- Grant Ward was the devil within Shield.
This is his journey throughout Season 1.
The song The Devil Within describes who Grant Ward was on the outside in Season One. It's a bit like his theme song I guess.
The lyrics were spot on I think. That's why I decided this was the correct song for Ward.
And sorry for so much Skyeward.

This is perfect.
The only thing I'd change is add a couple more May/Ward scenes - like the one at the end of TRACKS after Skye is shot and May takes his hand and tries to console him. It was getting obvious she was slowly developing feelings for him in spite of herself, and boy, did he manipulate her all the way through.
I loved ward from the beginning I loved when they showed that he was hydra it made the show a whole lot better and I think he is better with hydra and some people think that he is a bad guy because he don't want to trade on shield but John gave him everything when he was a teenager and he said he owes John his whole life

Having built up such an interesting character in Ward I really hope the writers continue to let him develop. I personally hope for a redemption arc, but that's only because he would be terrifying as a true Villian (as your vid points out) and would need to die. God that was brutal for my shipper heart. ;)

You know I disliked Ward from the beginning. I found him stale and boring. He was just the typical young, hot, super spy cliche who was a "badass." I was hoping he'd get killed off as a surprise and let the audience feel a sense of loss.
But then they revealed him as a HYDRA spy and suddenly he became a lot more interesting. The only thing I can think of is I don't want Ward to die. Not when I'm finally finding him interesting.
