I got one in Surf green few weeks ago. I have to say that I don't have Hb guitars as usually I don't like the sound. Well after trying this out I fell in love with these pu's. Came right out of the box ... PERFECT. Changed the strings and oiled the fretboard ... and it sounds amazing. It became one of my favourite guitar... so much that I ordered the same week the e335 and super strat Dx9. And .... they are amazing too. INCREDIBLE VALUE FOR MONEY ... I love these EART guitars

I bought a guitar from a pawn shop in the early 90,'s with a finish Crack like that and it still seems fine now
Beauty of a guitar :) And unique, looks like it'll be a nice addition to your collection. Shame about the finish crack, but hey like you said, should still function great. I don't think I'd change anything about it except maybe swap out the 3-way switch before it stops working hahah.
I have one of these in sunburst and it's flawless. I was really surprised at how good the pickups sound. I can't find anything about it that needs changing. Great guitar.

I think one item stands out for me in the Cons: EART doesn't put a serial number on their guitars. That speaks volumes about QC and continuous improvement process. There is no serial number to trace back and figure out what, when, who, etc ...

I bought an Ibanez RG550 second hand in 1991, and that had a crack in the neck pocket, and I still have the guitar, and it plays fine, and has never given me any issues. So don't worry about it. M

Very nice! Especially for what you pay for one. They should one up Fender and figure how to stop the cracks in the finish. Better package? Thinner paint? A not so brittle paint??

Isn't it silly, but I have a hard time getting past the name even up against a similar Squier, let alone a Fender, where the Eart offers (significantly) more features. Odd, but there you go.

Chances are it was shipped that way with the crack, a shame. Good value for a nice guitar. Im surprised its not lighter in weight. Thanks for showcasing this nice alternative to fender.
I worry about shipping in the winter because of what temperature and humidity differences can do to an instrument!

Thanks for a very fair review. Very objective and frank. Hopefully it is only finishing crack (only cosmetic) and not the wood. They may have to change the paint to more flexible paint not hard paint. Cheers from Indoneaia.

I had been eyeing one of those myself it would have been nice if they would had the swimming pool routing. Then you could have added a middle pickup if you wanted to latter on. You could had a choice of a single or another humbuker like some of your older musicians like back in the 70s.

Have you tried the Michael Kelly 59 Thinline? The Earth has good specs but sounds more like a Lp or single cutaway guitar then a tele.. Those cracks happen also usually when the wood is not properly dried..

Just bought this exact guitar. Same color too. Neck is over the top and if they started selling parts like Guitar Fetish, I would love to buy one to swap out on another cheap Tele I have in the back of my closet somewhere. One thing peculiar though is how the bridge pickup ring is angled forward and I will probably either replace or cut it down to make flat. Will likely change out the pickups and electronics and perhaps "acoustic" transducer saddles?

The Bolton was too tight, causing a crack in the EART, leading to a small EART quake. The horror!😉
I bought one a few months ago and added a set of seymour duncan retrospec'd antiquity humbuckers to it. Plays like a 2k guitar now. Cannot put it down.
Were they a direct replacement? The stock Eart pickups look like WRHBs. Are they PAF size?
@@woolweather you will need paf size Humbucker, the current pickups in it look like wide range, but are really paf size.

Welp, I had to wait for months for them to restock this in Canada but the deed is done! I just order myself an Eart thinline!
EDIT: Holy crap is this a lot of guitar for the money, I've had it for a while now and I just can't put it down. The fit and finish are top notch, this is a very well made guitar, it plays beautifully and the neck is amazing. It is very light at 6 lbs 4 ounces, and the burst finish is absolutely gorgeous! It hold tune like a MF and the pickups are everything you'd expect from WRHs. I can't recommend the TT72 enough.
I have 2 -- want to trade the white for seafoam green? I put bootstrap p90 (humbucker size) in one and an SD in the neck/Dimarzio in bridge of the other one. They're great value if you get them when they've dropped the price. Also own one of the S style SSH in blue.

This guitar look great already and looks like with some slight mods it could compete with a fender.
Edit: How does the neck feel to play. That's the turnoff for any guitar for me.

That hairline crack is from them cranking down on the Michael Bolton screws too tight. Other than the happy meal pickup selector, thing sounds really nice, great tone but…nice amp doesn’t hurt
The crack is no big deal. Usually caused by neck pocket to tight of tolerances.
I think She likes it in White.. It really stands out with Her Black Fur when Shes playing 🐶🤍
