Happy birthday Nathanael and Noah! Always very nice to get an update on Mr Noah, who is looking great and strong. Actually, he looks incredible for 22. My dove Cooper says hello, he's only 6 months old and he is very low maintenance, calm apart from when he coos every morning. You are absolutely right about how high maintenance other birds are - I have lots of birds and it's a massive commitment.

If someone came up to me and said "I'm going to give my 9 year old a bird with a multidecade lifespan" I'd try my best to talk them out of it, leading with "the kid is going to grow tired of it in about a minute and then you'll have to decide whether to give it away (read neglect it) or have it put down". I have one just like that called Stella. She is a sweetheart but I wish she had a better life because I have other pets they don't all mix well. I was going to release her because she had a wild mood and rescued from a bad pet store. But then she started liking me without me doing anything, so I could not release her anymore because she could be captured by anyone.

These birds are domesticated birds, releasing ringneck doves are sending them to their deaths, not agile flyers and in 5 minutes they drop to the ground
People seem not to know and they are released for funerals and weddings sending them to get killed, they are like puppies on a highway

Could you do an actual video of the things you do to care for him? Food, toys, cage, any useful information tips/tricks for someone who would consider getting one and dont know where to start?
I’ve done one before, but for mine personally it probably wouldn’t be the best video. He literally doesn’t like anything toy wise lol. He’s just so chill. I feed him cockatiel food, and he loves egg shells as a treat (crumbled up to small pieces).

How did you trained it to avoid ceiling fan? 🕊️ Also please give me advices the way to become a good owner. 🕊️
So I always kept him away from them or turned them off just in case. Anytime he flew, he would typically turn away from them, but in one instance he did go straight for it and I had to grab him in mid air. I recommend always turning them off, and if your bird lands on one, they’ll eventually get down or use a step ladder. Good tips for your bird is to see what toys they like early on. Doves like egg shells for snacks (crunched up), as well as mine loves smaller bits of bird food. He doesn’t like large food at all. Every bird is different, for example: mine does not like any toys whatsoever, or even perches. He likes one, tiny perch, and doesn’t like anything else in his cage or he gets intimidated. So find out what your bird is comfortable with early on ❤
you need to keep the fan off, keep away from water buckets, the toilet, hot stove etc. no open windows without screens...
my pigeon used to jump on the fan (it was off) and slowly spin around like it was a ferris wheel.
