Indeed, take away the jokier songs like "Don't Mess Me Up" and "My Marge" and the last Move album sounds quite similar to ELO's first album (albeit without strings).
The RRHOF implicitly honors the other work of artists when they are recognized in one particular group setting. In this case, Roy Wood's work with The Move and Wizzard, as well as the fact that Roy provided the initial platform for Jeff Lynne to perfect ELO is but one example. Another was the previous induction of Traffic which implicitly honored Stevie Winwood's earlier work with Spencer Davis and his later work as a solo artist, as well as the solo work of Dave Mason. However, it is the responsibility of those being honored in their speeches to name those who made significant contributions in the group being awarded who did not receive official recognition. There are too many examples of these omissions.
Agreed. Jeff left out Mik and Kelly who were totally part of the ELO sound. They feature in many of the misic videos , yet were 100% omitted from his speech! How dare he!
This was a missed opportunity to have 10538 overture performed live by Jeff and Roy just like the studio version. (But don’t get me wrong this was still AWESOME to see!)
ElO and Jeff Lynne should have been one of the first bands inducted , its absolutely Insane they just got in when they did , waaaayyy too much BS politics going on there
You are 100% correct. Fning rappers (talentless BS) are in there. Doesn’t say much for the hall except their a bunch of enablers giving handouts again to garbage.

Brilliant, one of the most genious men that lives. I feel shame for the extremely fortunate, grumpy looking, elitist sitting in front of two humble, wonderful musicians; Jeff Lynne and Dhani Harrison, they look as if they need help with their bowels.
I would've liked to have seen ALL former members inducted (i.e. Bill Hunt, Steve Woolam, Wilf Gibson, Colin Walker, Mike de Albuquerque, Mik Kaminski, and Melvyn Gale as well) rather than an arbitrarily selected few. Same goes for all groups inducted.
Unfortunately, from what I've heard, Mr. Blue Sky only wanted him, Bevan, Wood, and Tandy inducted. The Hall had initially considered including Kelly, Hugh, and Mik Kaminski (since they were on the most famous albums) but Jeff requested they be excluded. A real shame.
Always wounderd who that guy was that I would see in different videos with other people,, well now I know,, he is a genius and I'm a moron for not knowing who he was
Roy Should NOT have been invited…I can think of 5 others who weren’t even acknowledged and should have been inducted…. Jeff can Piss Off for not even mentioning Kelly, Mik, Hugh, Mike or even Louis Clark….those Lads helped create the ELO magic which hasn’t been duplicated with Jeff’s current ELO

Indeed, take away the jokier songs like "Don't Mess Me Up" and "My Marge" and the last Move album sounds quite similar to ELO's first album (albeit without strings).
Never heard Jeff talk so much .he usually says very little and quietly too.
Very nice to see Roy Wood there, although it would’ve been nice to see Richard and Bev as well.
I just love them
The RRHOF implicitly honors the other work of artists when they are recognized in one particular group setting.
The glorious elo sound we all love was thanks to Louis Clark...and no mention to the late Kelly Groucutt.
Yes ...they are all good
...thanks for mentioning Kelly
God Bless you Jeff Lynne !
This was a missed opportunity to have 10538 overture performed live by Jeff and Roy just like the studio version. (But don’t get me wrong this was still AWESOME to see!)
Glad Roy Wood was there.
Long overdue. Wish they could have gotten this decades ago when the band was still on the same page.
I always think it's weird now to see Jeff Lynne and Roy Wood up there together. 1972, I think was the last time.
They are good friends.
I wish bev was there so damn much. Still wonderful though.
Jeff just saw you guys in Sacramento and it was an amazing show, please take care of yourself and keep touring we love your music as much
today as we did 50 years ago. #maga2020
the last of the wilbury's to get inducted
Dylan
The set is complete!
I wish it could be Christmas everyday
Makes you proud to be a Brummie.
welcome to the hall of fame jeff lynne elo
Nice speech by Roy Wood.
Love you ELO my lifes music soundtrack
Brilliant, one of the most genious men that lives. I feel shame for the extremely fortunate, grumpy looking, elitist sitting in front of two humble, wonderful musicians; Jeff Lynne and Dhani Harrison, they look as if they need help with their bowels.
this speech was great. i found it amusing to hear about his parents. good for him, he certainly deserves it.
Its awesome to see Jeff Lynne speak. 👍👍👍
Great Jeff!
Someone honored also to the late Kelly Groucoutt ,Mike Edwards and Hugh McDowell at that time?
Not much of an ELO induction. I’m a fan so I know it was mostly Jeff but how do you not mention Kelly?
Jeff and Roy have ever lost their Birmingham accents, good on you both.
The entire band from the prime years should have been inducted.
Always wounderd who that guy was that I would see in different videos with other people,, well now I know,, he is a genius and I'm a moron for not knowing who he was
Not your fault. Jeff Lynne never sought of fame and recognition. He let his music do the talking.
Where are the other members?
Way overdue finally
3:22 someone screams "GROUCUTT!!"
Yes😮
Dammit he should have screamed it louder
Love.
Love Jeff Lind
Singing in wster towers cool too
The Travelling Wilburys 💘
please come to Brazil!!!!
Finally
...just the odd ciggy round the corner...
Too bad Bev didn't attend it.
I love The Move. ELO... they're alright. But lemme tell you, in England in the mid 60s, The Move were the shit.
its funny how jeff sounds a lot like ozzy ...i guess its a birmingham rockstar thing...
Pity it wasn't given when Kelly was with them. RIP Kelly
Yes i agree ELO should have been inducted decades ago. Rock Hall dragged their feet.
Still waiting on The Moody Blues...
He mentioned bev why is nobody making a big deal
Did the audience not understand what he was saying? Ciggy, Bugger???
where is Bev and Mik and Richard and Hugn and Melvyn???? RIP Kelly and Mike
RIP Hugh who just passed away a few days ago and Richard is very sick. Sad.
It’s Mik’s violin on those songs - he should have been included.
@@sumego4180 Jeff chose to ignore ALL of them. A selfish egomaniac!
I wish they were Richard and Bev too, that will be more great
Groucutt!
Where’s the rest of the band?
Mostly in heaven.
