I have been trying it without any luck so far. It may just not work for what I am trying to accomplish or I just don't know what I'm doing. I have not really done anything with text masking but might be something I could look at. If I had a little better idea of what you are trying to accomplish I might give it a shot. I do like messing with text effects and image prompts so might like to try what you are talking about. Glad to hear you find the videos helpful.
Thanks for the feedback! I have not covered that yet. But if you click on copy and then past into the prompt it should change the generate button so it says "Load Parameters". Just click on that and should be good to go.
Hey I have juggernaut already downloaded into another folder than is not in C drive. So when I run the fooocus bat file how do I prevent it from download the checkpoint again and instead load it from the other directory(Without having to move the checkpoint to c drive)?
Google Colab will either cost a subscription or you'll have to get lucky in order to run it during low use periods. Installing locally, you're using your own hardware.

It will only need internet to download any models. For example the first time you use inpainting it will need to download the models used. But otherwise yes it is offline.
Can you run Fooocus locally, as in without needing to access it through the Internet and a browser? Does it have a local "offline" mode and is it dependent on the Internet?
It does not need access to the internet to run but it does use the browser window as the interface. And it does download what it needs when you first use something in Fooocus. For example the first time you do inpainting it would download the inpainting models that are needed.
I'm not sure which AMD cards it'll work with but you will need to follow the instructions for AMD on the GitHub page. There are a couple minor changes. And it may be slow.
And once you start using it there will be models that get downloaded that use a decent amount of room so you will want to make sure you have plenty of space
For a laptop you would probably need to upgrade the hard drive or try using a fast external SSD or USB thumbdrive. Not sure how great it would work but have heard others say it is good with USB3.
fooocus is no launching even after everything is installed in CMD, it says click any button to proceed and if click CMD is getting closed. any idea why it's happening like this.

It's awfully nice of you to help answer questions and solve various problems. Mine is a path related issue which I think you addressed in another video but haven't found. Specifically, the command line to set windows path to python. Can you please tell me where I might find it? I thank you hugely in advance.
How did you install Fooocus? If you download and install using the 7zip file it should all be in a folder and Python will be the embedded version and should not really have to deal with that. That is how I recommend installing it so no need to worry about things like that and also easy to backup and move around.
@@KLEEBZTECH I think it was one archive, which ran and loaded everything. On the second launch I got the error. Perhaps I should get 2.5 and "reinstall" with the latest version? The large files it downloaded before will also work with 2.5 if I copy them over?
You can reinstall and move over files. Are you possibly getting an error because it is updating to 2.5? I do have a video on how to possibly fix that if so. But if a path error I am not sure since that really should not be an issue if installed with the downloaded archive.
Not exactly. But you can use 1.5 models in Fooocus. You just need to use an SDXL model as the primary and then in the refiner dropdown choose a 1.5 model and then you can even use 1.5 LoRAs. When you choose a refiner it will give you a suggestion on where to adjust where the refiner switches right under that. "Use 0.4 for SD1.5 realistic models; or 0.667 for SD1.5 anime models; or 0.8 for XL-refiners; or any value for switching two SDXL models."
Honestly you are on the low end of the recommended specs so you will have to make sure you are not running other things most likely. Are there any errors in the CMD window? If you first time running it does need to download the models and everything first. You should be able to see what is happening in the CMD window.
when i run.bat is run successfully after that some 6GB stuff is downloaded. in the last it's showing press any key to continue i pressed the any key then nothing happened . why ??? pls help me out if you can....thanks
Fooocus doesn't work with 16GB of RAM! I have a GTX1660 6gb vram and 16gb ram and it freezes, crashes my entire system consuming all the ram as soon as I open the program.
I do know someone who runs it on their laptop with 16GB of RAM and has no issues. I would look on the Github page at the troubleshooting. Start with the stuff about system swap. github.com/lllyasviel/Fooocus/blob/main/troubleshoot.md

From what you describe for your laptop it will not run since you need 32GB of RAM if using CPU only. You would probably need to use the Colab version listed on the Github page or an online service like rundiffusion.com/

Have you tried downloading again and seeing what happens with a fresh copy? You can have multiple copies and just have in different folders for each. I do that for testing. Might be worth trying to help narrow down the issue.
Is it possible? Yes. And as for git and python, if you download the zip file and use it all in the folder then everything is kept in that folder. But the next question is should you.... Probably not. Even with a very fast external it is probably going to be very slow to load models and such. Best is to install on an internal SSD. But you can give it a try and see. But if the external is not SSD don't waste your time.

What do you have for a video card (GPU)? Because it sounds like you might not meet the requirements to run it based on that message. But can be something else but usually there will be something else in the CMD window before that.

I installed RVC voice clone, haven't booted it up yet as still figuring out the lib dependencies et al but I notice this - pip install torch torchvision torchaudio - whereas for Fooocus there are extra lines of code to paste in the BAT file - .\python_embeded\python.exe -m pip uninstall torch torchvision torchaudio torchtext functorch xformers -y .\python_embeded\python.exe -m pip install torch-directml - the latter seems to uninstall some? I wonder what you make of this and will it matter? I guess if they're both using the Python lib then it would, if you have any idea any advice greatly appreciated, I'll buy you some electricity....
I am not sure how you are setting things up but the way I show with downloading and extracting it is all contained in the folder and not actually installed.

I have not run on an AMD system yet but my understanding is you only need to edit the run.bat file and add a few lines. You can right click on the run.bat file and open in notepad to edit. github.com/lllyasviel/Fooocus?tab=readme-ov-file#windows-amd-gpus
Yes there are special instructions on Github on how to set it up for AMD if the card you have is supported I am not sure. But you do need to edit the run.bat file for AMD I do know.

There could be something blocking it like security software. But you should be able to access it by going to 127.0.0.1:7865/ in your browser and you should see that in the CMD window unless you are getting an error.

I assume that is the browser. We need to know what the CMD window shows when you run the run.bat file. It should open a CMD window that shows what is happening. As seen at 03:11 in the video.
First thing I would mention it you can use on Google colab for free. Of course the free tier only gives a limited time each day but is an option. Will have to think about other options. It should only download the default models the first time you run it or any of the other presets. Same as the first time you use something like inpainting it will download what is needed. Silly questions are fine since we all start somewhere.

Yeah you are on the bare minimum. Colab can be used but the free tier is limited. But you could use that and once you use your daily usage use your local one. Also might want to use the speed setting or even at some point look at using the lightning models but I would not jump to fast into that until you learn a little bit. They don't look as good but generate much faster.
What is it showing in the command window that's happening? Usually anything that's happening the background will be shown and if it's a new download it needs to get all the things downloaded that it needs. Another issue can be if it's on a slow hard drive.
When you want to use it you run one of the .bat files. That will open a CMD window which you will leave running while you are using Fooocus in the browser. If you close the CMD window it will stop Fooocus.
Once the default model has been downloaded you should not need to again. And I would suggest checking out some of my other videos on Fooocus to learn how to use other models and some of the advanced features once you learn the basics.
Working on my next one now and should be up tonight or tomorrow hopefully. Big snowstorm so depends on how long it takes to clear the snow. My system is i5-10600KF - 32GB RAM, NVIDIA 3070 with 8GB VRAM.

I have a friend who runs it on a laptop and his video card has just 4 or 6 GB of VRAM. Fooocus I have found runs pretty well on lower end systems compared to some of the others. @@Pouya..
I have not tried installing on AMD yet so I don't have much insight with the AMD install. Maybe someone else might have some suggestions. I will have to give it a shot myself soon and make a video. Just need to dig up an AMD card.
You can but need to manually adjust the settings in debug menu. The built in lightning setting they now have uses the 4 step lightning lora so you can use with any SDXL model. So you don't want to use that setting with a specific lightning model. I don't know the settings off the top of my head because I don't use those models. I have used the lightning setting with standard models and it works very well.
One big factor will be VRAM with dedicated video card. Nvidia is the best for this stuff. I would suggest at least 8GB VRAM if possible. Also a decent amount of RAM. CPU is not a big factor.
It is, there is info on what you need to do on Github but will warn that it takes a very long time to generate images that way and you need at least 32GB of RAM I think. I have not tried it myself yet.
Should usually open automatically. Check the CMD window to see if any errors. It does need to download models on first use. If not you could have something blocking it from opening. But it should show the local address in the CMD window
I may in the future but at the moment I do not have any plans for a video on that. I find if you don't pay for their services they don't work very well at least for me.

When gerating image python use 90% out of 16gb ram, but vram usage is very very only about 18 out of 12gb. Does anyone having this issue?

I don't see "run.bat" in my files list but I see a "run " file . Is that the same thing?
Probably. If you do not have Windows set to show known file extensions it will probably not show the .bat part.

When downloading the 6gb file it gets stuck, tried using crtl + c (which did nothing) and restarting but it always gets stuck. Any idea why?

Does it work on amd rx-580? run.bat worked until it got an error about CUDA drivers (I have an old NV GT240 card) and exited with an error.

Well I guess that depends on where you installed it. The pictures of cats are probably for the style previews when you hover over them.

Once you extract it there should be a run.bat file. That is what you are looking for. There is no exe file.

Look at what is happening in the CMD window. First time using it must download models.

What do you have for a video card (GPU)? Because it sounds like you might not meet the requirements to run it based on that message. But can be something else but usually there will be something else in the CMD window before that.

I installed RVC voice clone, haven't booted it up yet as still figuring out the lib dependencies et al but I notice this - pip install torch torchvision torchaudio - whereas for Fooocus there are extra lines of code to paste in the BAT file - .\python_embeded\python.exe -m pip uninstall torch torchvision torchaudio torchtext functorch xformers -y
.\python_embeded\python.exe -m pip install torch-directml - the latter seems to uninstall some? I wonder what you make of this and will it matter? I guess if they're both using the Python lib then it would, if you have any idea any advice greatly appreciated, I'll buy you some electricity....
I am not sure how you are setting things up but the way I show with downloading and extracting it is all contained in the folder and not actually installed.
@@KLEEBZTECH Thanks buddy, I'm just watching you now...theres a voice prog, similar deal though the code I showed you has a few contradictions with teh Python dependencies/libs in the BAT file, uninstall/install torch etc. Thanks for your reply (and the tutorials I am currently watching), I'll just see what happens I hope they just run...I'll let you know...have you seen the RVC voice generator?

Nope once downloaded you can use it offline since they will be saved.

Yes there are special instructions on Github on how to set it up for AMD if the card you have is supported I am not sure. But you do need to edit the run.bat file for AMD I do know.

There could be something blocking it like security software. But you should be able to access it by going to 127.0.0.1:7865/ in your browser and you should see that in the CMD window unless you are getting an error.

First thing I would mention it you can use on Google colab for free. Of course the free tier only gives a limited time each day but is an option. Will have to think about other options. It should only download the default models the first time you run it or any of the other presets. Same as the first time you use something like inpainting it will download what is needed. Silly questions are fine since we all start somewhere.

Yeah you are on the bare minimum. Colab can be used but the free tier is limited. But you could use that and once you use your daily usage use your local one. Also might want to use the speed setting or even at some point look at using the lightning models but I would not jump to fast into that until you learn a little bit. They don't look as good but generate much faster.

What is it showing in the command window that's happening? Usually anything that's happening the background will be shown and if it's a new download it needs to get all the things downloaded that it needs. Another issue can be if it's on a slow hard drive.

Are you running it on an SSD? If not and using a standard spinning hard drive that could be your issue.

When you want to use it you run one of the .bat files. That will open a CMD window which you will leave running while you are using Fooocus in the browser. If you close the CMD window it will stop Fooocus.

Once the default model has been downloaded you should not need to again. And I would suggest checking out some of my other videos on Fooocus to learn how to use other models and some of the advanced features once you learn the basics.

I have a friend who runs it on a laptop and his video card has just 4 or 6 GB of VRAM. Fooocus I have found runs pretty well on lower end systems compared to some of the others. @@Pouya..

I had problems with the installation fooocus on an AMD video card RX5700XT.
I have not tried installing on AMD yet so I don't have much insight with the AMD install. Maybe someone else might have some suggestions. I will have to give it a shot myself soon and make a video. Just need to dig up an AMD card.

hey great video , i was wondering can i run SDXL turbo models with focus?
You can but need to manually adjust the settings in debug menu. The built in lightning setting they now have uses the 4 step lightning lora so you can use with any SDXL model. So you don't want to use that setting with a specific lightning model. I don't know the settings off the top of my head because I don't use those models. I have used the lightning setting with standard models and it works very well.
When using that setting you won't see the lora enabled in the menu but if you check the log it shows that it is used.

One big factor will be VRAM with dedicated video card. Nvidia is the best for this stuff. I would suggest at least 8GB VRAM if possible. Also a decent amount of RAM. CPU is not a big factor.

It is, there is info on what you need to do on Github but will warn that it takes a very long time to generate images that way and you need at least 32GB of RAM I think. I have not tried it myself yet.

Should usually open automatically. Check the CMD window to see if any errors. It does need to download models on first use. If not you could have something blocking it from opening. But it should show the local address in the CMD window

Wish I could help with that but I have not looked into it since all my systems are running Nvidia. I do know that it is possible.

When you run run_realistic.bat what happens? The first place to look is to see what happens in the CMD window which should open and show what is happening. The first time it is run it will need to download models which can take some time.

What are you running it on? OS and basic system specs?
Have you tried hitting ENTER or CTRL+C once when it hangs on that? I have sometimes found that will get it to continue when something hangs for me.
