I have 4 kids, 6years old and under. We don't have a rug under the table, either. But i just found the company called ruggable, washable rugs. Going to try it out with a smaller area in my daycare to see how well they work.

I agree! So many times you hear people complaining that they “can’t find this piece” or “really need to find something for here” and they go out and panic buy something that they aren’t going to like in 6 months. If they would slow down and just enjoy the hunt… they would be happy. They really could live with what they have until they find “THE PIECE!” And there is nothing better than cleaning and decorating on a stormy, rainy day! Love that! Hello I just wanted to say thank you! I had torn rotator cuff surgery a while back. It is a very painful surgery and it’s a long recovery. I spent most days sitting on the couch in an arm sling feeling sorry for myself because I couldn’t do much. I’m normally a very independent person and not being able to do much for myself was a very emotional thing for me. I clicked onto one of your videos one day and half way though your video I found myself straightening the coffee table in front of me. So I clicked onto another one of your videos and before I knew it I was cleaning my whole house. My mood greatly improved and everyday from then on got a little easier. I can’t say thank you enough. And to all of the ladies who take time out of their busy schedules to make these videos I am truly grateful! Keep up the great work! God bless!

You guys have managed to keep the character of the farmhouse intact, while also making it a modern home that your young family needs. My Mom always made me and my siblings cleanup our play area when we were done playing. And she never allowed us to make a mess in the main living areas. I'm grateful to her for that. My kitchen, living room, and main bathroom are always clean and tidy. I just function better that way😂. I think that your home look remarkable!
I am so happy to see your new video, Amy! We are closing on a new home in Virginia and are moving from Ohio this week. We owned our last home for over 27 years. It was built in 1800 and we remodeled the whole thing. It was part of the Underground Railroad. We raised our daughters there, so it has been hard to leave. We sold it In March and had to move to a condo as we looked for a home to purchase in virginia. It’s been a long and stressful ordeal, as my husband works for the air force. Anyway, I love what you said towards the end of your video. You are right, just embrace where you are right now. Things will end up okay and just enjoy the process of making a home. I dislike having to clean a rug under the table too. HOWEVER, you’re right it does anchor the room. Maybe something made from natural materials,(jute, bamboo, etc.). My fav thing to clean a kitchen sink with is the Lemon Verbena cream cleanser too. I just love that scent. Nice video. Everything looks so nice. Have a great week.

And this is our forever home (we are 57 yrs. old 😅) so not moving anymore the lord willing .

I love the video. I used to have rug under the dining table and took it out about a year. I should have done it sooner. What a relieve it has been not dealing with the cleaning and constantly telling everyone not to drop food on the rug.

I was disappointed when you took the glass door built in’s out, it felt like you was taking away from the character of the house but from the wide angle view from the sitting room you most definitely made the right decision. Your home is so cozy. It takes me back to childhood and a remembrance of my grandparents home 💖 While I was looking at your three long drawers I had memories of my grandmother’s kitchen, she had three at the end of her very long counter and in them she stored her real silverware in a chest and all her towels and tablecloth’s. The silver only came out on special occasions and she would sit and polish each piece herself as we sit and listened to her talk. Thank you for the walk back in time. For years I didn't have a rug under our table. Then I just couldn't handle not having one, so I decided to go outnin a limb and get a ruggable rug. My style is very similar to yours, and I went with the Kamran rug in coral. Oh my goodness, it's gorgeous and practical. I've had entire bowls of soft baby food dumped on it and it cleans up beautifully. It really ties the space together and is honestly easier to clean than the floor. I love how you're taking a beautiful old home and making it even more beautiful.

I have watched your videos for some time now. I just love your old house and remodels etc. I also have a 100 +yr old house fixed up that needs fixed up again lol. LOVE your home, it's so lovely, most especially the kitchen...and, oh, that sink!!! That sink reminds me of my grandma's!! By the way, the Baking Soda Cream is GREAT to get grease off cabinets! Even with regularly wiping them down, there's still a build up that seems to occur and the baking soda cuts right through that and leaves cabinet fronts looking brand new!! I'm always shocked how much comes off my cabinets even though I rarely fry anything and you don't even see it, but it's there! Thanks for all the tips and sharing your beautiful home with us!!

For several years we had an oblong braided rug under our table but like you mentioned it was so dirty from dropped food and spills, I got tired of cleaning it! It’s now so much easier to just mop under the table. Just my opinion:) Yummy cookies!! 🤤
So nice to visit with you, Amy. I am currently doing a whole house declutter during my home renovation. As each room gets finished, I am decluttering before putting all of the furniture back. Big job with lots of donations happening 😊. It's so satisfying to get each room done. Remodeling is certainly a long process. The only rugs I have I place them only on the winter time in the living room where we seat and they are wash able. Very good rugs made out of cotton and you can wash them. This is life changing!

I have watched your videos for some time now. I just love your old house and remodels etc. I also have a 100 +yr old house fixed up that needs fixed up again lol. You inspired me to paint my back mud room yesterday LOL Thanks for that! Love your kitchen- mine is the same size and I was thinking the layout you have is what I have been planning for our remodel in the future- now I have a visual as to what it could look like.

LOVE your home, it's so lovely, most especially the kitchen...and, oh, that sink!!! That sink reminds me of my grandma's!! By the way, the Baking Soda Cream is GREAT to get grease off cabinets! Even with regularly wiping them down, there's still a build up that seems to occur and the baking soda cuts right through that and leaves cabinet fronts looking brand new!! I'm always shocked how much comes off my cabinets even though I rarely fry anything and you don't even see it, but it's there! Thanks for all the tips and sharing your beautiful home with us!!

Amy, I love your home. And it is so refreshing to see some dark wood instead of all the white. I love white on the walls, but I think white walls just pops dark furniture. Love your dining room and kitchen. Love the sink. I love the whole house. Just beautiful! Your server or buffet is just gorgeous, so is the little corns hutch. You have done a great job with this house. So beautiful!
For several years we had an oblong braided rug under our table but like you mentioned it was so dirty from dropped food and spills, I got tired of cleaning it! It’s now so much easier to just mop under the table. Just my opinion:) Yummy cookies!! 🤤
So nice to visit with you, Amy. I am currently doing a whole house declutter during my home renovation. As each room gets finished, I am decluttering before putting all of the furniture back. Big job with lots of donations happening 😊. It's so satisfying to get each room done. Remodeling is certainly a long process. I am not a fan of rugs in dining areas, too much work to keep clean, just lazy that way. Have a wonderful weekend.

It sure does feel like I’m with a friend when I watch your videos. I don’t have a rug under our table, I agree, it’s one more thing to clean. Your floors are gorgeous, I couldn’t cover them! My husband & I have been in our fixer upper for 3 1/2 years, we take it one project at a time, it’s better on the budget & we don’t feel overwhelmed. You’re right, enjoy the journey ☺️

For the rug I don’t have where we eat because I don’t want to clean as you said. The only rugs I have I place them only on the winter time in the living room where we seat and they are wash able. Very good rugs made out of cotton and you can wash them. This is life changing!
