If we had "less governance" since Independence, we would have been much better off; the bane of India has been the "Babudom" (a self-serving group) rooted in the Raj system of Governance, who ultimately take decisions on behalf of the Cabinet (remember the BBC series "Yes Minister"?). We have more and more Government and lesser of what is needed.

If we had less government intervention in business and on social issues we would have been much better, socialism really did not help us.
It was good only for the beaurocrats and the people in power and while the people suffered.

Wow! So you still went to 1940s to find someone to blame. The crisis is here today, there are people in power today who are doing (or not doing) things to control this.
Atleast know where to place blame.
Also, the need for babudom can't be seen without context, the times and conditions during 1940s. In retrospect almost everything can negated.
Anyway. This is just my view. People find comfort I'm blaming past while ignoring present mishandling. Pls try to avoid that

    Sir
I keep following your UA-cam videos. I am a doctor with (MS)degree. Keep practicing allopathy.but I had keen interest in alternative medicines.i would like to share some of my experiences
1.once i was attending yoga class.i was caught with cold and almost102 fever.i asked my guru weather to stop my yoga practice for some days .he said no ,instead you can just do simple pranayama in vajrasana and do some bastrika pranayamas.to my surprise cold and fever just lasted for 12 hours .I woke up next morning with full vigour.
Science behind vajrasana -all the blood is pushed up in to upper body and flow increased twice to all organs where all the immunity mechanism occurs and with pranayama more oxygen indirectly we are boosting immunity by more exposure to virus.bastrika basically blows out virus hence the load is reduced in upper and lower respiratory tracts(which is the prime cause of fatality with covid)
2.plenty of sun light exposure at least 15 min where you sweat a little that increases vigour and boost immunity
3.food is very very important. No nonveg as it increases the work load on organs for digestion whose prime function at this time is for recovery .already lot of protein is there in body which body can utilise for immunological function
4.stay calm .the fear complex brings our immunity down more than the disease.in fact getting exposed with low dose of virus is beneficial like getting yourself vaccinated
5.some foods which I observed would increase respiratory difficulty by spasm and more mucous formation(which happens with asthma cases)are banana. brinjal . seafood .moongdal .cool foods etc.plenty of warm water and some tea to be drunk that would clear sputum and cleanse our blood and boost immunity
6.most important I was using silesia biochemistry medicine along with simple antibiotic for severe infections even with diabetes through out my practice with wonderful results.i once used it on my uncle whose foot was completely infected both ventral and dorsal part with uncontrolled diabetis who was prepared for below knee amputation. I have the pictures also .we could save his foot and now we can see a thin scar with wonderful healing with in a week.(so I think trial may be done on experimental mice or covid patients as silesia is simple silicon oxide which is equivalent to b -complex readily available in any homeo stores
7.Right now I was working with covid lab .where I had an interesting thing to share .for separation of virus silicon hydroxide is used which Sticks the viral RNA and then separated for RtPcr test.so does silesia work by holding the virus inside body?if it happen more blood cells get exposed hence quick and boosted immunity. I want to share this for research purpose but I work in a remote back ward district in andhrapradesh so I was sharing with you if its found useful we need not depend on vaccine each and every body can become a vaccine producing factory.
Comments and suggestions in this regard are welcome

Any vaccine testing takes time. After completion of dosage, patients will be kept under observation as side effects may crop up any time. And findings has to be peer reviewed before its published. Usually a vaccine takes couple of years to go for Market production.

While other points he makes are ok, I don't quite agree with Rajiv Bajaj. Rajiv is a businessman and he foremost cares about his business. A govt. cannot and should not think like a businessman. One can argue any which way in terms of how India failed to control the spread but to argue that India should have given priority ro economy over lockdown is not ethically correct. If at a point where joblessness and poverty starts to cause more damage than the pandemic itself, then one can argue about removing lockdown. But saying lockdown was draconian is like saying "we could have let a few hundred people die and kept economy open". Rajiv Bajaj can think like that and thankfully he is not running the govt.

    Major problems citizens facing
    1. No immediate testing available. Patients not tested unless they develop symptoms. Symptoms develop after 5 days. Patient waits for 2-3 days for getting tested. Report takes another 2 days. Sometimes patient has lost 8_10 days before he is admitted and gets treatment. This is the reason majority deaths have occurred within 4 days of admission. The main reason of illness/ death is hypoxia or less oxygen. With the cases number rising there is shortage of deaths. Is it possible to arrange for something like portable oxygen cylinders or something of this sort which the patient can take at home till he gets a bed in the hospital?

As we used to reiterate with this virus, that its incubation period is of 2-14 days. Now, where does this statement stand when we say asymptomatics only shed virus for 5 days. That virus might just be in its incubation period inside that patient and we test him as a corona positive patient and ask him to leave the hospital after 10 days without a test(based on, you know, ICMR studies). My question is how can we can categorize a patient as an asymptomatic patient and conclude that he might shed less if we are not seeing him for 14 days.

By god grace he was not tested positive - having said so should our politicians or civil servants not walk the talk ?

Ahmedabad has a high fatality but it isn’t surprising because 89% people have co-morbidity.
    This is almost 900/1000 deaths.
It’s not about the health infrastructure, it isnt bad except for one hospital, the population over the years in Gujarat is prone to diabetes etc due to food and lifestyle habits.

Yet some private companies are insisting that their employees return to Mumbai/ Delhi and work from home in these cities. Those employees who moved to safer locations and are either already working online, or are willing to commence work online, need not be called to Mumbai or Delhi unless job entails physical presence. This would unnecessarily expose people to infections through travel. The concept of work from home needs to be understood by management. Govt needs to reiterate that only those who are physically required at work place are recalled. Or else public transport like mumbai locals and delhi metro will become additional vectors of spread.

Also check 29th May saw a huge dip in active cases because 8000 people recovered in one day in Mumbai (12000 in india!). While the days around 29th May saw only around a 1000 recovered. Is there some cooking of numbers going on? How do I send you my findings? I've been studying the numbers for 85 days now every day. Can you share an email to that I can write to you in detail?

A lot of people in Delhi do not cremate their loved ones in Delhi. Many go to places near Ganga such as Brijghat in UP but since state borders were closed until very recently, cremations had to happen in Delhi. That could explain the extra spike in deaths reported by crematoriums.
And Ahmedabad alone has more deaths than Delhi while it only has a population of 55.7 Lakhs against Delhi's 1.9 crores.

Ahmedabad Started off really well with testing everyone in the containment zones. But the ever-increasing numbers pushed the government to not focus on testing asymptomatic patients that much. According to a study in 2015, Gujarat was declared India's diabetes Capitol. This cud be the reason for the higher Fatalities in Ahmedabad.
I wonder if Bangalore's performance is linked to its staggering amount of Young population!?

Good points... However, the critical questions is how do we get state governments and the local authorities to test more? There has to be some accountability. Can’t believe a city like Mumbai can get away with ~4000 tests/day when the test positivity rate is so high and enough testing kits available. Can the Federal government force the states to test more? Or in the worst case scenario impose medical emergency in these cities?

Chandigarh, a city of 12 lakh people is testing only 80 people a day on avg. No aggressive testing even in the containment zones of the city. 4 of the 5 covid deaths have been diagnosed after patients' demise. Unlike Newzealand, India was having plenty of COVID-19 cases even with lockdown because lockdown was not observed by everyone. With lockdown lifted, it will be Darwinian survival of the fittest. India has a very high density of population, poverty, ignorance, low per capita income, and inadequate healthcare facilities - all conducive to the rapid spread of a pandemic. A vaccine is the only hope for stopping the pandemic.

Lockdown was unnecessary and not effective. Only the middle class localities and business districts were closed and traffic immobilized, causing huge disruption to the economy and awful pain to the general public. The containment zones are largely ineffective as inmates move about freely, in and out of the zones. These are not watertight but porous. What is the point of lockdown if more than 50% of the population doesn't or cannot observe social distancing and other stipulated norms? Let us get rid of lockdown and return to normalcy. Fatalities are very very low even lower than in many chronic ailments. Solutions devised by our rulers and various magistrates are more harmful then the new virus itself.

Thank god someone spoke on Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. I feel CMs of three states are primarily responsible. Bureaucrat, Centre are common to all the states. Good performing states have responsible CMs even if they have metros like Bangaluru, Chennai etc, they are able to manage it. The three CMs cover full spectrum of the political parties of India and strangely I find no one is roasting them. What economical activity does religious places generate. It generates super spreaders of virus as well as unaccounted money. But still CGji you atleast spoke on this.
