I’ve been subscribed for a while now and had no idea you were from Wetumpka. I’m a FF in Montgomery and just spent the past 2 weeks in the Coosa certifying other FF’s in swift water rescue. I love the Coosa!
Crazy didn’t know you are from Wetumpka. Been watching your vids a long time but guess I missed the hometown. I’m from Montgomery spent many days on the Tallapoosa. Just moved to Foley and trying my salt legs now. Hope to see you on the beach. Great video as always.
The creeks here in Indiana are loaded with spots, great fun on light or ultra light gear. A half pounder on an UL with a micro hard bait will give anyone all the fight you want.
I always fish Jordan Dam. Caught some nice Stripers and Crappie down there. Seen the biggest catfish I've ever seen caught there too. May hit Jordan this weekend
It's always good Bum to go back home to see the family and do some fishing. U caught some really nice Spots!!!! Another great Bama Bum vid!!!!❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Cool video. I just like your enthusiasm. Don't matter the size, or the fish...even a kitty gets you nuts. It's fun for me to watch your videos. Keep up the great work
Great Vid! does the audio reflect actual at the time catch? Just trying to see how u know what kind of fish so quickly... you knew the fish was barely hooked...you are tha man!!
We’re going to GS next week for several days. Recommend any eateries where you locals go? We try to hang out under the radar! Any marine museums you’d recommend? Thank you.
Another great video Matt and will definitely be looking forward to the Cape cod series. Keep up the great work and definitely looking forward to some clickbaters videos in the future.
Great video love catching stripers always hit the bait like a runaway freight train nice way to top the day off with the spotted bass love how you're mixing up the content love your videos looking forward to your next one👍
I was just there a month ago visiting family. Transported my kayak from Florida and fished downstream along the edges. Made a video out of it but caught nothing but catfish throwing soft plastics. Should I have stayed closer to the dam? Or maybe fished more in the center of the river/deeper water? Great video as always!
I see that Alabama Power still likes to run water through that far turbine. I never had a rod that could bomb a lure out far enough to get in that current where the big stripers hang out.
Bass fishing has been a little tough lately for me between everything going on hopefully soon my dad will take some time to take me out fishing but for now I am filming me at my local creek!!!! #bigcreeksteppa
ohhhhh i wonder what Indian language and word Wetumpka originally derived from? Guess I’ll have to do a little googlage and etymologizing. Fun to say that word/city name.
dang that means you had to buy that 7 dollar gas up there. still 4 where I’m at. Yikes! Ho back down. But excellent that you had a good trip, nevertheless!
I live in Montgomery and have never fished at the Dam. When I do I'll take my Bummy Stick and try the same set up. Hope I win the fishing trip with you.
I live around Chelsea. I'm not to far from The Coosa River lakes, and below each dam is some of the best fresh water fishing anywhere. We are blessed with magnum Spots and more stripers than you can catch in a lifetime. Good luck.
@@BamaBeachBum Went to Jordan Dam Memorial day. The guy that was in the video that you did in December was there. He and others were checking my Bummy Stick.
That spillway made me think that it was the pier fishing version of freshwater fishing. I wonder how a spoon would go being tossed across there? Maybe sink and pop, sink and pop. I've never fished in the US but I think I like spots and small mouth over large mouth. Just better looking fish in general and more aggressive, pound for pound from what I've seen from UA-cam and talking to American fishermen.
@@TheCaptainbeefylog I lived in slapout. We used spoons a lot but the snags here are real. Half ounce jig head with a white riverside tail is what we mainly used. Guaranteed 3-4 jigs lost every trip but caught some huge fish

Great video, Matt! Thanks for sharing this with us! Stay Safe and Healthy!!

Great video! That first Striper was awesome!
You must be on the northern end of the lake . Martin is one of my go to lakes in Alabama.

fresh water, pound for pound spotted bass are one of the toughest fighters. They swim down when most bass swim up.

Nicely done. Great video

Lol it’s in real time. Usually based on where, how, and what I’m fishing for I can guess what I’ve got on.

It probably just depends, but I’ve noticed more of the striper hang closer to the dam in the fastest moving water.
@@BamaBeachBum cool! Appreciate the reply🙌
Anybody ever tell you that you favor Mark Walburg??
Nice Multi Species fish Matt 👍
I went there and didn't catch nothing and I was fishing with cutbait and liver can somebody tell me what to use to bass fish there
Yoooo! When are you coming to Texas my boi!?!?!?
Not sure yet, but definitely want to make that trip!

You must have took the day off.. here in texas spots like that are shoulder to shoulder.
Matt, is the June grass going to be as bad this year as it was last year?
June grass hasn’t shown up yet, but the sargassum is out of control.
THE BUM LIVES!
All you do is go fishin'. What a bum. I'm so jealous!
Edit, that's the first time I've seen a bass caught on a surf rod 😆
Lol me too
Side kick wheels? Are they cheaper than the other brand? I will research.
They are designed through Bonafide for their kayaks and Native Kayaks.
@@BamaBeachBum thanks bro. I have a hobie pa 14. The other brand is about 500 bucks. i will research these.
I love to see you oil your reels matthew how do you do it
I don’t do it. I pay to have them serviced.

How do I sighn up to win a chance to fish with the living legend????
2 videos ago I posted a link in the description of you’d like to sign up!
To get to the big boys you need to get out to the big water. Get you a 1 1/2 Oz buck tail jig put a trailer on it or not. Sling that baby, Bum
I’ll have to try that!

Spoons work great in these areas. The day I made this video there was a guy down from me crushing white bass on a spoon.
