What I liked about MoM is it's not a story about extraordinary characters doing extraordinary things, these are characters you would come across in your daily life, mundane, parochial and extremely relatable. The writing was nuanced in that it didn't belittle the intelligence of the viewer and expected them to rise up to the level of the storytelling at display. We need more such movies coming into our TFI.
I really was in a very confused state about my career around that time when MOM released. It reminded me of what I fell in love with the craft for, to tell stories. Watched it a bunch of times and booked random tickets in random cities just to support the film and moved to Mumbai to pursue filmmaking. It was the push I needed and im glad it did. See you at the movies. ❤
