The bassist wrote and sung lead on 2 tracks about his struggle with alcoholism. Save Me is his begging for help to kick the habit and be able to feel again (Hold me, 'cause I'm sure I'm hated / Promises, they are overrated / Wait just a while, while I'm drowning in denial), and Liquid State is about the relentless mess he got when he was drunk (Kick me when I'm down / Feed me poison, fill me 'till I drown). Thankfully he has overcome the addiction (as best as an addict can) and looks much, much healthier and happier.
