this on Cassette in my vw Polo whilst travelling from Glasgow to Fort William through Glencoe. It was like an emersive experience which emphasized the beauty of the scenery I was travelling through. Music can occassionally do that
The all album " Leftism" is a masterpiece
Sailing...and freedom!
anyone here from the game "Adidas power soccer?"
Best mellow track ever AND the best thing I know of for testing the stereo of your headphones or home set up.
Saw them at Margate this past weekend. Completely speechless. Their understanding of sound was so evident, even on a terrible soundsystem 🤯
Bought this album from poundshop for my brother-in-law Margate Kent England pretty good luck one loves it
Yes love the music plud saxophone from Belgium invetor.
What we gonna do whitout Belgium jazz
Another comment! Sorry.. But why dose always this remind me of the game "Spiryo"?... Funny that, but know music is by I believe Stuart Coupland!... Drummer of the police.. !!
Did this, Leftfield ever make it to other countries, Europe or the USA ? It seems like a UK secret, a good one, or maybe they just didn't travel well?
Yes german TV channel BR alpha at "space night " even almost 20 years ago😉❤❤
they were huge in australia and NZ, well among my friends!
Nice illuminati all seeing eye rendering. watch over your back because we are onto you matey!
Why dose this remind me of the game "Spyro"!!.. The little dragon, the music was so similar, I believe that the drummer of the " Police" wrote most of it., sorry, just what I thought....
You need to be totally relaxed and watching that point where the sea meets the horizon to get into this. A hot beach with the odd beautiful woman strolling past in a bikini suited me, as did see birds catching currents of air. Better during the stark contrast of a sunny day or close to rainfall than the night.
Timeless ..
Huge influence until now
Got to know this evergreen from the Space Night Vol. 3 compilation from 1997
All my sorrows" Melt" listening to this masterpiece!
sublime. sat on a beach staring out to sea. sun setting . magical
Sitting in my parents garden having a barbecue in 99 listening to this, brings me back every time 😢
