+Sean The Prodigy Its a little different, the actual story is that when it first happened the overseer was the one to tell them they had to sacrifice one person a year and everyone was so mad they forced the overseer to do it and from then on they were connected. Every year they would have an election for a new overseer and at the end of that year he would walk down and sacrifice himself. Over time the voting became manipulated and people started creating voting blocs and used those to pressure people into doing whatever they wanted. For instance a group used their voting power and control to force a woman into sexual favors or they would elect her husband as overseer. Long story short she does bad stuff so everyone wants to vote for her so she dies, she pushes through a lotto system completely destroying the voting causing the blocs to get mad. Basically the people left after the war were not friends and were on opposite sides of the issue but were sick of the killing. They confront the computer together only for the computer to tell them they've been released for standing up for the value of human life. Everyone feels sick with themselves because of the irony and decide they don't deserve to live, last person chickens out and runs for the waste land. I found the details to be the most interesting aspect personally and figured other people might like it spelled out more.

Did you really forget to mention Vault 101 and its connection to the book 1984 by George Orwell? The entire scenario of the vault, its inhabitants, the overseer, and even the name of the Vault itself are taken from 1984. In the book, room 101 is a room that revolutionary prisoners are kept in and that, "no one gets in and no one get's out" they use that same line in the opening cinematic of fallout 3.
Dane Vogel It would make sense for it to be your character, with his strange history and not knowing where he came from and all, but it could also be any character in the game that has the same voice actor as the man in the recording you find in the Vault. And since your character doesn't have a voice, we would never know if it could be him or not.

You'll find Vault 92 or 93 interesting. I can't remember which for some reason. The Overseer played white noise into the speakers around the Vault with subliminal messages in them. This caused some of the vault dwellers to go into "the crazies," during which the seemed extra strong and hostile, which led to a coup and the demise of the Vault.

You'll find Vault 92 or 93 interesting. I can't remember which for some reason. The Overseer played white noise into the speakers around the Vault with subliminal messages in them. This caused some of the vault dwellers to go into "the crazies," during which the seemed extra strong and hostile, which led to a coup and the demise of the Vault.
If you seen the trailer from fallout 4, then the vault there is "111". And if you read the comics you will encounter one of the coolest but strange so to speak
