Every pet I've ever owned has been a rescue/adoptee! Can't imagine PAYING for a family member when there are sooo many good boys and girls needing loving homes. I've never been without a fur baby.🥰
I have never shopped nor desired a "breed". Those of us that have rescued/adopted a being in need, truly understand how powerful the process is. I hug all of you and your babies...THANK YOU 💜🐾💜🐾💜🐾🌎🌏🌍🙏🏽
Adoptions are the best. I will never shop for a pet. Too many wonderful animals in shelters, on the street, etc. God bless these people and their new fur babies! Wishing them many years of happiness together!
All mine have been bonded pairs, usually traumatized. The extra patience and love I give is nothing compared to the honour and joy I feel when they decide they can trust me. I hate seeing the terrified older cats in shelters who don’t understand how their human and everything they knew has vanished.
We always adopt older animals. The latest that we have is also our youngest. Got her last October at 6 1/2 yrs. Usually we look for 8 and older but she was at the shelter for quite a while.🐾❤️🐾❤️
Same here. When I volunteered at a shelter I saw older animals being surrendered because their owners had died. After the pandemic I made it my mission to adopt only older animals. Recently adopted an almost 12 yr old cat that was surrendered because daughter went away to college. It was the only home he had ever known and they just gave him up. Just because someone doesn’t beat an animal doesn’t mean they have a good heart.
The love you give a pet, is returned to you many times over, in ways you may not be aware of at the time. The poor dog that was beat and tied to barbed wire, too bad those “people” who did that will not endure the same!
For years I got handed rescues. Most in dire psychological state. This last year I lost four of those rescues. All 18 years old. Doesn't make it easier. Millie, Hamish, Polly and Violet.
The bond that forms when traumatized animals realize they can trust you is profound, and so is the loss. I’m so sorry that the depth of your love is now reflected in your pain. Please know you’re not alone 💔❤️🩹❤️
We have adopted many cats over the last 45 yrs. The one we have now is a former barn cat who over the years has become blind and is now 15. But she gets along fine. Animals are so great.
Whoever said feral cats won't be affectionate is full of it. We rescued a feral orphan kitten who just would NOT trust us. The local shelter said they'd advised euthanizing her. No Way! She's become the sweetest, most loving cat who puts her front paws on my shoulder and purrs against my neck. She doesn't meow but makes these little trill sounds - I was told that's how cats voice deep affection.
Please, if you have a dependent you love, no matter what their species, make a will to fund their care if something happens to you, and try to find some people you’d trust with them who are willing to take them in if they can. I have 3 people named in my will, along with money for the expenses of healthcare for older cats.
Bless you all for having hearts of pure gold!❤ all my fur baby’s were thrown away by some @£&@!!, you can fill in the cuss words yourself!, I have adopted two more abandoned baby’s Mimi 3hrs old tortie, Lucy a five month old void (black cat), true siblings they squabble every day and curl up together at night. I love them with all my heart they will be safe and loved until they pass.
I took a cat off the streets 18yrs ago she'd been put out by her owners they told me what they'd done and yes my jaw dropped she's now laying next to me and stinks she's incontinent and we clean her but she still stinks do we care not one little bit her Nick names wet your knickers and we couldn't love her any more than we do lol

I can't understand why such a beautiful cat had to spend 11 yrs in a shelter.
my cats - a mother and 3 babies all showed up to my porch after a hurricane here in Miami about 5 years ago- i still have them
The cat distribution system. That's how I got my beautiful calico. She showed up on my front porch.

@@DonnaAbrams-qh7zt I don't know how anyone can give up an animal. Your kitty will know lots of love!🐾❤️🐾❤️

I don't understand why people waste their time doing something so pointless. Isn't it easier to just not hurt pets?
And the feline distribution system rocks on as it should.❤❤❤
LOVED THIS 🤗 ❤ Congratulations ✨️ God bless all 🙏

So very sorry 😢
So sorry for your loss. I’m still mourning my cat who passed 11 years ago.

Yes, the extra patience and love is rewarded tenfold ♥️
Had a ferel kitten who was mean and hissy but turned into the most loving cat. When we got a puppy she let him cuddle. She died age 20 in her sleep.

Can you train a rabbit goto a certain area for bathroom.
I knew a rabbit who used a litter box and my understanding is that it’s generally possible - but I’d talk to rabbit adopters and a couple vets.
