So Mugabe's ZANLA guerrillas were supposed to stay in assembly points but many were still opperating as usual, and were complaining because the Auxillaries were responding with sweeps to curb their actions in areas where they shouldn't even be.
Britain had only a token force and the Rhodesian army were told not to intefere.
Sell outs Muzorewa was the one who caused the liberation struggle to take long Inc some of his black soldiers what a pity
Right, that worked out well didn't it?
You have some interesting footage that give a better insight of events. I liked it. Keep up the good work, Thames
11.12 I love this old fella who says "No Mzorewa cheated us. Its time we play the other side of the record" Zimbabwean humor at its highest peak indeed.
morris gavhure that was absolutely brilliant comedy
Thus far nothing beats the interview Pres R Mugabe gave just before the election, where he was asked if he believe in democracy then should accept that the Bishop can win the election. Pres Mugabe's response was both empathic and candid as he said "if Bishop were to win, then the Devil can win the election in Heaven", I have never heard of anything before or since
Mzorewa was much better than 43 years doing nothing
As a American this looks like our 2016 election Hillary or Donald either way you vote..we are fucked
you are right don't want to be fucked come to Zimbabwe great president I hope before I die have the pleasure of meeting this great man.
Muzorewa had backers in South Africa providing him with a jet, his rallies were policed by white police and white people brought their workers to his rallies while his auxiliary forces were led by a British mercenary. Surely, whose side was he on? Whose interests were he advancing? I have often heard that he was a puppet, however this is the first smoking gun that I have seen for myself, not zanu or zapu propaganda…
Mzorewa was much better than 43 years doing nothing now you're suffering all over the world 🌎🌎 because of Mugabe black people never change because of devil
Whatever good intentions Mugabe might have had at the beginning of his rule in Zimbabwe (and trying to be fair - which isn't easy - he did have some good things going on in the beginning, but those quickly faded), in the end he let everyone down - he let them down bad.
Completely agree
he did have good intentions, and he did let us all down. My question is was he acting good all that time though. like Hitler almost in the early years. He seemed to have so much hatred in his speeches after the 90s, almost like he waited for the right time.
@@kaypakaipa8559 Correct...I believe the demons in the man were suppressed in the early years because there was little pressure on him, but the evil (which was there all along) exposed itself when the political pressure increased to the point that he felt threatened.
I don't think he ever had different intentions than the ones he had in the end. However at least in the beginning he had patience.
@@jimmycricket5366 He changed after losing his wife Sally in 1992. She was his anchor and rock. Grace then turned him into a erratic tyrant. As for Gukurahundi, we have to understand that many of the people in ZANU and government in the 80s had fought a brutal war for nearly 15 years. Gukurahundi was a tragedy caused by traumatized war veterans getting paranoid. As much as Mugabe was leader, he didn't have complete control until he became executive president in 1987.
They got what they wanted.
I think the fear in the UK at the time was that this would become a quagmire for Britain. As it happened, I think there was a lot of relief that the British Army could get out quickly and abandon the people of Zimbabwe to their fate.
Typical British of course.
@@meschakbugaye4044 I have to agree with you. And by the way, I am British. But Jimmy Carter and Henry Kissinger should also shoulder the blame...
@@jamesmccann355 100%

Jimmy Carter thought his USA Afro-American VOTES would be jeopardized in his up-coming 1980 US President Election if He (Jim Carter) ended the UN Sanctions [Sanctions did more harm to mostly all the ZIM African People]. Shouldn’t have encouraged Mugabe, it was obvious he’d turn out like he did.
This is a fascinating historical document. It is kind of amazing how open the interviewees are, including Mugabe himself.
I was thinking the same Andrew!
He has cheated us enough. Now we want to play the other side of the record now. And he breaks into laughter together with the crowd. That was really interesting.
Kkkk leader
He knew exactly what he was doing. Mugabe is a manipulator.
Yoooooo my country has never experienced success misfortune after misfortune
I hope soon Zimbabwe will have a taste of good things soon
Tf are you talking about. Rhodesia was the richest country in Africa. Your people turned it back to child slaves and human trafficking, it’s not your country that hasn’t experienced success. It’s the people.
😂😂😂we wanna play the other side of the record
whole lot of crp. i had Smith, Muzuerawa, and Mugsaas my Prime minister. i,ll take Smith
Savior of Zimbabwe.. over the night he made everyone milionare
Below millionaire may be more correct.
the moment when history repeats itself. dejavu anyone.
All roads lead to Roadesia
Muzorewa never stood a chance, even our Black Troopies voted for Bob (the Shonas) and Nkomo (the Matabele) and Sithole was a black crook.
This pastor spoke so eloquent 😂😂👏👏👏🔊zimbabweans to the fullest
He was a bad egg
Comrade Boaz really reherased his lines lol.
The clip on "Comrade Boas" right at the end will give you life, bro :). Seems high on weed, but epic man :D

Zimbabwe has always been beautiful
The people not so much. I’m not racist, but the people have anger against whites that hurt them centuries ago. That anger can make people look ugly. 👺
Why do we give them so much responsibility it is obvious that you’re not capable of running a Country
Chibhodhoro on the drums. 17:58
IS COMRADE BOAZ STILL ALIVE
Muzorewa just had no time.
Mybe was better than 43years doing nothing still like him
hard to get videos.
Muzorewa was a visionary leader. He had people at heart.
Nonsense

@@giftchimukoko1779 how so?
Which people,I think you are abusing the word visionary
But he was a puppet
I guess Trudeau thinks Mugabe tried to sound as British as possible, because he "wished he had been born in Britain".
Like me he was British educated and of a country of British connection. Especially if you were middle or upper class. We all sound like that in certain areas which are not rural farmland areas.
Im from the deep South of the U.S. our accent is essentially British in contrast to typical US dialect but in a reversal of perspective its viewed often as a sign of ignorance and being uneducated.
Mzorewa was slowly dancing in a burning room hahahahah
Pasi na Muzorewa
Pasi na muzorewa say it again please 🙏
Mugabe why do you put on a suit and it's hot , your sweating
Men like Mugabe knows how outer looks influences how people perceive them, that’s why he did this
People can adapt weather conditions.
Missed opportunity
I'm confused, what's happening here
Go back to school and learn your Zimbabwe history
@@mercydenga8816 really?? Why not jus explain or ignore if yu dont hv time to answer
Muzorewa was just a puppet
You got to vote Muzorewa out
Only God could remove Mugabe
What's better
Having a choice?
or no choice?
Is Jeremy Wade narrating this?
Very educative
The Africans before 1980 seemed eloquent well dressed and healthy. Why were they complaining?
Lol
Because that people dont live on eloquence and elegance. Their grievances are well documented in those interviews
@16.00 look how young
go to ur country being poor or rich not ur buznes Zimbabwe is our country
That's really funny because you know you are the first one who wants to come to Britain or America or Europe. The hypocrisy.
That’s pretty racist bro, not allowed to have borders. You have to let all the minorities seize power positions in your country. The same things you expect from us.
#Rip #NatsshaGlenny 😢6 months to live, murdered for power and skin... More than 20,000😢😢😢 people killed and burned alive. Is any soldier in the army or civilian proud of this???? I hate this😢

iiih hondo yaiterroriser guys
Was Mandela a tororo.
I do not understand the reason why Muzorewa's white led auxiliary forces were going into villages in the name of rooting out 'terrorists' when it is clear it was an intimidation strategy.
they were the masters of terror themselves. foolish rapists.
Do I vote for Black or Blacker?
How about green, you may have less problems!!

LOSER mugabe done real well haa joke
Robert Mugabe is a great man gave this country freedom I am a non-african non-black and I thank god for this man. This country is great and I have lived in many parts of the world.

Mugabe fuck is own country well and what they got after freedom?Nothing country almost down.
What did achived Zimbawe after freedom?Country went down no developtments ,No job,No law and rules jne.....if British still rules that country might be one of developt country in the world.
It would be, but the majority would still be oppressed, problem in in most A frican countries is they can t seem to find decent leaders
what is the most painful is the fact that there are no jobs yet more and more kids are going through school. One begins to wonder if this is the true meaning of freedom that came at a terrible cost .
Britain didn't run it
Rhodesians did 💪
@@nolavout5369 “oppressed”
Black on black,Its even more sad that this Mzorewa sellout was a pastor. Mugabe thrived against all odds. Long live Mugabe long live✌️💪❤️
It's good Muzorewa lost, he was a stooge for the oppressive Smith regime, it's sad that the narrator is referring to Mugabe as a terrorist instead of a freedom fighter
All of that struggle and all you achieved was new oppressors who look more like you
Thatcher was a freedom fighter. Mugabe was a corrupt thug who didn’t care about the people, only enhancing his own wealth.
Freedom from what? A working electricity supply?
Thoughts on Gukurahundi?
@@stephenchappell7512 It's a difficult admission, but indeed, Zimbabwe experienced more stability under Smith's governance. However, this doesn't alter the fundamental truth that the land belongs to the indigenous people. Sometimes, it's necessary to return what is rightfully someone's, even with the awareness that it may not be preserved in the same way..
Everywhere in Africa that the pale boys and girls have touched, it has fell to ruin. I remember reading about a time when massive African kingdoms and tribes ruled in the Zimbabwean and South African parts of Africa. A time when ALL Africans prospered with joy, food, and wealth. It only changed when the pale people brought their diseases, war, and barbaric savage culture to our lands. Now look at what Zimbabwe has become after those people stepped foot in it😔
And ended the slave trade
White boys did not invent slavery in Africa,
. But they ended. You are welcome
