Let me put it simply, Canelo can do whatever he wants. He calls the shots. David doesn’t even deserve the fight, he needs to earn it. If people really want David to fight Canelo, David needs to have a couple more fights to prove he’s a worthy opponent for Canelo.

I think for sure it’s a shame that we don’t see Benavides v Canelo but if your comment that Canelo is washed is incorrect, Canelo was holding up Munguía so he wouldnt get knocked out but he looked in complete control. The situation is similar to when Mayweather was aging he stepped in and out of boxing waiting for a big pay day. So you have to think, Canelo has a lot of money and he is still training hard looks clean working hard. When you are a boxer and you are working your way up, you don’t get a lot of money for your fights. So when you are the top and you get the choice, no one is telling you what to do you call the shots, why would you do what other people are telling you to do. But we would all like to see that fight, but what did canelo say, all he is offering is +25 lbs on fight night and no extra money. Benavidez had te WBC and lost it on the scale so it’s kinda his fault the Canelo fight is not happening. He’s not really a super middle weight. Let’s see how he does in his actual weight class against Gvodzyk good fighter.

Fr he looked better this fight than the previous 4 fights. He was able to out land a volume puncher who is active rounds 1-12 and is significantly younger than him.
