    Hi Harry.
I think my wife is convinced that ENTJ is relatively accurate for me according to this video.
This video also helped her to realize that INFP is a better fit for her than ISFP or ISFJ.
You ACTUALLY built on Jung… you didn’t tear him completely down and then claim you are basing on him.
You learned from him… and are modifying ACCORDINGLY.
Many of the things I was noticing wrong… you seem to have gotten there first in many ways.
I have things to add or entertain… but I know that if I build, I will have no choice but to base some building on your enhancements to Jung’s expositions.
    Very, very good job. Truly.
I’ve seen all the systems, entertained them all… and was beginning to envision “my own”, but really, just trying to MARRY what exists into something cohesive… but, they’re all contradictory and fall apart in reality and COMPLETELY DEVIATE from the actual definitions of functions and redefine them completely; leaving unnecessary gaps and overlaps.
    Very well done.

My favorite video of yours yet. The reason being twofold; I enjoyed listening to your function descriptions and then trying to accurately guess which one you were describing, but also because your descriptions make sense without bordering on the same useless stereotypes that we've all read and seen a thousand times by this point.

By watching it yesterday, I was pretty sure that I am a ETS-Nf, and then you came up with that result today after carefully considering the information I sent your way as part of your excellent typing service. When I see the part one of this video, and then now follow up with part two, I cannot be other than impressed by the way you are able to be so specific in the differences between how the functions interact and how that plays out for each type. I think this will help many.
As an ENFP I am particularly happy whenever you give some examples. And this does confirm my type for myself which is always nice :) Though sometimes (always...) my mind thinks I am an INFP...Or an INFJ....Or an ESFP....But hey, that is just me thinking it is boring to have found out my type...Much more fun to still be searching :)

16:30-10:09 Exactly! I used to work as a secretary, writing thousands of business letters. But when I'm writing one for myself, I feel somewhat insecure! And when I have to create logical structures such as arranging my room or making a schedule, I am overwhelmed by all the possibilities - my thoughts literally diverge! (Now I finally understand what divergent means in this context.) In such instances, talking to someone else helps me, even if the other person doesn't answer. So it seems I'm an INFP.
By the way, I think the timestamp for Extraverted Thinking should be at 16:30 because it's then when you begin to talk about it.

Thank-you. While I’ve read your CPT book and so was pretty confident of the accuracy of my dominant function, looking at the oppositional functions highlighted the trail because I experience more certainty about the areas that need work and don’t come easily than confidence in why what works is successful. I have laser focus on my less successful functions. Maturity, for me, is allowing myself to embrace experiences where I can be effective in these less natural arenas without using someone else’s ruler for my progress. I’m more certain when I’m on my authentic path and what advice/criticism I can lay to the side because it suits someone else’s way of being in the world. A map is only as good as one’s understanding of one’s relative orientation. 🗺🗿🤔

INFP makes a lot more sense to me. I used to be extremely certain of what I believed which was based on a more limbic and emotional basis. Growing up has been about challenging those beliefs. This shows that my extraverted thinking is more of an authoritative or self-directing force. do you have a video on enfj vs enfp? i matched both of these descriptions and those are the two im not sure which i am. lol. im either a very silly and messy enfj or a very logical, grounded enfp
actually, personally i see the types as archetypes that exist in all of our pysches.
i think we fit into groups of types. So, personally, I fit into these types: ENFJ, ENFP, INFP, ISFP, ESFP, ESFJ,
also somewhat ENTP, INTP, ESTP, INFJ, INTJ, ESTJ
but i dont fit into these: ENTJ, ISTJ, ISFJ, ISTP
I'm really good at typing other people but i have a harder time typing myself. I see it as dichotomies. N vs S is intelligence vs athleticism. and T vs F is the head vs the heart. Personally I feel like I'm very well rounded. I am intellectual as well as athletic, etc.
So for you, I would say you are definitely an NF type. You are definitely intellectual, so you have to be either N or T, or both. But you are very emotionally sound, so that indicates you are F rather than T. Usually T types are very grumpy and unwell. So you are likely NF
I think you are probably a J because you are so organized. P types seem to be usually more messy.
And I think you are an introvert simply because you seem somewhat reserved.
So I think you are INFJ, although you could also be ENFJ, INFP, INTJ, etc

Hi harry, just wondering since the start of your typing people career, what would be the rough estimate of those done from the point where you felt were correct, If i do recall correctly you did mention you had some difficulty at first which is totally understandable and something every personality system goes through specifically objective personality who had a very similar experience to you with the ways they described it in comparison with the way you described it but then it is something that happens to invoke change in the right direction and change for the better is always a positive thing for more precision.

@@CognitivePersonalityTheory There does seem to a big contrast in the ways the systems type people as well, especially socionics and vultology. For example there's an individual called Odim who has his own channel NiNe show typed as a ni dom as seen with the interview with binyamin tsdalik A advocate for OP and other interviewers who collectively agree that he is that type from what ive learned and he was typed that by OP but socionics typed him as a infp in their systems (strange however with the difference in the schools of thoughts, that could be the reason why also a certain bias would influence the thoughts of the interviewers of course, regardless still a little weird).
Another individual Erik Thor ,who you've commented in his video, was typed as a entp by OP but in my opinion didn't seem like the entps that i've met however with the nuances taken into consideration it's entirely possible there's a lot more beneath the surface of a individuals behaviour outside of the cameras and their true antics on a hourly basis for example but what do i know ahaha just a kid doing an unnecessary amount of exploring.
I mean it does kind of come to point of how do we determine what's authentic and true verses what's not. there does seem to be a lot of conflicting views for sure

Hey Harry, you mentioned that oppositional Si can present itself by an individual wanting to be as authentic as possible and present themselves to the fullest extent of who they are. Could you elaborate on why this is a result of oppositional Si? In another ENTP video you mentioned that ENTPs have a tendency to mask themselves in accordance to the social situation, so I´m not very sure as to how I should understand these types. Were you only referring to ENFP with the whole authenticity description?

    • @CognitivePersonalityTheory
      @CognitivePersonalityTheory 2 роки тому +1

The authenticity is relative to the codec Si is assigned to - the ENTP would be the reverse of the ENFP as a result, and therefore concerned more with intellectual authenticity than that pertaining to character. There is naturally an overlap (as there is with functions themselves) but ENTPs tend to prioritise the integrity of their frameworks.

i find that when i'm working on a goal, i can get carried away with minute details and miss out on actually accomplishing the goal. but it works really well for playing the piano. i can easily understand what needs to be improved and i can see more layers to a piece than i think most people listening to the music will even appreciate. at a certain point it will make absolutely no difference to most people but i will still see the difference and it will matter to me tremendously

    PART 1

    - I gave ESFJ and INTP a not sure but maybe.
    - And I related to INFP fully but wasn’t sure about the whole thing about the past.
I felt these cognitive functions seemed like they could be my dominant one: FI, FE, NI, SI, TI.
I know for sure these aren’t dominant: TE
    PART 2
    - The INFP was really relatable.
    - ISFJ, ENTP, INFJ and ENFJ were relatable.
    - The ESTJ and INTP I wasn’t sure about but were relatable in some way.
I felt these cognitive functions could be my oppositional ones: TE and SE (I felt called out with) SI (was kind of relatable).
I know for sure that I am not uncomfortable with NI, NE, FI and FE.
Tomorrow I will watch the third and see what happens! I’ve been on this journey for a while and got tested as an INFJ then. At first I was like okay I can see that but now I really doubt the use of a test and don’t see how that can be accurate. You wouldn't believe if i told you how many hours i've put into analyzing these first two episodes.
The amount of rewinds, rewatchings and thinking until headache to elaborate what you mean. Just thought you should know.
I've made an excel sheet to assign levels of strength with which i relate to certain types and sub-types and generally found it way easier to filter out information through your descriptions of TYPES than SUB-TYPES. Hense additional rewinding back from the time indicated in the description box.
I've found that throughout your analysis very few descriptions have been thoroughly understood and my head literally hurt as i tried applying the description. However when i did resonate with it, it would instantly click in my head and i'd imagine this is exactly what happens for all types when a person hears you vocalize their perception of reality and way of thinking.
What i figured after stratifying information from both videos upon each other is that i have three levels of relation depending on the numbers i assigned to both Dominant stack and Oppositional function. The max for every description from each video is 3. Here presented are total score ranges for each type from both videos, with a max of 6:
    1. Absolutely nothing in common (0-2) - ENFP, ISFJ, ISTJ, ESFP, ESFJ, ISFP, INTP, ISTP, ENTJ, ESTJ.
    2. Potentially possible (3-4) - ENTP, INTJ, ESTP, ENFJ, INFP.
    3. Quite fitting (5-6) - INFJ
Very looking forward to your Auxillary function analysis to finally have an idea of whats going on here.

I have always wanted to know what my type is or actually I want to know my dominant function , So what I tried was to actually start analysing decision and ideas come to me as a like having eyes on my own mind .
I concluded that I almost can consciously see every introverted function in working but really none of the extraverted ones. After watching these videos I am still very confused about my dominant function . Also , I think u are the first person to really make out the importance of the inferior function ( oppostional funcn ) I think of it as an dominant and opposition funcn as a magnitude just with diff. sign ( +ve and - ve ) indicating what you said as ego complex . Maybe this is the whole idea behind funcn axis . Well tbh , I watched your videos and relate myself with many types , is their a really a method or a framework to actually determine someone's type ? For me I think no matter how I type myself without a external confirmation , i will surely have doubt regarding my type .

Now,i have a question. I'm considering purchasing a typing service from you,but one thing worries me,wich is that i have been diagnosed with both ADD (Inattentive ADHD),and aspergers syndrome (i disagree with the latter diagnosis),i also suffer from anxiety, especially social anxiety. So even when i've taken online tests, trying to find my type,i'm unsure if being 'neurodivergent' would affect the results/my cognitive functions? Do you have any thoughts on this?
I don't know how much you are aware of,or know of the subject of 'neurodivergence' (ADHD/ADD,Aspergers,etc,there is a lot of misunderstandings around it)and as such wheter or not it would have affect on typing someone.

I’m pretty sure I’m an ISTP, but one thing in particular stuck out to me during your section on INTP. I have really been focusing on my people skills and trying to talk to and understand people for ten years now (since the last year of high school). The more comfortable and open I am around people, the more I tend to offend them. It isn’t as much of an issue now, but it still happens. You included this under INTP, but I think this is a general occurrence for Fe oppositional in general. Please correct me if you disagree.

    • @CognitivePersonalityTheory
      @CognitivePersonalityTheory 4 роки тому +2

Hi! Oppositional functions are (in their default state) divergent, and thus concerned more with the observation of Fe in this instance than the interaction with it. The convergence (I.E. the responsibility) dominant functions are informed by the Fe data observed, and as such the greatest responsibility lies in the understanding/consilidation of the Fe data observed.
When these types take responsibility for such emotions it is when they rotate on their dominant axis to become an Fe-dominant, but this usually occurs after the dialogue of the primary convergent functions (I.E. the dominant functions) occurs :)

I'd add a caveat here for anyone utilising this series to ascertain their type is also in conjunction with this series is to look at the various subtypes - diver, convergent, glider etc. I'm typed by CPT as a divergent ENFJ so I couldn't really relate to the hyperdivergent nature of Ti for the ENFJ given the fluidity of my axis albeit what I'm saying is probably indicative of TiNi looking for a holistic overview of reality (ie a framework I can apply to anything lol). So, I'd just advice people to take a holistic overview when considering your type baring in mind the nuances of intratype variation. Also, and probably the biggest piece of advice I'd give to people is not to rule out any type based upon preconceived notions (I guess this goes without saying as I did)...Chances are you'll find one of '5 signs' videos really resonates on some level...I'm waiting for the ISTP to see as a divergent subtype how I relate to this more/or less than the ENFJ 5 signs video. All in all, if you maintain an open mind you'll find something that really resonates with you...I showed my ESFP partner the ESFP video & he found it very accurate on many levels as well as the ENTJ content (he's a convergent ESFP).

What can the sensing functions do that would be on par with the thinking ones. I am actually asking here, what are the sensing functions useful for

I think their theories have a lot of merit, and I consider their popularisation of the 'jumper' type concurrent with the CPT auxiliary. This is a fantastic comment & observation! I think you're onto something here...bare in mind that we all have relative blindspots. I had trouble as a divergent ENFJ (relatively blind Fi-Si) accurately assessing my cognition. INTJs tend to have an easier time with their divergent Se-Te delineating what type they are. I don't think it's specific to Fi-Si however but I think perhaps the objectivity of Te has an easier time, as an authority function for the Te discerning ones type as they're very systematic with how they go about this. Maybe you can rule or INTJ at the very least 😊

@@Tified967 thank you for your thoughtful response ♡ it's been a while since ive delved into the cognitive functions, but I've come to strongly realize that the reason i can't see myself in a consistent framework is simply because what i know is what i know and is subsequently the benchmark for normality in my subconscious mind. anything a little too much or too little in comparison can be labelled under more specified terms. but of course that's all a subjective take from my experience and the opposite of my labels can all be applied to me from the object im labeling. it's all relative. so ultimately what kept me from ever solidifying on a type for myself is not finding a consistently clear and measurable benchmark of meaning for all the terms (that can be defined the same from everyone) to compare myself against

Worth noting there are some caveats here for example, CPT typed me as a divergent TiNi+ ENFJ so the hyperdivergent nature of the oppositional Ti doesn't really apply to me. I'd look at this video & the others in this group to get a generalised over view & the ebook will surely be of some assistance. Of course there's many ways you could go about ascertaining your type preferences - perhaps do a spreadsheet & quantify how much you relate to each statement & see in the context of the other content in this series how much you relate to each type? I appreciate as we get into the nuances of intratype variation it can be difficult...you could also take a look at how the diver, divergent etc subtypes would apply to the types your considering & see if any 'fit' more than others...I guess there's a multiplicity of ways you could approach this. I'd never considered ENFJ before so my biggest peace of advice would be to maintain an open mind & go from there.

And, you're in such a position that the one or two people who could step in and stop you, are people you've been marinating in MBTI for several months, making them selfishly interested in what you have to say about it. You only use language that these one or two people understand, from the unique terms you've taught them over the curse of months that apply specifically to MBTI, thus making everyone else uncomfortable and alienated. You also insist, way before hand, that there's only one thing you can't stand, and it's "people eating while you explain something", although you make this known during an earlier discussion on a topic that everyone is invested in so it sticks. This way everyone is not able to eat while you go on the diatribe.
