I didn't know this awesome band yet. Lione has just joined Angra which is a famous brazilian band and they just recorded a new album. Then I started to search for others Lione's jobs and I got here. That is so great!.
Wait wait... a Rhapsody of Fire music video that does NOT feature hilariously bad special effects or a batshit-crazy cameraman who can't keep his finger off the zoom button? WHAT MADNESS IS THIS?!! Seriously though, cool video.
Michael Welsh It still has some of the favourites, though. Weird angles, soft focuses, columns obstructing the view, over-exposures and lens-flares... And there's quite a lot of random zooming going on, as well as random landscape stock footage. But yeah, it needs more cheap swords and meteors and dragons and shit.
I mean, it’s still got way to much lens flair, but it is severely lacking random naked chicks, $3 outfits from a ren fair, oh and did I mention SWORDS?
Staropoli is amazing !!! The record is full of orchestral parts done by him. I only miss the harpsichords, flutes and oboé guitars of the old times =') Staropoli é incrível !!! O registro está cheio de peças orquestrais feitas por ele. Eu só sinto falta dos cravos, flautas e violões oboé dos velhos tempos =')
Sinceramente al principio que salió este álbum no me agradaba, pero ahora para ser sincero no he dejado de escucharlo y la verdad suena muy bien y es uno de mis favoritos, por el hecho que cambiaron mucho el sonido
+a true scotsman uth They were....I miss their cheesefestier selves....now they sound like a generic NWOAHM (New wave of American heavy metal.) band with Fabio on vocals.....the above song almost sounds like Deathcore/commercialized Brutal Death metal....(the guitars/drumming...NOT the Synths.) I do like Brutal Death metal myself but not the direction the genre has been moving in over the last decade....Examples of what I mean ( first riff = not half bad...sounds sort of like proggy DM...but alty. 0:16 = pretty generic modern Deathcore/BDM.....0:53 *facepalm* ...... not going to bother with 1:34 as patterns like these are pretty standard in most extreme metal genres these days...sadly (still towards 1:39 they're pushing their luck.).....) I will be fair to ROF and point out that most modern metal sounds like it WANTS to be BDM.....and plenty of Power metal bands made the move well before ROF did.....there were still patterns here and there I did enjoy...I just wish they'd dump this NWOAHM crap out of their music completely (even if they just revert back to their older Production style.)
For some kinda strange reason I love this album. Is different from everything they've done before. Obviously Luca isnt there anymore and that's a factor but the vibe of the album is strange, dark but still love it
It has some Unholy Warcry vibe. The video I mean. I think that Alex is taking Rhapsody to the right direction again. Hopefuly the next album will be even better than DWOS. It was a great album already, but If he keeps taking the band to the direction of the past albums, the next will be even better imo.

Digamos que Luca era el alma de la banda en cierto modo... "Dark Wings Of Steel" y su nuevo trabajo "Into The Legend" no me impresionaron, pero me gustaron. No más de eso. Debo admitir que personalmente me gustó más el ultimo trabajo de Luca Turilli's Rhapsody "Prometheus Symphonia Ignis Divinus", que el de Rhapsody. :/ Luca está buscando nuevos horizontes musicalmente y me cautivó mucho su trabajo nuevo. Pues sinceramente, a mi me gusta este Rhapsody. Ya se que Luca era parte del alma del grupo, pero prefiero este rollo Sympho/Prog Power mas que el Neo-Classical Power que antes manejaban, simplemente me suena con mas cuerpo, mas agresivo. Solamente les falta pulir un poco la union de elementos Prog Metal y Sympho Metal. Hay a veces que tanto virtuosismo termina empalagando, como un buen dulce. Hay que saber mezclar la agresividad metalera con la elegancia clasica y, para mi, el anterior Rhapsody era mucha elegancia y poca agresividad, en este, sin embargo, veo mas equilibrio. Me da igual que ahora sean un grupo Sympho Power al uso, mientras que lo hagan bien.
Muy buen punto :) Honestamente me gustaba más cuando Luca estaba. A pesar de que, como usted dice, Rhapsody no era un grupo agresivo, saciaba esa necesidad con otros grupos (como Amorphis). Lamentablemente, ni Rhapsody Of Fire, ni Luca Turilli's Rhapsody me gustan u.u Alex y Luca, ambos se complementaban, pero ahora esas dos partes separadas, mi oído no los aprecia tanto como antes. In my opinion, the current guitarist has a long way to reach Turilli, however it is very good, the essence that gave the keyboard combination of Staropoli's voice Lione and guitar Turilli was unique, but Rhapsody despite already not have to get Turilli band remains unsurpassed.

I just wanted to make a clarification on what Arne Wold said. Luca Turrili was the founder of the band and the leader until he and Alex split. Luca Thrilling was originally the leader and Alex took over when he left. Just wanted to make that clear.
i love this album in general i think staropoli gives a more guitar sound while the symphonic elements remains great as always!i think its my favourite album of all rhapsody discography.the tracks are straight heayvy symphonic without any unesessary parts for just be a 16min song.
