Us sold so much f-35s to so much countries it is just matter of time when the tech gets so common everybody gets their hands on it. It all takes just a story like iran and f-14. Then theyll have to revert to wwii era dogfighting (because the planes wont be literally able to see each other beyond an actual line of sight). 10 years and were there.

Ease and cost of maintenance is a peace time concern. In war, survivability is the only thing that matters. I can fully fund all fuel and maintenance on an f35 for 1500 flight hrs for the cost of one lost gripen.
The gripen is vulnerable to radar threats at 100 miles, the f35 at 25. Thats an unbelievable massive difference in threat profile.

The problem is that it’s in a series of big cost overruns, and some of these costly projects have also turned out to be complete flops - like the littoral combat ship where several hulls are being decommissioned after less than a decade, or the Zumwalt class that has plenty of interesting technologies but where even the shells for its main cannon turned out to be ridiculously expensive.
Only time will tell about the F-35. The fact that the US fleet of F-35 fighters continues to face problems with reliability, maintainability, and availability is not encouraging. Apparently the planes are only available for operations around 50% of the time, well below its 65% target.

This video is a bit of an understatement. The f35s madl das and eots work together ti share raw sensor data with all platforms on the system, this can include awacs, patriot, and aegis. Each f35 then runs all the raw data through some programs to generate synthetic returns that may not otherwise be visible or recognizable to any one plane.
Das allows the f35 to maintain long range situational awareness without radar emissions, a critical weakness of the f22. It can also do terrain mapping and compare it to a satellite imagery, enabling it to navigate without gps.

They literally haven't done anything to the US. Do you just go over to your neighbors house and start punching and kicking for no reason? Of course not cause you are a coward. Even if they gave you a reason you wouldn't. Now let's pretend that China did do something that warrants the US going to war with them. Have you not been paying attention the past 80 years? The US has lost every war they have been in since Russia and China was on their side doing all the heavy lifting. You actually not only want but think the US is going to go to China and show them who's boss? After losing to half of tiny little poor Vietnam with the other half on their side? Then losing to tiny little 3rd world Iraq? Then losing to tiny little 3rd world Afghanistan? What drugs are you on? How can anyone be so stupid? I swear the US may not be worth a fuck at fighting wars but their brainwashing is simply next level. Do you hear people in Japan going around saying "yeah I know we lost to China, India, Australia, the UK, Russia and the US but if we attack all of them plus Spain, Switzerland, Iceland and all of south america then we can win that way. No? You know why? Because only a complete idiot would think to say something so stupid.

And the penguin-like nickname isn’t “flying penguin” it’s “battle penguin” and it’s not meant as an insult, it’s referring to how the F-35 has relatively short wings, the reason why “battle” is included is because of how well the F-35 performs in battle.
