Mike extremely thank you for the video. The one you bought from the market from the little lady trying some English is called "coffee husk" it is a cover over the coffee bean. In areas around Harar it is used as a tea, you have been there, if you had asked about "hojja ashara", they should have told you. I am learning a lot about my home country, Ethiopia, leave alone the world from your videos.
5:38 Those look like coffee husks. The dried (sweet) berry of the bean. My parents had a grain mill in the Philippines (rice corn, but sometimes coffee or chocolate), and those look exactly like the husks/chaff you get after processing the beans. We usually mix it with soil to use as fertilizer (same with rice husks, corn cobs can also be re-used as mushroom growing media).

Hey Mike, you're one of the true and the nicest of the blokes to have around giving us a neutral perspective to look at things rather than being ethnocentric mate.Glory to your passion and work.Do these more,we'll always have your back
What do you mean by ethnocentric? He should do better to respect the ppls cultures and manners rather than just jumping into their way of life. For example, some tribes view eye contact or handshakes as disrespectful. No wonder he almost passed out eating salt rock and was made fun of for sitting on the wrong side in the house. He is getting drunk in public. He could definitely do better. Ethiopia is a very poor country because it fought against colonization and Western societies benefit from the ostracism and sufcering of Ethiopia. Ethiopia has more pyramids than Egypt but less tourism. Their headrests/stools, art, and culture are similar to Egypt of antiquity but then black ppl have to listen to Europeans lie and say that Egypt was not a black civilization and not teach African history and contribution as a prerequisite to American History. Africans were sculpting and smelting metals long before the european "bronze age". If ppl learned about the culture before the Greek and Roman empire then ppl wouldn't be so enamored by videos like this or accredit false timelines and technologies that didn't originate with European influence. We could also learn about sustainability. Truly whenever western culture needs inspiration or to learn they return back to indigenous ppl to take what they have and don't give nearly enough if anything back.
Hey mike iv recently found your channel and ur honestly living my dream of hanging out and experiencing these old tribes and their cultures and ican only hope i have the chance to experience these people and cultures one day

Well one easy thing is to not be disrespectful and it's a common adage that says when in Rome do like the Romans so this person is in a village and he's not practicing or studying any of the cultures that those people are doing he clearly did not go somewhere where they were preparing and drinking coffee and followed that easy procedure so he has no idea what he even bought how to use it where to use it what utensils in the rituals that are used to make the coffee he has someone step by step in his face on video do a ritual involving tobacco and he purposely did not follow instructions the man is legitimately rude it doesn't matter if you were in France chugging wine and sloppily eating all the cheese you know the man is rude he can't follow what the hospitality is providing he can't observe and follow what people are doing there is no language barrier this is the same problem if he was in anyone's house in the whole world he would make the same mistakes because he's an obnoxious white man, couldn't you clearly see how insulted the woman that sold him the coffee shells was she did speak in English and he kept pressing her and she told him no I do not speak English yet she was able to still answer politely and correctly and sell him the product but you could see in her eyes and attitude that she was not happy and joyful that this person was asking these questions and demeaning her and demeaning her intelligence by not being able to speak English when he could not communicate one word in her language, it was the same with the man that they picked apart as the guide explained what being dressed up is apparently because that was some type of thing that they needed to do to this man who was clearly also bothered by being observed and on video and being judged all of these things were demeaning to these people
Next time I'll be more careful eating rocks and spitting coffee.

I love these so much!!! So many angles of knowledge & its so cool. Thank you for filming these awesome experiences!🤩
Great to see these places that I'd never actually want to visit, even if I was paid millions to do it. And getting validated in how correct that decision is.
Mike you are my real inspiration you have motivated me to fight with my fears and travel all over the world, learn new things,be friendly with others and enjoy every moment of life I used to be a person who had social anxiety, I used to sit at the corner instead of enjoying the beautiful time with new people but now after watching your video I have learnt a lot from you,I have seen many UA-camrs who have lots of subscribers even if they don't have good content but I genuinely think that you're the real UA-camr who brings positive changes in others life so I really really hope that you will have more better future ahead and I also hope that you will upload many more videos like this and at last thank you very very much for motivating people like me all over the world I wanted to end this comment but I just couldn't I don't think that you will see this comment but if you did then hii mike😁😁😁
The ladies on the coffee market saying Abaye Dena neh ? they meant how are you. Big love from Ethiopia
Thanks for your translation brother 😀💚
It’s just nice we still have people who like to travel and document things .
The coffee is the dried fruit of the coffee bean. Coffee beans grow on trees with a shell that’s red when ready for picking. In Panamá we call it cascara de cafe which is (coffee shell)

Dita, I'm deeply sorry for what you're going through. When I read a comment like that I wish I had the magic to take your pain away. But all I can do is let you know that others care and wish you healing and tranquility. I hope one day you take a dream vacation to Africa and Nigerian and meet good people, make new friends, laugh, get filled with wonder from the beauty of their lands and have a great adventure. And that it gives you a renewed sense of peace and strength.
why are you publically commenting that you were raped on this video?
Jesus Christ can heal you! Call His holy name and let Him put in you His joy, peace, & love.

Oh gosh! Experiencing a different culture is so awesome! Thank you for sharing this! It doesn’t always go to plan 😂
I love how the women have their hair done! It’s such a unique hairstyle
I stumble on this channel just when I am short of good channels. Great content man.
A new fan from Nairobi, Kenya 🇰🇪🇰🇪
I really enjoy the way you conduct yourself when visiting diffrent cultures. That is probably the reason you get to see and learn so much about these cultures an peoples. So you will make some unfortunate mistakes. No problem there you are learning an sharing. Thank you so much.
your videos are so wholesome, thank you. after every video i like to tell my family about what i've learned. sometimes they're impressed and sometimes they just say "ok" roll their eyes like they don't believe me. nonetheless...i wont stop educating my family about Africa.
im ethiopian and i have never seen or known this part of my country you inspired me thanks you from luxumbourg
This was a great episode it’s amazing how others live and how blessed some people are that take things for granted much love to the hamer tribe beautiful people ❤️❤️
I’ve never seen someone so comfortable engaging without the language to navigate. I think people everywhere sense your humility, sense of humour and open heart and just naturally can sense your good intentions and vibes.
It is so beautiful 😍in Africa...The way of life there is so different and inspiring! Every region/tribe is unique. We all need to see more parts of the world to have a better connection with this world and the people in it! Breaking barriers of patience and understanding.
I remember the first time I ever put a dip in high school (was also my last time), I literally passed out for an hour and a half and threw up 3 times. Tobacco sickness is one of the worst.
Another video with pure vibes the world needs more of this after all vibes can cross over into the spirit world but not material things so store up the spiritual vibes to carry on the journey to your real home.
Thanks!
wow mike ! you are amazing person. Thank you for visiting my country Ethiopia. your understanding and respect for the culture is heart warming .
Whenever I watched your videos I'm amazed by your presentation. The way you approach, and communicate with the people is absolutely amazing.

Mike I have appreciated in all yr videos bt I really wanna appreciate yr buddy Ben.. He has been amazing.. He knows his role.. He knows his job.. He makes sure he doesn't take much room in the frame but he is so genuinely happy whenever he is in it... Kudos to u both brother.. Much love from India🇮🇳
Love all your videos. Love all the people and these cultures I never would have known about. Keep doing your thing, I’m eager to see what comes next.
You're exactly right! I'm from Saudi Arabia and we also enjoy a similar drink made out of coffee husks here which looks just like that
Mike, love your raw and unfiltered filming, it’s very refreshing to watch your videos!! Keep’em coming and all the very best!! Your subscriber for life!!
I really like your adventures..so cool to meet so many different people.
I’m new to the channels but I must say one of the better ones I’ve watched on UA-cam.. great job.. thanks for the great contents..
Mike, just want to let you know what an inspiration you are. Currently have “looking for my partner to go on adventures like fearless & far on UA-cam with me” on my dating profile haha I’ve been talking to a sweet girl for a few months and we might do a 3 month backpacking trip around Europe together. Never thought I’d do anything to push my comfort zone like this.
Congratulations! I wish you luck, and a wonderful journey!
If you ever gonna hit Poland, around the Poznan area, hit me up. I can show you around :)
have a wonderful trip and be safe! 😁
Great videos, Mike ! Greetings from Oaxaca, Mexico🇲🇽
This tribe is so similar to my Kalenjin tribe in every way, except the language. Love it!
Great video the people seem so welcoming, friendly, happy and nice.
I am new to the Channel, from Saint John, New Brunswick. Love the content and the ideology you portray.
Eyyy bro! I'm from Fredericton!
@@fearlessandfar I saw that. Made me quite intrigued. Can't say there are many UA-camrs from out neck of the woods and it is awesome to see someone being so successful at at. Congratulations, it shows with hard work and dedication anything is possible. As you say keep chasing your fears.
Uttam
I went there a couple weeks ago on a business trip and the people there were all insanely nice to us, compared to what I'm used to in Ontario and Quebec!
The special coffee is a coffee shells. Very special flavour and very healthy. My parents from Yemen and they usd to drink it too. We name the coffee "gishr".
Once again amazing video brother!!!🔥🔥🔥 Love how you are able to really showcase their way of living. Always great seeing and learning about different cultures. Cant wait for the next one ! 🙏🏽
As an Ethiopian am proud. I like the way you enjoy every single moment🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for sharing my beautiful Ethiopian 🇪🇹Omo Hamer ppl .
Hey mike iv recently found your channel and ur honestly living my dream of hanging out and experiencing these old tribes and their cultures and ican only hope i have the chance to experience these people and cultures one day
WOW, love Africa.. .. never got to travel the world Mike . .. I thank you endlessly for showing the world, with your curious innocense. Respect you dearly
I wish I could afford to travel, you look like you had a lot of fun there. I didn't realize what a cool place Ethiopia could be, the people seem so friendly and inviting. Although it will never be filled, I'm adding a trip to Ethiopia to my bucket list.
Such wonderful and beautiful people in Ethiopia. Thank you for showing this video of these wonderful people.
Awesome video in beautiful ETHIOPIA 🇪🇹
That's an ancient land with many different cultures and People's I like the wild life out there 😃
Some real genuine smiles from the amazing people, is it just me or do they seem much happier than the average person.
Mike I've been following you way before you reached 1 million subs and let me tell you that your videos get better and better every time. It's tradition at this point that once I get a notification that you posted a new video I immediately plan a snack & show time just to watch it haha. Sometimes my fiancé even joins in. Thank you for doing what you do and exploring and showing us who don't have the opportunity yet to travel as much to see the world thru your lenses. Appreciate you man keep exploring, keep meeting new people and keep impacting lives much love my brother all the way from Philadelphia !
This guy is amazing, living a dream! He has a phenomenal way with people and establishes a repore in a remarkable intuitive way! Right away those wooden stools so beautifully made and also serve as a way to rest one's head I've seen similar discovered in the ancient Egyptian tombs and wonder about the history of ideas and from where the tradition emerged, one of many centuries, thousands of years. Thanks for a great adventure! I liked and subscribed!
I made the same mistake and the only thing that got me out of this state was drinking cold milk. I thought I was going to die and the effect of the milk ended the feeling like it was magic.
😃👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻…great!…thank you so much for sharing your happy and wanderful experiences with us !…👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤗
am Ethiopian and I haven't even seen it, you're lucky man! thanks for all the respect you showed to my people!
I cried of laughter at 17:30 😂 Thanks for the video Wetamba
This is where we come from, thank you both for sharing. Indeed, a beautiful culture!
That Is So Good Of You And You Can Get More Cultire In Other Parts Of Ethiopia
Ut Is What I Recomend As An Ethiopian
Jesus Is God. I am Ethiopian living in Nashville, Tennessee. love your video.
You should investigate what we call here in Iowa.. duckweed. All it takes is any kind of water clean or dirty and it grows on top of the water in Louisiana swamps in Iowa fish ponds. It is a super nutrient and replaces itself 48 hours. And it has vitamin B12. You could in starvation and every village you visit that has water.
It’s amazing how kids in remote areas don’t need toys they just need someone to play with.
That's what we call happiness
"It's amazing how kids in remote areas act like kids"
This is the best! So amazing 🤩 and great to watch! Makes me want to get out and travel again!
I love how no matter where in the world you may be....the children there want to be chased around too. 😚
Thanks for the video 📹 this is Africa we are happy and appreciated anyone with happiness
I know it’s not quite the same in terms of extremity but your videos have inspired me to take my first solo adventure. I made a video of it on my channel and I thought of your videos throughout for motivation and it was the best time of my life! Thank you so so much! ☺️☺️☺️
Nothing like sitting around drinking coffee and seeing your friend's sister's nipples? What a good life. 🙃
Don't go solo in Africa. Bad idea for MANY reasons
Visiting Ethiopia after watching this video. Great video
Word of advice, never touch a black person's hair. No matter where you are in the world. Great vid.
We aren't so sensitive and insecure with our hair in Africa,
What if you asked permission first? If they said yes?
Here's a tip: add a small amount of cold water to hot coffee to bring the leaf and shells to the bottom
Ethiopian people are beautiful 🖤
Just absolutly amazing. Thank you for making this video my friend
Him picking up someone’s hay and getting fussed out is the funniest thing. 😂
Dude thanks for the upload and sharing with us , as always it is brilliant , Until the next episode take care , Regards from Dublin Ireland
Well...at least you learned from that experience. It's absolutely bonkers. Lol!!
Quick shout out to Mike - I am going on my own adventure as I went through a bad really bad divorce. It's time to spend some time alone and also having the fun of my life!!
#Fearlessandfar
I am from India. I watched your total videos and very enjoying
Widzę że dużo podróżujesz fajny kontent
Oh no, oops... this is too funny! I love the editing on the part where you got too buzzed. 😂
It shows you how difficult it must be to stay respectful when in foreign lands!
Well one easy thing is to not be disrespectful and it's a common adage that says when in Rome do like the Romans so this person is in a village and he's not practicing or studying any of the cultures that those people are doing he clearly did not go somewhere where they were preparing and drinking coffee and followed that easy procedure so he has no idea what he even bought how to use it where to use it what utensils in the rituals that are used to make the coffee he has someone step by step in his face on video do a ritual involving tobacco and he purposely did not follow instructions the man is legitimately rude it doesn't matter if you were in France chugging wine and sloppily eating all the cheese you know the man is rude he can't follow what the hospitality is providing he can't observe and follow what people are doing there is no language barrier this is the same problem if he was in anyone's house in the whole world he would make the same mistakes because he's an obnoxious white man, couldn't you clearly see how insulted the woman that sold him the coffee shells was she did speak in English and he kept pressing her and she told him no I do not speak English yet she was able to still answer politely and correctly and sell him the product but you could see in her eyes and attitude that she was not happy and joyful that this person was asking these questions and demeaning her and demeaning her intelligence by not being able to speak English when he could not communicate one word in her language, it was the same with the man that they picked apart as the guide explained what being dressed up is apparently because that was some type of thing that they needed to do to this man who was clearly also bothered by being observed and on video and being judged all of these things were demeaning to these people
The children at the end were precious ❤
I felt bad for you when you were chewing that tobacco I know how you felt bro.
Am enjoying every bit of the moment with your videos, it's so amazing 🤩 your personality is great. The way you guys blinds with the locals is dope 🔥
It’s so interesting that no matter how much humans have, we all seem to gravitate towards similar activities whether we realize it or not.
Dude livin the life!!! Big Love to the Hamer Tribe...So Cool. Great travels and great health to all.
Mike with tobacco rush 🤣😭🤣
Mike is living my dream life, love your vedios much love from keny🇰🇪
