Gorges du Nan, Vercors (4K drone) - Magnificent French Roads

- Vercors to us a truly a special place with it’s unique landscape. And then there are these magnificent roads! Gorges du Nan is among our most favourite places. This awesome road was carved into the rocks in 1894.
Fortunately and unlike some other terrific roads in the area that are closed (Les Grands Goulets + Gorges des Ecouges) we were glad to see a note that this road is undergoing some major maintenance works worth € 330.000 in autumn 2018.
After 2011 and 2014 by motorcycle October 2018 was the 3rd time for us to come here. This time by car and we recorded some great drone footage.
We truly wish and hope the French government will maintain the awesome cultural heritage of balcony roads in Vercors and other places in the France.

France is not only Paris, Marseille, Lyon or Bordeaux. France is a multitude of places all completely different and more beautiful than each other. My country is so beautiful, welcome to all who want to visit it, you will not be disappointed. Belle video !
You are right, France is such a beautiful country with many awesome places and sceneries. But not only the landscape is great, also the people are very friendly. I was wondering how that works as a two way road, but then at 2:00 I see the thing to do if you come against an oncoming vehicle is to get out and argue about who will be backing up! 😅(I'm surprised the van driver lost).
Why does the picture go a bit fuzzy at 3:25? I thought it might be 3D, but neither type of 3D glasses did anything.
Glad you caught that moment at 2:00! It's always a bit of a standoff when two vehicles meet on a narrow road. As for the van driver losing, I guess they weren't up for the argument! 😄 As for the image getting blurry at 3:25, that's probably just a problem with the video quality or camera focus, not a 3D effect. The glasses wouldn't help, but it adds some mystery to the scene! Thanks for watching!

Ah so stunning. One of the few places I have still to ride in France, lifetime allowing. Every biker should make a trip to France, Vosges, Vercours, Mont Ventoux, Rhone Alpes, Pyrennes, Auberge, Ardeche,, Ecrins to name a few, its a biker's paradise and almost like a required pilgrimage.

its magnificent, but roads are narrow.. Once I drove in Ecrins National Park.. I still get goosebumps when I recall that voyage

When was it closed? Video showed some vehicles. .
Gorges du Nan was not closed in 2018 when this video was shot. However, some other awesome roads are permanently closed, e.g. Les Grands Goulets + Gorges des Ecouges. It's too sad and I am afraid it's final.

There are two routes through the Canyon du Verdon. Apparently, this is the road carved into the side of the mountain, quite spectacular but not as much as the ridge road on the other side of the canyon(Route des Crêtes) offering a breathtaking panoramic view over 24 km and taking you through a circuit crossing the ridges of the Grand Canyon. The 14 Belvederes reveal the mythical cliffs of the Verdon and offer unforgettable views of the Grand Canyon.
I mean this road is cloesd? Or issnt?
In October 2018 this road was open.
