Hi John, I really liked this latest video because I enjoyed the drive. You're videos that show your freight, how you tied it down, and just driving, means the viewer can enjoy the job with you. Thanks Allan
Hi Johnno absolutely loved this one and hope you’ll do more. I used to live in Perth and can’t believe the expansion everywhere and especially the Tonkin Hwy going north. I used to hang around the Apple yard just north of Ellenbrook on the Great Northern Highway watching the road trains hook up. Hope you’ll do more of these style and maybe one heading into Brisbane. Oh yeah, how come you’re heading north or did I miss something. Keep ‘em coming and take care. Richard
Thanks Johnno. I enjoyed going along for the ride. You seem so high up so you’d get a birdseye view of the traffic ahead and scenery. And I’m sure you must come across some “interesting” drivers at times. I hope to join you again. “Simple” is good. ☺
This reminds me of the SBS slow Video's. Where they put a camera on the front of a Train, Boat in a canal, or any other slow-moving vehicle. Little or no commentary, just scenery to watch.
I appreciated the video showing your sunny drive out. Great work, thanks Johnno The new railway line that you were driving beside will be great when it is completed. Rail and road traffic is definitely a state priority in WA
Loved it Johnno. I know you think these videos could be boring but this is proper reality TV. Do you feel bored as you drive down the highway? I don’t reckon you do, obviously you’ve got lots going on all the time with situational awareness, traffic considerations, gauge monitoring etc, and for those of us who adore road trips and travelling by road, we can relate to this and really get into it. Maybe some mirrors shots, some gauge monitoring shots, some driver shots would be cool. This is getting pretty “enthusiast” though and not so much general interest. I understand that you need to keep people entertained but I’d like to see that. Cheers mate.
Loved the video. You must get frustrated with the cars in the right lane, not pulling over when you come up behind. I have come to the conclusion that the majority of drivers regard driving from A to B as a right without consideration of others. Take care on the road, Johno. I'm looking forward to the next video, Sarah from Tasmania.
Thanks for a change to the usual topics. The city driving was interesting and I’d feel at home with the right hand lane orphans. The transition to country was something to appreciate. Great drive beautiful country. Safe travels.
Good to see that passenger view out of Perth; it’s just like coming along for the ride.. it has changed lot since I last drove north out of Perth. Perhaps with next vlog show map with route from Muchea to Gt Eastern Hwy and on to SA
Good video Johno! It's amazing even still how many vehicles just do NOT want to be behind a truck! Keep it up though mate please. Hopefully more and more people that need to be educated on "sharing" roads with trucks will catch on as to how to actually "share" the roads!
Good video, enjoyed seeing Perth and the changes made since I left 18 years ago (I reckon I'd get lost!). How do you intend to get from Muchea to the Great Eastern Highway with a double, or do they now allow doubles across from Chittering to Toodyay these days?
Indiana Jack had the best videos, structured like a 3-Act play, Setup (get loaded), Action (plan & drive the route), Resolution (unloading). The USA is so spoiled with numerous truck stops, so always interesting, unlike Australia where the main cities are like from A to B to C to D to E to F.
G'day Johnno. Not knowing Perth it was interesting to see the road setup over there. I enjoyed the video giving us your perspective of what it's like behind the wheel. Look forward to the next one. Stay safe. Cheers. 👍
It amazing how W.A service station got no service people, just big square fuel tanks, all you got to have is a big credit card,My partner told me about the service station when he went west.
This vlog had to be made , I've drivern a little bit of interstate , you've stated you don't know why ur've made it , well I'm glad u did , because up and commings , need to see more & more , real trucking footage , without the beer and skitels happy go lucky , prospective new drivers should not be , cocky , thinking they can drive & operate like u Johno , I realise u have the best of but ure a rare cat , with outstanding skill , I'm not saying , don't encourage the new guys , but please , don't let them think , the trucking game is easy 🤔✌
Hey Johnno thanks for the video. A few years ago they stuck a camera on the front engine of the Ghan and filmed the whole trip from Port Augusta to Darwin. They showed it on SBS over quite a few nights. Apparently they got a lot of people watching it, riveting viewing apparently 😂
Johnno, Enjoyed this video. Something a little different. I think a head mounted camera would make the vision a little busy. You could increase your audio somewhat. It was a little low with the road noise comming through. Keep up the good work with your vlogs.
Hi Johno - I liked being the passenger view it was great. Yeah there's some ding a ling car drivers everywhere.. liked it when right on the was in the wrong for the speed they travelling at. I am from south Australia and my late wife comes Perth. Keep up the video coverage. Cheers Nate
G'day Johno, Scott from Arizona 🌵here . I like this video very much . Love seeing Australia from a truck . Never been to WA , so this was a new experience for me. 😊
Love the video. I really enjoyed it. I have always said that part of getting a car license that a learner driver should have to spend time in a semi/ B Double or road train to learn how to respect and how to drive around them. I used to always turn the two way off when I got into the cities as there is to many idiots talking rubbish on them.
Mate I do the exact same thing as you driving north out of there stay in the right lane until Ellenbrook otherwise cars just hold you up/ drive under the speed limit and stuff around
Oh, just a reminder 1st July 2024 in NSW Mobile or fixed Phone Cameras will also be used to detect if you’re wearing your seatbelt/s correctly. Fines Apply!
How would this go with the lap/ sash belts. I have an older ford ltl9000 and it just has the lap belts I wonder if they'll be detected as worn incorrectly because there isn't a strap going over the shoulder.
Enjoyed the video, maybe a little slow in some places, I just fast forward.Would be interesting to see the Nullarbor plain in this perspective. Thanks 😊
Many may not agree with me, but I would love you to do an hour or so of night driving across the paddock, mostly because because it will give people who have never been there a sense of the isolation and lack of civilisation in that part of Australia. Something that I think is unique. We have all seen traffic 😂.
I live in Perth but I don't recognise the roads. Where is the yard where you started?.... other than Kewdale. It's a long way up Tonkin Hwy before you can stop for a pie. Great video but call out some of the roads signs and other features
I started from the hook up area on Abernethy Rd then turned right on to Kewdale Rd. I really didn't know how I was going to make this video as it's not my usual style.
Gday Johnno, good to see you again! Yeah car drivers will never understand why trucks use the right lane. I also get into the right lane early when needing to turn right because if you leave it to the last minute they won’t let you in!
This is a very good video on of your best. This is the thing that needs to be showen. I know most people think we are driving cars like them but they dont understand.
Having the radio on is interesting, I know there’s a lot of rubbish on there but when there’s proper talk from other truckies maybe explain what they’re saying. I heard one say ‘ West bound hand held in 80km zone’. I’m guessing he means a speed camera maybe?? Cheers Johnno, safe journey!
Trucks couldn’t go in the fast lane on the British Motorways either but they have 3 lanes. The cars all did 80 mph in the fast lane and as long as you kept up you wouldn’t get booked or into strife. Try doing 80mph in a Ford Fiesta that had a lawn mower engine in it. I haven’t driven there for over 30 years and don’t know how I coped then. They are very courteous drivers though, not like here where people are trying to cut you off all the time.
Apologies for not catching up in Seymour the other day. I’m building another greenhouse to expand our Blueberry Farm and I don’t usually have my phone in case I drop it in the dirt!! I turned on UA-cam notifications so hopefully next time I’ll see it earlier Gerry
Hey mate I have a question about making UA-cam videos while driving I'm interested because I'm getting different answers from different sources....I'm looking at getting into making videos myself...right now I'm confused not sure if it's different across the country wether it's legal or not....as far as I'm aware talking to a camera while driving is same as using a hands free for a phone, it's legal to do but on the other hand I've been told if you have an accident distracted talking to a camera even though it's on the windscreen the operator of the truck will be in very hot water possibly even be charged with negligence...I can't seem to get a straight answer from a UA-camr already doing it, police give me many different answers and I can't seem to find anything in Google I've asked my local state road authority there all over the shop without a solid answer either....what do you know about it anything on this would be helpful. I've been also advised that camera can be recording but your not to be having a conversation to it, apparently you have to edit in voice overs...Please help I'm confused.
Talking to a camera or hands free is no different than talking to a passenger beside you. I guess you should know your capabilities in driving and how much you need to concentrate. Some people are really bad at driving and need to concentrate with all their might whilst others do it very easily.
I spose its easy to get out of Perth when you're already leaving from the arse end of Perth..its not like you had to traverse the metro area lol. Nice tour of the north east suburbs anyway 👍
@RoadTrainAdventures did you know johhno that the busiest road in Australia is the west gate freeway Melbourne with 200k vehicles per day .the Kwinana Fwy in Perth has 180k vehicles pee day which also makes it one of the busiest roads in Australia..you can google that ..I was surprised myself
Because this isn't the road heading east. This is north east heading towards brand hwy and great Northern hwy ...you're thinking of great Eastern hwy probably. This is the way if you want to go to Geraldton or the inland towns like Newman and Meekatharra

I have also noticed that when I drive my better half’s car which is a little car truck drivers often get on my case. When I drive my LC 79 loaded up with a trailer on they take no notice and give me room and I will be going faster in her car. It is not much fun having the number plate of a truck being all you can see of it because it is so close behind. Truck and Dog drivers are the worst.
Yes I heard that but they still do it. A couple of times I've flashed my lights at them because they're in the right hand lane going under 100 and instead of moving over they stick the finger up at me whilst others are overtaking them on the left.
@@RoadTrainAdventures I’ve thought about doing one long time lapse of my run (bit shorter day then you) but if it’s a time lapse there’s no audio, and I don’t really want to have the same three songs on repeat for 48 minutes (about what a 10 hour day condenses to under Timelapse) the way you did it worked well, truck sounds, commentary and some uhf chatter
You shouldn't be driving on the right side of the road all the time. You should be on the left and being more considerate to faster accelerating traffic. It's bad and inconsiderate driving and you're being a road bully.
You clearly didn't watch and listen to this whole video. Did you not notice how I was overtaking everyone. Most people don't do the speed limit whereas I can. If I were to go in the left lane I'd be doing about 85-90 instead of 100.
i use this to fall asleep. I have no problems staying awake when i drive. but as soon as i am a passenger i fall asleep haha. thanks for this man!
Very good
I could watch this all day!
Oh wow. I'm glad you liked it.
You really know your job mate I must say thanks mate.
Very good
Hi John, I really liked this latest video because I enjoyed the drive. You're videos that show your freight, how you tied it down, and just driving, means the viewer can enjoy the job with you. Thanks Allan
Awesome. Thanks Allan
Hi Johnno. Thank you for this. Enjoyed seeing this drive during day light hours. Very different compared to watching this same drive at night time.
Thanks Dave. Yes I'll try to show some variety in my videos.
Richard
Awesome. Thanks Richard. Yes good old Apple St. Going north I can road train straight out of Perth without doing a dog run to Northam and back again.
Yeh enjoyed this Johnno. Good to feel like a passenger. Love being on the road.
Thanks.
Awesome. Thanks Anne. Maybe I'll do more of these when I don't have much time to make a good one.
That would be great 👍
I just made one driving south from Port Augusta so I'll put that up shortly.
Thanks Johnoo
Thanks Raymond for watching
Thanks Johnno. I enjoyed going along for the ride. You seem so high up so you’d get a birdseye view of the traffic ahead and scenery. And I’m sure you must come across some “interesting” drivers at times. I hope to join you again. “Simple” is good. ☺
Very good. I'll certainly try this again.
It’s even more fun with two oversized
For sure
You're dead right about staying in the right hand lane mate! Especially along that road!!
Very good. I'm glad you agree.
I agree especially in a truck if your heading north the whole way. inside lanes tend to slow down stop and start to often on that part of the Tonkin
For sure
This reminds me of the SBS slow Video's. Where they put a camera on the front of a Train, Boat in a canal, or any other slow-moving vehicle. Little or no commentary, just scenery to watch.
I thought this would be boring to watch.
Thanks for taking us along. A really enjoyable ride. Fantastic views. 😃
Oh very good. Thanks Dirk
I appreciated the video showing your sunny drive out. Great work, thanks Johnno
The new railway line that you were driving beside will be great when it is completed.
Rail and road traffic is definitely a state priority in WA
Thanks Ron. Yes lots of new stuff around
That was a good straight drive johnno how good was that better then driving out of Sydney that’s for sure thanks mate.
Yes. Not as much traffic like Sydney.
I like making videos with lots of camera angle. Right now I've been talking a break from making videos so these kind of very easy.
I must say it was different but enjoyable Johnno. I felt like i was in the truck with you
Oh very nice. Thanks Terry.
Loved the video. You must get frustrated with the cars in the right lane, not pulling over when you come up behind. I have come to the conclusion that the majority of drivers regard driving from A to B as a right without consideration of others. Take care on the road, Johno. Oh wow. OK
I like this one, loved watching a truckie POV of my neighbourhood because I live in Belmont! 😊
Awesome 🙌🏻
Belmont. Yes I was close.
Good to see that passenger view out of Perth; it’s just like coming along for the ride.. it has changed lot since I last drove north out of Perth.
Perhaps with next vlog show map with route from Muchea to Gt Eastern Hwy and on to SA
Thanks Brian. I really didn't think people would like this kind of video but for sure
Hi Johno, like the video, must feel great when you leave the city behind, and you hit the open road.
Thanks Andrew. Yeah definitely love the country life.
Good video Johno! It's amazing even still how many vehicles just do NOT want to be behind a truck! Keep it up though mate please. Hopefully more and more people that need to be educated on "sharing" roads with trucks will catch on as to how to actually "share" the roads!
Thanks Michael. I've made another one of these coming out of Port Augusta.
yeah great video Johnno enjoyed the ride it's good to see how you see it hope you do more in and out of towns and major cities cheers
Awesome. Thanks Daniel. Stay tuned for later today.
Good video, enjoyed seeing Perth and the changes made since I left 18 years ago (I reckon I'd get lost!). How do you intend to get from Muchea to the Great Eastern Highway with a double, or do they now allow doubles across from Chittering to Toodyay these days?
I go through Calingiri, Wongan Hills and through to Southern Cross
I loved it, but a detour via Muchea on the way to Brisbane? You had me jumping over to google maps to see where you were going!
Ha ha. It's better than doing a dog run to Northam and back again.

Good video, enjoyed it, thanks for posting. Was great to come along for the ride.
Awesome. Thanks Moggy.
Great stuff
Thanks Jess
Real as it gets Jonno, good solid work.
Thanks for sharing
Very good. Thanks again
Not my favourite kind of video that you do, but thanks for the trip anyway. Look forward to Port Augusta.
Thanks Dean. It's not my kind of video either.
G'day Johnno. Not knowing Perth it was interesting to see the road setup over there. I enjoyed the video giving us your perspective of what it's like behind the wheel. Look forward to the next one. Stay safe. Cheers. 👍
Awesome. Thanks Brett. I'll do the one from Port Augusta then.
It amazing how W.A service station got no service people, just big square fuel tanks, all you got to have is a big credit card,My partner told me about the service station when he went west.
Oh that place I filled up is a fuel only place. No people work there.

Oh wow. Sounds interesting.
You’ll find most of the erratic drivers north bound on Tonkin will take the Ellenbrook exit
Yes most leave at Gnangara Rd or The Promenade.
Bit like coming south out of Sydney, they go off into Campbelltown and it is better after they all go home.
That's it
Johnno,
Enjoyed this video. Something a little different. I think a head mounted camera would make the vision a little busy. You could increase your audio somewhat. It was a little low with the road noise comming through. Keep up the good work with your vlogs.
Yes I'll look at using the radio mine

Very good. Thanks Mate. Will do.
How are you Johnno, I’m sitting back and enjoy the ride
Good run thus far the roads are quite 👍
Awesome. Thanks Rick
Always a pleasure, thanks Johnno, watching from Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
Very nice. Thanks Dean
Great video Johno, I see car drivers in Australia treat trucks with the same disrespect as they do in UK
Oh for sure. It's obviously works wide.
Big crane going up somewhere
Yes this was a big crane
G'day Johno, Scott from Arizona 🌵here . I like this video very much . Love seeing Australia from a truck . Never been to WA , so this was a new experience for me. 😊
Awesome. Thanks Scott. I'll do more of these videos for you then.
Thanks Stefan. I might try this again then
Wow. I had no idea this would be so interesting for so many.
Hi John,
love your videos, how many K/s has the prime mover done in its life.
2.3 million
Mate I do the exact same thing as you driving north out of there stay in the right lane until Ellenbrook otherwise cars just hold you up/ drive under the speed limit and stuff around
Very good. Stuck to that. I tried to find your channel S&R Adventures but I can't find it. Do you have a channel with any videos on it?
Oh, just a reminder 1st July 2024 in NSW Mobile or fixed Phone Cameras will also be used to detect if you’re wearing your seatbelt/s correctly. Fines Apply!
Very good or bad. Mmm
How would this go with the lap/ sash belts. I have an older ford ltl9000 and it just has the lap belts I wonder if they'll be detected as worn incorrectly because there isn't a strap going over the shoulder.
I guess you might have to argue that in court because all the revenue departments want us your money. They don't care about your excuses.
Yeah these videos are cool, thanks.
Ok. Thanks David. Good to know
Enjoyed the video, maybe a little slow in some places, I just fast forward.Would be interesting to see the Nullarbor plain in this perspective.
Thanks 😊
I was on the Nullarbor a couple of hours ago. OK I'll keep that in mind for another video.
I enjoyed this so much brings back lots of memories please do it again soon.❤❤❤
Very nice. Thanks Frank
Love videos like this, maybe a head cam would be even cooler
I have that big idea not as clear a vision because of the sun visor
You should stay in the left hand lane. Holding everyone up
Were your watching the same video. I was overtaking everyone that was in the left lane.
Hey John is SA still 90k per hour for B Doubles and Road Trains or have they finally joined the 21st century
B doubles have always been able to do 100 but road trains are supposed to do 90. It's up to you if you want to do either speed.
Many may not agree with me, but I would love you to do an hour or so of night driving across the paddock, mostly because because it will give people who have never been there a sense of the isolation and lack of civilisation in that part of Australia. Something that I think is unique. We have all seen traffic 😂.
Yes OK. Not a bad idea
Tony from "the road train" home away from home is a good one for that ..he drives through the guts of Western Australia. Pretty remote stuff
@ACDZ123 Yes I've seen his videos
I live in Perth but I don't recognise the roads. Where is the yard where you started?.... other than Kewdale. It's a long way up Tonkin Hwy before you can stop for a pie. Great video but call out some of the roads signs and other features

Once apon a time I was the one in the fast lane, now trucks have all the power and they go round me.
Just put your foot down
This is a very good video on of your best. This is the thing that needs to be showen. I know most people think we are driving cars like them but they dont understand.
Awesome. Thanks Brett
Great vid
Thanks heaps
Excellent video! Loved every kilometre 😊
Very nice. Thanks Bruce.
Cool video
Awesome. Thanks heaps

Yes that's why I left the radio on. To show you all the whole experience.
G'day. How about a time lapse of a drive. especially in twisty road.
Yes I can do that on some parts of the video.
Nice
Thanks Jessica
G'Day Jonno. How often do you change your turbo oil ?
Turbo oil?
Love the video. I enjoyed the countryside, and thank you
Very nice. Thanks Mary

Awesome. Thanks Bob
Interesting video. In the Netherlands you are not allowed to drive a truck on the third lane. Greatings from Holland.
It's great to have you along from Holland. I drive in whatever lane is fastest.

More please Johnno.
More... OK will do

Awesome. Thanks Greg

5:15 PM at the mango farm good evening
Oh did I pass you?
I’ve come to theory the smaller the car the worse the driver.
You may be on to something there.
Nice❤
Thanks Erika
Car drivers over there are about the same here, dont care about trucks
You got that right.
Nice 👍
Thanks Eric
Where’s the Scales?😢
Do you mean, in my truck?
@@RoadTrainAdventures no the nasty ones. Would be nice to watch a grade xxx inspection 🤗
Oh we passed them but as they weren't open there was nothing to see besides their little building.
@@RoadTrainAdventures ok I call them out for you😂👍
Ha ha. Thanks
They are entitled drivers. They get fined down Brisbane if they sit in the right lane too long.
Yes I heard that but they still do it. A couple of times I've flashed my lights at them because they're in the right hand lane going under 100 and instead of moving over they stick the finger up at me whilst others are overtaking them on the left.
Good to see the car drivers are just stupid all over the country. It was a good look at one of the routes you take, and I’d watch another one 😊
Ok awesome. I might show what going through Port Augusta abs south on the highway looks like. It's really busy.
Yeah I don't think that long a time lapse would be so good.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Very nice. Thanks Scott
Hi johno are you going to get home for daughters birthday
Looks like no. Isn't that nice.
@@RoadTrainAdventures sorry to hear mate can't you get a load back out
I left Perth this afternoon for Brisbane
@@RoadTrainAdventures okay wrong way any way keep it safe .I'm having a guided needle in my back tomorrow not looking forward to that
You get all the fun. I hope that goes well and not too bad.
Boring
I agree but lots of people have been asking for a video like this.
It may seem boring , but prospective new commers , need to know this is a massive part of trucking 🚚
Yes I see that lots of people are liking this type of video.
