Amazing how close these monsters felt they were to God yet God “never knew them”. They made themselves Gods. Perhaps a semi-unique idea planted by Joseph Smith. The possibilities expand (not for good) in a faith where you can become God rather than just worship God for all eternity. The Bible even says we are not to “think of ourselves higher than we ought”. Chad and Lori clearly thought very highly of themselves.

Detective Hermosillo is an incredible witness. I respect his ability to be cross-examined in a way that he stood his ground on the question of where Chad was looking as it was an absurd question to continue to rephrase on the part of the defense. While I understand the defense wanted to establish that there were other possibilities of where Chad could’ve been looking aside from the tree by the pond, it sounded incredibly clear that the tree would be the only object in view for which he could’ve been looking.
