Creating a feature layer for ArcGIS Field Maps

Wow, what a convoluted way to jump across three software applications just to add an editable layer to a map! Thanks for being so good at what you do, Esri!

Thanks for your comment. The editable layer is created in ArcGIS Online and then is accessible in Field Maps on your phone so it is really just 1 application to prepare the data and map for deployment on your phone in the field in a native app.
