      I think they may be flying to other destinations through Singapore airlines, so the flight passes through singapore first, before they take other connecting flights

    the cool thing is that when you think about it, the plane doesnt look like its going fast, but in reality you do the math and it can clear about 3km in 1 min, which means every second it is going around 50m

    • @Dowlphin
      @Dowlphin 7 років тому

      Yep, always look at a static piece of the plane (wing) and compare that to how much ground passes it, and one gets an impression of its actual speed. (Perspective can be deceiving.)
      On my first flight I found the takeoff especially exciting because looking out the window gave an impression of a ground speed higher than I had ever traveled before. (Oddly, before that flight I had never watched a video about one, so it was a completely new experience. The acceleration g-forces were mildly pleasant. And due to TV I was of course unpleasantly surprised by the cabin noise level.)
      Also, regarding time efficiency of air travel, while all the procedure at the airport and the taxi and such make it seem horribly inefficient, one has to weigh it against the likeliness of road congestion when traveling by car. And by train... well, that has its complications, too.
