LWRC is a nice AR but it doesn’t come close to the Knights. The KAC really is currently the absolute pinnacle in reliability and longevity. I don’t know of another AR that completed a documented 20k rounds without cleaning and not having a single malfunction, I’ll add that barrel also maintained 1.5 MOA after firing 20k rounds. It really is a piece of engineering genius. Rick
but Dudu’s In its own mouth? DI Could we please get a follow up on these? This vid was awesome. Would like to see which has more play in the upper and lowers and update etc. Thank you!
@@theprepperrevelator I don't give a shit if their rifle will go 100k rounds without cleaning. The fact they're overtly bending over consumers is enough reason to disregard them as a manufacturer. Just look at their ambi-safety as a great example of them fucking you. LWRC will charge you $50 for a LPK (minus trigger) with their far superior ambi-safety. Knight's, on the other hand, wants $274 for just their ambi-safety. No other parts included.
@@MrCooper89hahaha LWRC’s safety isn’t far superior if anything it’s average and before you blow your top I own 2 of them (SPR) (REPR)! Having said that shooting a KAC is a far nicer experience as its recoil is much softer which increases your ability to shoot more accurately and efficiently!
Im a fan of the LWRC rifles. Got two of them - M6IC Tricon (piston) and M6IC Di. Both are great and honestly i believe their Di version is the best gun on the market for the price. Specially when you find them around the $1300 price range. Btw, if you add a blue sprinco spring to that LWRC it makes a huge difference. Have them in both of mine. Worth the extra 20 bucks. Also, Arisaka makes a light mount compatible with LWRC's rail and i believe its cheaper than the one LWRC offers.
After shooting the A5 I couldn't imagine anything smoother and I built a 13.7 rosco aero with adj gas block and lightweight carrier that has zero recoil even without a comp. That one was 1200 all in.
The winner here is clear. I have been a LWRC supremacist since my buddy bought one. An IC-DI costs less than half what a DI KAC costs and is every bit as good, with the best ambi lower design on the market, the only 'con' is the proprietary handguard, but that's a tradeoff as well with the strength of the Monoforge receiver, and the DI versions can be changed out for different lengths of handguard to the tune of about $300. If I had to pick between the two, the LWRC wins, but I wouldn't feel underarmed carrying either into a fight, it's simply that you get more bang for the buck with the LWRC as a regular civilian looking for a high grade carbine.
Not sure where you got that SR15, but I can't find any reference that KAC does cerakote from the factory. That cerakote job looks like someone did it in their garage.
If you search for the SR-15 FDE you can see all sorts of different retailers selling this exact gun in FDE with the same over-spray on the muzzle device. KAC has a catalog on their website which includes promotional images of their SR-15 variant with the FDE finish. My guess is it's getting the same treatment that their M110 receives for the military.
My biggest pet peeve is when they use substandard coating over raw metal. At least mil std hard anodize it for a base when the coating inevitably wears off. And they charge more for the colors when they are actually saving money due to a shorter more cost effective process.
Super weird that your KAC came with a Magpul stock. They used to come with the sopmod standard. Their prices really have skyrocketed I remember when you could get one for $1985.
I hate how little effort the finish is given on the KAC. They just spray the exterior while leaving overspray on everything else. The DI version of the LWRC also has a mlok handguard version. I'm wondering why they can't do that for their piston handguard...
All the videos I’ve watched comparing kac sr15 vs xx15 rifle generally gives the technical win to the other brand. Oddly, when picking which one for “shtf” or “if I could only have 1”, they always choose kac. It does have me a bit confused and really makes me think that perhaps it’s not all just hype and name brand.
Your a lucky guy, I will most likely never be able to afford a firearm of the quality as those two. Don't get me wrong I like KAC, but I don't think they are of as high of a quality of LWRC or LMT and the like. Everyone else is going with a semi-mono or monolithic upper rail and KAC is still just using standard uppers, kind of disappointing when they are supposed to be the bee's knee's and look at all that Duracoat coming off, for how much it cost it should not look like that, you are totally in the right for complaining about it. I haven't tried that many rail scales or vertical foregrips, but I just got the BCM Gunfighter Mod 3 VFG and Rail Panels to replace my Magpul RVG and Monstrum Mlok Panels and for $30 altogether $9.99 for the panels and $18 for the VFG, they feel amazing. I'm a big fan of the covers they are super thin and light and just snap in so no hardware to mar your handguard up, but they give you a ton of grip and comfort over the naked hand guard. I'm waiting to get my second BCM VFG to replace this Magpul RVG I got, I'm just not a big fan of Magpul majority of their polymer stuff feels cheap to me even their magazines, I think they need metal feed lips like Lancer does. I got the RVG, MOE grip and MOE stock from Magpul and I don't like any of it stock wobbles a ton, even with some electrical tape on the buffer tube and the VFG is only comfortable if you grab the whole thing, so I think it's meant for more SMG type firearms with not much room for your hands on the handguard, instead of as a handstop like the BCM is designed for. The grip is crap barely any texture to grab onto when wet and it has a similar angle to the A2 and I prefer my grips more vertical so going to replace that as well with either a BCM or B5 grip. I want to get the B5 precision stock or a Luth MBA-3 to replace this cheap MOE but I'm temporarily unemployed so going to be awhile before I can afford a more pricey item like that.
@@lucastonoli3256 You should choose your words differently KAC is more accurate and lighter, more reliable since LMT is usually over-gassed, but a monolithic rail is going to be stronger than a 2 piece that is just facts and LMT has ambi lowers KAC doesn't. They both have redesigned enhanced BCG.... They are both Gucci weapon systems and each have their pro's and cons, but a 2 piece is going to be more "durable" than a 2 piece.

As much as I like Knight's armament, they're absolutely gouging the fuck out of consumers. Their safety alone for a standard AR-15 is almost $300. What the hell is that? LWRC will sell you their ambi-safety with all their detents, springs and pins for like $50 and it's probably the best safety lever on the market.
@@dadbodoperator2466Yeah. Don't get me wrong, I like Knight's for certain things, like their rails, their sights and I'm currently on hold for one of the Mk23 suppressors, but they're definitely what you expect for a government contractor.

LWRC all day and all night.
One thing with lwrc receivers is they are double struck in the forge to theoretically create a denser aluminum.

I'll stick with my Geissele Super Duty for $2,100! An amazing rifle minus the old grip angle. The action is amazing!!
Great gun too!
If you buy them on sale, I think the super duty is easily the best deal you can find on an AR.
I got the enhanced m6ic and also the older M6A2 great guns
I don't think the issue of a gas block coming loose is a DI issue. You'd have the same problems if a gas block moved on a piston gun.
I'm new to the channel and have been enjoying your stuff. Keep it up DadBod!

Try the H2 Hydraulic buffer in your LWRC and that’s all you need
I gotta get my hands on one of those.
What did you notice was the differences? Had a hydro on an old ar and loved how there was no sound .
I would love to see the companion to the HK MR556A1 with these two rifles. I have an HK MR556A1 and considering get either the KAC SR15 or the LWRC.
Lemme borrow that HK and I'll be happy to do a comparison. 😆

Just seen the knights going for $4,999.99 on GB. So you didn't do so bad as in an investment. I'd do the lwrc over the knights.
Great video
Thanks my friend!!
As I commented on another one of your LWRCi review videos the AFG has a QD spot.
