hello lisa if your useing the hoe for bulking as well weeding use all sweep points [arrow heads] start with single one tine at the front then work back arrow shape , you may need a couple of land wheels for depth depending on what ground your on😊
Hi Scoatie. Do you mean set up up like a flat lift or similar? We will be using depth wheels at the back where the ducks feet are. I think your sweep points are the same as ducks feet but not sure. My thought was if i have tines at the front i can use them to dig more or less depending on conditions but i have never had to inter row weed before to know what works and what does not. I take it with the arrangement that you mention the headstock will have to be fixed and not pivot like the Kongskilde one does at the moment?
hi lisa . was the mounted hoe to used in between spuds or veg rows ? , i must of miss read what you was going to use on. cant go to deep with it or there will be breakedages ,not first pass anyway , the land wheels will better at front of the frame behind the tractor wheels, if they are put on the back they will be running on the lifted dirt ride unenvenly , unless the tines were turned the other way round on the frame , and put on front on little fordson , dont no wheather it fit on 3 point on front ? you can see what doing out front . i can see it has four rows of tines , you can use three rows with sweeper points as will be more space for the rubbish to pass through . there spare tines then if any get broken.
Hi Scoatie. The kongskilde will be to go down thw rows for potatoes and swedes/fodderbeat thst we grow as animal feed. The wheels are a very good point. We was only mounting them at the back as it was the original insrallation point but as you say when the soil is lifted one side and not the other this will have an effect on the depth. We will have to look at mounting them towards the front like you suggest. I do not know if the link pins are the correct spacing to go on the front but i think they will be as we made adaptor brackets for them to be cat 2 and accept the hook ends. Yes visability out the front will be good for the rows but we are then compacting the soil with the tractor. I am not sure what you mean when you say About running 3 rows and sweep tines?
