Then I got into Star Trek and grew long ears Then when I got into Star Wars I developed the force and moved around loads of stuff with my mind. Man, this fantasy stuff is really bad news.

It has nothing to do with anything else. Harry Potter hooked into the stories that resonate with us all, on an instinctual level level, THE VERY SAME WAY THE BIBLE DOES!! Both the bible and Harry Potter appeal to the archetypes in all of us.
I was born in 1998 and I have personally witnessed the effects of Harry Potter on myself and my peers. I had all the books, video games and an entire Lego Hogwarts set. I feel that Harry Potter opened doors to my particular generation to want to explore more into dark magic and witchcraft. Harry Potter has led to the twilight saga, the Chronicles Of Narnia,Lemony Snicket series, The Sorcerers Apprentice and many more films and franchises. My bottom line is that Harry Potter has completely seduced my generation into elements that should not be tampered with, but what better way to get someone hooked onto something than at a young age when their minds are constantly developing and they soak up everything like a sponge. As a former Harry Potter fan, I'm here to say, stay away from it and other movies/books like it because all it is is a trap to lead you to the far left like it has to my generation of peers who all grew up on Harry Potter.

There is NOTHING wrong with Harry Potter. The kids are just in a stage of fantasy and imagination. They are not going to cook little Hansel & Grettles in their ovens. Neither JKR nor her books promote evil doings. They are stories, and people can relate to them. My grandmother who is very Christian took me to see the last two films and even bought me one of the books. I don;t know much about Wicca, so I won;t judge. If these people want to judge, why don't they do their own research.
