it was 2015 and my sister was hospitalized for a kidney disease without a cure, which causes random kidney failure. my dad was trying to see her for what could've been the last moments of her life (her kidneys were only working at about 4%) on the night of my very last daddy-daughter dance before junior high.
during this song, when everyone was slowdancing happily with their dads, i had a mental breakdown and was sobbing in the bathroom.

Sang this for 5th grade graduation. I didn't regret it a bit. This song makes me remember all the happy times I had at that school. There wasn't any politics or anything. Sure there was friend groups but almost everyone was nice. And I absolutely adored my elementary teachers.
My husband and I tried for 17 years for another child. In 2016 we finally had our son. I sang this song to him every night while I was pregnant. He still loves it to this day
