Portugal can unsurprisingly win the jury's vote. From the first seconds, we felt that Mimicat is a unique talent... The song could not be given to any other singer-voices present in Liverpool, female or male, no other manages to command the stage at this level, she chases the cameras, changes expression and emotion with each verse, speeds up and drags the voice, constantly changes inflection, classy-jazzy-pop-theatrical, and even participates in all the choreo.
This is in my top 5! Loved it from the get go! I'm sure it will sail through to final thanks to televote only in semi! Portugal has my vote from Canada!
Portugal, one of these countries living out of their LANGUAGE, French, Portuguese and Italian. Sing in these LANGUAGES, and you have a top-spot in the finals.

There are some good songs overall but i feel its more the same every year ,Portugal always bring something that isnt think to points but to show and give good vibes to all ,this song is on my top 5 for sure love it. And its the only song i can listen over and over all the rest i listen 1 time and thats it.

I love Mimicat, and I love the theatrical, the charisma, the almost "Chicago" musical or "Moulin Rouge" feel to it, love the language, the performance, her amazing voice, the amazing fantastic dancers, the easyness and confidence she clearly has on stage, the lyrics, the fun, the beat, the latin vibes (tango or cha cha cha too? hehe), the Portuguese guitar and a hint of Fado, melancolly, etc, etc...
So since Germany can vote... hehe.. und "Ich bin ein Berliner" !! 🍻🤣

This is a complete Eurovision song. It's funny, dramatic, it goes up and down and you can't stop dancing. The cabaret vibe and her vocals and vibrato range...super! This is both jury and televote material for the first time since Salvador Sobral.

I am half French half Portuguese (born in France but my parents are Portuguese) and I love this song so much! Usually I love sad and melancholic songs, but I fell in love with Mimicat and her charisma, she deserves the final so much! I will vote for her as much as I can! By the way, not only is this literally a cabaret song, Mimicat herself said that she took inspiration from Balkan music, namely Emir Kusturica, so I expect this to also be a hit with all the Eastern European countries in our semi-final (I've already seen some reactions, namely from a Ukrainian girl, that seem to confirm that).
And the staging, well… It does need some polishing for such a bigger stage (in case you didn't notice, Festival da Canção took place again in RTP's studios this year, instead of on a concert arena, so that stage was positively tiny by comparison with the ESC's), but she literally said in one of her interviews that she's going to, and I quote, “bring a Portuguese cabaret to Liverpool”. If I had to bet, I'd say she will still have the couch for that part of the choreography, but then mirror the crescendo of the song with a deluge of dancers on that stage.
Sadly, the max number of people on stage is 6. So she won’t be bringing any more people, she could only bring one more. Unless she takes Loreen’s 5 remaining spots 😂 But I’m curious to see how they’ll improve the performance! And I really hope she gets through to the final, it would be a shame if she didn’t get to the final, the first semi-final is very talent heavy, most of the favourite songs are on that lineup so fingers crossed!
The elements from several World Music origins is what makes it a great piece of pop art in 3 minutes. I hear Vaudeville, cabaret, flamenco, Balkan, fado, country, mexican. A heart like a world circus ballet. I am so proud of my 2023 entry ! U go, garl!
Where' s the flamenco/ Spanish gypsy? The Mexican ??? This is a Portuguese músic, with something Burlesque, Cabaret, Balkans...And step dance is Anglo-Irish, NOT Zpanish flamenco!!!! Well, for Zpanish supramacist, step dance is flamenco, red dress is flamenco, sensuality os flamenco, Cabaret and Burlesque is brothel flamenco..etc😅 Mr. Putin are you sure that you are Rússian or Z panish with that mind???😢
I love this entry and I think a lot of people gonna conect with it, yes the stage needs to be MORE extra but not to much either, but we know RTP knows how to stage so I'm not worry about that.

I am completely biased since I am Portuguese 😂 but I loved this song since first hearing it (even without performance). This being said semi final 1 is quite strong but winning or losing I am so happy its Mimicat representing Portugal this year :) I love your reactions btw!

Deban, I loved when you mentioned the island of "Curaçao"... well that was originally a Portuguese word although the meaning was completely different from "Coração". The reason the first "o" almost sounds like an "u" is because our set of vowels (a, e, i, o, u) has three ways or sounds to pronounce each one and depends on where the vowel falls within a word. That makes Portuguese a much more difficult language to learn (yet BEAUTIFUL!) because in part of its nasal sound like in French. Completely different from the Castilian language of Spain generally referred as "Spanish". So in "Coração" that first "o' sounds more like an "u". THANKS GUYS FOR SUCH A GREAT REVIEW!

Mimicat is a great performer and the song is different from all others. It will probably depend now on how the staging will be and what upgrades she may add to make it more appealing for the televote. Spain not voting in semifinal 1 is redundant. They didn't give any points to MARO last year anyway.

She is not actually talking about the island in the Caribbean (Curaçao). But the association is not far off. The name of the island comes from the word "Coração" (Heart, like the name of the song). On the island, despite having Dutch administration it is spoken a Portuguese creole.
