Thankfully I managed to get hold of the base box plus two ancillary boxes both of which enhances what I had envisioned as Frontera's, so I am quid's in at the end of the day, thanks to Amazon who are my go to suppliers.
To add salt in the wound on Sector Mechanicus; if you go to the product on the website and look through the images of it, you will see a picture of Tau and Genestealers fighting on top of the no longer included catwalk thingamajig.
I am luckly is still have the original sector mechanicus box and still not got around to opening it, I cant believe they are changing the same amount for less product in two of the sets. I even noticed that the starter set does not come with the core rules this time either and has not been re-released.
Don't know the prices in the rest of the world, but in New Zealand, at GW retail, they went up in price by $33 from the previous release, was $165 now $198. So a 20% price increase in what, 2 years?
Plus the original versions had rules, and cards with missions and effects. We planned on getting all three, ended up getting Frontier and Cargo mostly for board style and to fill out the terrian in the book, but got KillTeam starter set for £65 so MUCH more stuff for only £20 more.
Yeah this is a bad look for GW. It seems like whoever is running the Community page for Kill Team either hasn't been properly briefed or is incompetent. Yesterday's article - on the day of pre-ordering - STILL uses images showing the old configuration for the updated Killzones. While we all know GW has no issue fleecing it's customers, actually intentionally misrepresenting products would be a new one. I very nearly bought the Munitorum box, only happening to flick through the actual product images alerted me that something was off. What they've done is made the Killzones have 5 frames of terrain. So in the case of Fronteris, you do get an extra ruined wall sprue so even at £60, it's marginally a better value box than before. Conversely Munitorum has lost 3 frames. (2 containers and the crane) In fact you can buy the terrain from this box cheaper on it's own, so in this case you're actually paying for the card stock! Then Manufactorum has lost the silo, walkways and stanchion sprues which have been replaced with two extra sets of pipes for a total of 3. Worth noting that presently and as far as I can tell, GW no longer sells those pipe sets on their own, so if you want that design of pipes, this is now your only option.
Your absolutely right however these new boxes dont have the card stock in the box anymore either. You need to buy a copy of the killzones book to be able to use them. It’s a real shit show. There’s now 3 articles showing the old configuration and none showing the one you actually get.
Lots of negative GW news recently. My biggest problem is that this stuff is easy to reproduce with Blender and 3D printer for a beginner. I will focus on replacing cardboard terrain for warhammer quest though.
GW is like "Hey guys, there are a lot of people with FDM and SLA 3d printers. Have you seen it? They are making models similiar or 1:1 like ours! We need to do something!" "-LETS UP THE PRICES AND CUT THE CONTENTS OF OUR BOXES, THAT HAVE TO WORK!"
Mind you, the original Killzone Mechanicus set i bought back when it was released was €65 and it had 3 different terrain sets in one box incl. rules. This time it's €80 for 2 terrain sets (the cheapest ones from the former 3) and no rules.
The worst part about these IMO is the considerable price jump. When they came out a few years ago, they were retailing at $80 in the US. Seeing that the mechanicus box strips out a considerable amount of the terrain and goes up 20% really puts a sour taste in my mouth. I admit a degree of salt, as I was really looking forward to expanding my collection with what's exactly in that box but now I have to spend more to get the additional ferratonic incinerator.
So, a 20% price-hike for Munitorum & Mechancum (the older two were £50RRP) and a significant reduction in contents, which they have clearly misrepresented on WH Community. I would say I'm pretty much in the GW are nasty robbers camp and though I'm lucky in that I already have as much Kill Team terrain as I can ever use, I'm pretty angry that GW have taken this route and hidden the facts until pre-order day. How do they really feel about us, the customers? Maybe Cursed City will be $300 mate (ha ha). Not good news today.

I really think so. If the community kicks off enough we will see more content this week about what’s actually in the boxes so they can say they tried to inform people before launch but it stinks of misinformation.
@@foyble I think the only argument to buy some of these boxes is comparing the price to separate purchases, but they have rocketed too and whichever way you look at things, the value is diminishing. Wait the 3rd box of terrain is actually trash. Imagine buying this and thinking you’d be able to play a game of kill team. That missing platform is what actually made the mat playable in the first place, the new set is literally a shooting range.
I generally tend to defend GW but in this instance I feel it's very poor business to include an image on a page labelled as 'Preview' that is not in fact the thing being previewed. I'd say it merits both an apology and explanation - perhaps it's human error, perhaps not. If the intention was to show what the OLD boxes contained then it should have been VERY clearly labelled as such, and probably not in an article called with 'Preview' in the title. The fact that they have similar/same names just makes it worse. I was planning to buy the Munitorum one, but now it's clear that instead of making a small saving the content is actually MORE expensive than buying the contents separately unless you want a piece of cardboard - I've already got plenty of playmats and I'd imagine most Killteam/40K players do too.
Sector Munitorum Environment £60 or buy terrain from GW for £57.50 so for £2.50 you get a card mat. so if you did not want mat terrain actually cheaper

Bloody ‘ell, wish I’d seen this before I ordered - luckily I didn’t choose the mechanicus set (fronteris all the way for me, so if anything it’s not so bad)
So Games Workshop actually added more terrain to the Sector Frontialis box - which was necessary to play the game properly (even for the old photos of the Sector Frontialis GW used more terrain pieces than it was in the box) thus the value of the box rose. Then, they screwed up the rest two Killzones removing 25% of the terrain - Sector Munitorum now lacks not only the crane itself but also two munitorum containters (and I suppose that the amount of small boxes and barrels also decreased), Sector Mechanicus lacks the big centerpiece. I am glad I bought Sector Munitorum a year ago and I am pretty sure I will buy just the Sector Frontialis now. And I am kinda disappointed because I´ve expected new Killzones rather than the reduced versions of some of them, and Pariah Nexus is also MEH for the exorbitant 160 bucks.

It would only be false advertising if what was shown on the box was different from what was inside. Precedent has been set in this regard. Watch for the oncoming influence of Hasbro as it creeps steady onward to purchas GW.
I already have the killzones from when they first came out (I'm only missing the sector munitorum), does anyone know if the content of the new KILLZONES book has anything more than what was included in the "old" killzone boxes? thanks!
In this video: ua-cam.com/video/zWWseIDNbig/v-deo.html (its in Polish) you have new killzone book and there are no new rules just reprint from old killzone cards.
Just made decision to get into 40k, Kill Zone smart starting point. But more and more I getting turned off by the whole process. Start with Kill Team? Spend hundreds for books. But Kill Team 2 is being teased so what happens then? Pick up some more models, building up to a full army. Then pick up a hundreds more for books, which seem to change alot. Now I am seeing that GWS screws people over on box sets too.
Their Battlefield expansion pack (the one that contains the same terrain as the command edition starter) can serve as a decent killzone. Two buildings, one big chunk of machinery and some pipes. And it is also cheaper than the “new” killzones as far as I’m aware. The old starter wasn’t that great back then, but if you compare it to latest releases then it’s decent (the units inside are not that competitive, but terrain is great). If you are worried about the rules then you can always find them online. Just google search “kill team ..... data sheet” or something and you’ll get the site.
Thank you for this. I'd definitely been eyeing the Mechanicus and Munitorium boxes, but now they're not worth it for me. I'm buying for Necromunda and the Fronteris stuff just doesn't do it for me. It's not terrible, but my limited money will go towards more useful stuff.
GW Value gets worse and worse, not only compared to other systems but their own old releases, which were expensive already.. Good thing I never jumped in. Their minis still are at the very top of the industry, but they're milking their community too hard imo.
Normally I don't like negative reports but this one has particular merit because of the nature of the box releases by GW. I wonder how badly they have exposed themselves with this. I imagine they will be accepting returns when people receive the product?
Am lucky I got the other two ages ago. Just needed the Frontier box and terrain book. Hopefully this doesn’t happen again. Still the Frontiers is a great box.
No problem with disagreeing at all. I’m thinking about the overall RRP value of the box if bought seperately which I think will be around £115. That’s great if your going to use both sets of minis and the Kill Team stuff, if your not it’s not a great deal but you can make some money back by selling what you don’t want. Ultimately I’m sure if you only want one part of this there will be plenty of sellers on eBay who will have broken down the contents to sell. I just hope the pricing isn’t too scalpy.

I was planning on buying 3 of the mechanicus and luckily I stopped and looked at the box first. Whoever is writing/editing the articles needs to be fired along with anyone who thinks this is ok. I get making a mistake by saying the super premiumly priced Pariah Nexus has the full kill team rules and will include data sheets for ALL indomitus units and not thinking enough to realize how wrong that is and how it will not only disappoint people who buy it but other things like Indomitus thinking most of the units will work in KT. But this shit is unforgivable. They showed us the old boxes more than once saying hey look reprints. But today not only were these jacked up in price by $40 bucks which is already insane, they have less than the old ones. I get that prices go up, the old ones were produced in china so I pretty much hope these were not if the price is going up by 50%, but to lie about it a trot out the old images for these expansions twice and only provide 2 actual images which just look like zoomed in promo art they were clearly trying to deceive people or have many absolutely incompetent people working on the marketing and writing for these things. Edit apparently the site I was looking at had the wrong prices saying they were $120 base not $100, still a $20 increase for less stuff.
The old munitorum set contained 6 containers, apart from the crane, so you lose 2 for a start. And you're missing all the rules, etc. but have to pay a lot more. I wouldn't really call that "decent", especially as you can still get the old 3 armoured container sets for less if its containers you are after.
Munnitorum is pictured originally with 6 containers, but the new kit only has 4, and you don't even mention this? This is quite an oversight on your part 🤷♀️

You can buy the vehicles with a container seperately.
It's not just the crane, I'm pretty sure my OG Munitorum set had 6 containers, this 'new' one has only 4. Pants.
@@LordTechnopants Yes, it had 6 containers.
It's on a separate sprue.
I miss the special rules for those boxes. They were so much fun
@@cplslash I think those rules are covered in the new Killzone book that has all the rules in one place.
This is what inflation looks like in our hobby folks. The cough economy at its worst/best...meh.
GW Value gets worse and worse, not only compared to other systems but their own old releases, which were expensive already.. Good thing I never jumped in. Their minis still are at the very top of the industry, but they're milking their community too hard imo.
You vote with your wallet. If a company pulls crap like this, don't buy it. Build your own terrain.
Damn it. Guess which one I pre-ordered.
Oh no 🤦♂️
Normally I don't like negative reports but this one has particular merit because of the nature of the box releases by GW. I wonder how badly they have exposed themselves with this. I imagine they will be accepting returns when people receive the product?
Am lucky I got the other two ages ago. Just needed the Frontier box and terrain book.
Hopefully this doesn’t happen again.
Still the Frontiers is a great box.
I'm so glad my lgs provides terrain I am waaaaay to lazy to paint terrain.
MDF terrain it is then
Wait u said "pariah nexus"
Is actually a good deal?
Gotta strongly disagree with u there it's worse than the terrain by far
No problem with disagreeing at all. I’m thinking about the overall RRP value of the box if bought seperately which I think will be around £115. That’s great if your going to use both sets of minis and the Kill Team stuff, if your not it’s not a great deal but you can make some money back by selling what you don’t want.
Ultimately I’m sure if you only want one part of this there will be plenty of sellers on eBay who will have broken down the contents to sell. I just hope the pricing isn’t too scalpy.
@@foyble I Enjoy Ur Video's & Ur Content always Like even this vid But yeah for sure at that price it's not too bad an ur right its ok but compared to other boxsets i just have to disagree if someone plays the game for what it is though it's horrible the points are way off the space marines are largely over powered but i see what u mean there asking
$165 plus Tax and That's just crazy for what u get but that's just my opinion in Yankee land
1st Traitors 🇺🇸 #1 😆
Minutorum and fornataris are still decent. The crate are very usefull.
The old munitorum set contained 6 containers, apart from the crane, so you lose 2 for a start. And you're missing all the rules, etc. but have to pay a lot more. I wouldn't really call that "decent", especially as you can still get the old 3 armoured container sets for less if its containers you are after.
@@miniscool5613 it's definetly worse. But considering all the last ones sold out so quickly. It's normal that gw up the price.
@@BTTFF you mean up the price and removing half of the contents in the process...
@@miniscool5613 yeah. and if they ell out again, it means they gave the correct amount. ;)
@@BTTFF Well, as they say, there's a sucker born every minute.
Well done for reporting on this. Not good GW. Not good at all.
So they increased the price and give you less....this really annoys me lol, i do like GW stuff, but now im really straying away from them....
Definitely glad I never touched these
These were such a scam :(
To be honest, I will not be buying this. I believe third parties make more durable and nicer terrain at half the price. Really disappointing release.
Munnitorum is pictured originally with 6 containers, but the new kit only has 4, and you don't even mention this? This is quite an oversight on your part 🤷♀️
Sorry
Just buy the necromunda terrain, hell just play necromunda it's a better game in my opinion.
A little bit late, dude.
Late for what? The video was uploaded 5 months ago.
Disliked because of the clickbait title
The title is literally about the content of the video 😂
KillTeam Starter Box with SpaceWolves and Tau releases with Sector Mechanicus Terrain...
Players: “There’s not enough terrain!! GW couldn’t have put out a worse release!!”
GW: “Hold my beer...”
