I do EZDrummer and then send it out to real drummers. Most of the time they love the parts I come up with. So its a great way to write parts that are realistic and drummers can understand!
HA! In the 80s, engineers hated the limitations (and pain-in-the-assedness) of tape, but that's all they had. As soon as pro-tools came out, many of these guys switched immediately and never looked back. That's why so many pro engineers today who worked back then raise their eyebrows when they hear younger dudes who have the option of great high quality and logistically easy digital recording options deciding to go back to tape. Who wants to go back to the days of literal cutting and pasting? Times change! To me, it's all about the hybrid approach.
I bought a bunch of Waves plugins back before they tried to go subscription. I still use the plugins, I think I got to version 11, and stopped upgrading. They all still work. I love the Abbey Road mastering plugin. Can't agree more about Ozone 8.
The Analog obsession Harrison eq is great on drums specifically snare. I use the Kolin MB compressor in mastering cause it’s just amazing to have a multiband Fairchild like (I know it’s based on the Collin’s 26u but I get the same feel as a Fairchild which apparently they were market competitors once upon time in the 50s)
When you play the Juno of TAL, you say : ok, it's good. And one day you play a Roland Juno, straight from 1982 and then you collapse and scream: ooooooookkkkkkkkaaaaaaayyyyyyy !!!!!!!!!! A little difference, for sure
@@travisraab The difference is in the playing, and even more in the sequencing. It's so organic, you could listen to your sequence for hours without adding anything else. Everything seems to be constantly changing. That said, for the pads, this plugin is really similar to the original
they sound amazing and they sound very cool, and they are really really great, what else do you have to say? oh and I forgot to mention these plugins are really really cool? awesome
Used to use some waves stuff but then one day they wanted me to pay for it all again to continue to use it. Affordable barrier to entry but grubby and greedy business
@@travisraab I think they went to some kind of fully subscription type deal where you'd just essentially rent their stuff. Then they backed off from that and said ok you can own it. But the WUP thing is where you have to pay on a per plugin basis to upgrade from say Waves 11 version plugins to Waves 12 and then to Waves 13 etc etc so that you continue to get the bug fixes and compatibility assurance. If ya know what I mean. You don't have to pay the fee. But your Waves plugins will stay on version 11 or whatever version they were when you bought them if you don't. That means that if there's any issues with future Mac stuff or Windows stuff then there's a chance your version 11 Waves plugins might not work or will be glitchy or not compatible or whatever. So it's still kind of like a subscription where you're just a renter. But I think lots of people (especially on Windows) just don't pay or upgrade to Waves 12, 13 whatever. And their plugins work fine. People kind of don't like the subscription stuff because it is one of the communsit planks where ownership of private property is banned. Something like that.
Every good analogue sportsman needs a decent restoration bundle every once in a while.

You know maybe you could put your money where your mouth is and donate the creators. Just sayin'.
