thanks sooo much for posting this I was "Gumbie" : "Familier with Candle" !!!! cried when I found it as I didn't think there was any footage - so thank you for bringing back such lovely memories ; ) xxx
@Robert Lee, Countertenor Hey, I know this question is 2 years old but I'll answer anyway :) I've worked in the West End and European tours (not as an actor), so have seen a few productions of Cats during rehearsals and in-show. I've seen actors bump into each other several times, especially during dance numbers or numbers where people are on and off stage a lot -- so it does happen!!! But, actors are amazing at knowing where to be at all times, even with only a few weeks of rehearsal and 1 (or none) put-ins. This is mainly from experience and training: of course most actors (at least in the UK) have had several years of drama school where performance techniques are practised. Cats, as well as other musicals, also have something called a 'track Bible' (could have other names in different companies or productions. It used to be on paper but is usually now on a laptop or iPad) where basically every movement of every role/character is drawn and written down so everyone learns exactly where they need to be. Anyway, that was very long lol.. I hope that answers your question :)
