Impressive how he's able to do this in an age where the super hero dominates the box office. With his next film however I wonder if he's going to branch out, NOPE was georgous in IMAX. Universal got a good thing going on with him and now they've acquired Nolan.
I honestly love Peele, he’s one of my favorite horror filmmakers working today (great comedian too). We need more large scale, blockbuster horror, so awesome.
I always of Jordan Peele as just a comedian but i didn’t know he’s a great director! Side note: also the movies wouldn’t be the same without the cinematographers. The deep camera work and detail they out in lighting and imagery is just astounding. I hope Jordan and the cinematographers that worked in each film get more success because they deserve it. 😊
Such an inspiration. The challenges these stories present and how they are overcome is just such a good thing to learn. The essence of pulling these off is just creative problem solving and it's beautiful to see how they turn out
I ended up buying NOPE on itunes because I needed the full resolution for the wonderful night scenes. The daytime scenes looked totally fine and high resolution on the 2gb movie file I download but dark scenes looked so pixelated. The movie file on itunes is 5gb and it makes so much of a difference

Great video as always Gray! I think the way Hoyte shot the night scenes is something that more people are going to do from here on out. Pretty sure Steve Yedlin did something similar on Knives Out. At 8:59 what is that piece of gear?
I remembered watching Jordan comedy back in middle school especially with that Obama video. When I saw that he was releasing the movie " get out" I honestly thought it was going to be trash, just another actor trying to get another check. Man was I wrong, as a big horror fan I was watching the movie very closely; more like looking for parts I dint like so I could talk about it, but once I saw that I was halfway through the movie I realized that Jordan has a lot of potential.
It woul be very interesting a video about Lynch(Eraserhead, Blue velvet, Mulholland Drive) and Welles but in reverse because he started with a big studio budget for Citizen Kane and then he made movies with much less money like Othello or F for Fake.
cool video but if i could make a suggestion, it would be to talk a bit faster? like, not super fast, but moderately fast, like i feel the way you explain things is fairly slow still, pretty cool video
They were so focused on the landscape day for night new technique he developed that he didn't focus on doing anything amazing in any other area. That happens.
@@available4comment433 Skeleton Key and Get Out are extremely similar, but I feel like the plot of Get Out is ever so slightly different. It subtly focuses more on a racial issue while Skeleton Key exists simply to be scary. I’d say that Get Out took more inspiration from Skeleton Key than directly copied it.
I really love Jordan Peele's movies. However, some scenes are so dark that it's hard to see the actors facial expressions, and he uses such superb actors that I want to see their work. Maybe it was the theaters I watched the films at? Also the heavy use of blue just bothers me. But I come from a stage background so maybe that's why. On stage we try not to light black actors with such heavy blue without a rim of warm light around them. At any rate he has fantastic stories and I will watch everything he puts on film.
Unfortunately Jordan movies are becoming like M. Night Shyamalan movies. The previews are definitely better than the movie itself and the endings are always a big let down

Moderate budget- The Lighthouse

It went from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" to an episode of "Neon Genesis Evangelion"
