I think this pair of slippers could’ve made a lot of sense considering the curled toe part looks more like a witches shoe
There are quite a few pairs of the "Ruby Slippers" that were used in the production of the film, many were discovered by a young man in LA that when the studios were literally destroying their wardrobe/props he would take a few choice items home with him at the end of the day. He had 3 or 4 of the pairs of the ruby slippers sold 1 sold another to Debbie not sure what happened to the other pairs.
The curled toe slipper is stunning
R.I.P Debbie and Judy😟
These ruby slippers look more like the ones from the book and even the 1982 animated cartoon
@thewzrdofoz I saw the shoes myself at the preview of the auction in person & YES they were VERY frail, areas of threadbare & were torn in spots. Many of the sequins were missing. NEENER NEENER!
That pair is closer to the look of it the shoes in the book
Three , debbies sold , one at the Smithsonian and one pair in a private collection !
and no disrespect to you Debbie but the arabian test pair were just that and never worn during the first two weeks. Another pair sans bows were used during the first two weeks of production under director Richard Thorpe.
@burffle I know they look fragile, and definitely are... I was wrong to say they weren't. But clearly she wasn't worried about them falling apart. They seem pretty stable to hold. I, myself, would feel comfortable holding these shoes without gloves. Like I said, she is holding them from the bottom, nothing happened, done deal, who cares :P
They are, in my opinion, worth just as much as the ruby slippers that were used. These could have potentially been THE ruby slippers!
@yaleboy716 Well, they're her slippers. She can do whatever she wants with it.
I think I like the Ruby Slippers from the animated TV Version better, though the Arab style of them would look better in Emerald Green.
@yaleboy716 They aren't that fragile. And she is holding them from the bottom. It doesn't really matter.
The new Look was much better..Looks like aladin shoes
why did you save those there was another pair of shoes that dorothy wore and they were the the worn out pair of farming or character shoes very similiar to gandies sandals silly debbie you saved the wrong shoes
Why is she Not wearing gloves ??
#Nike 🪽 #Puma Ruby slippers? #bakertilly #Macys
The person from halloween town really
Those shoes were never found, and were likely used on other pictures and then thrown away. It's GREAT of Debbie to save this pair. She was originally going to buy a pair of screen worn Ruby Slippers, but someone bought them before her.
