I love how you point out the YOU don't have too much equipment, standing in front of a zillion lenses. The whole time I was watching your video I was thinking to myself that I could never sell any of my old cameras or lenses, even though I don't use them, any more. One day one of my nieces or nephews will find this information on how to sell the old equipment very helpful, for sure, though.
Leigh - Love your videos. Could you please do a video on your file storage and management. You use multiple computers and lightroom like many of us. I was wondering how you manage the library and files to keep them organized? Both photos and videos are of interest to me. I am also interested in your backup and file security processes. Thanks so much for all you do.
Hi Leigh and Raymond, all great ideas, but maybe another couple to think about ...1. check out your outdoor clothing, some might be getting a bit tired or need reproofing .. after all, creativity suffers when we're wet and cold .... well mine certainly does 2. If you've got a tripod, make sure you get any grit out of the telescopic sections, so that it is ready for work, and you don't end up with a dodgy leg slowing you down. Thanks for the super advice, always helpful!
Great video! Would love, if you haven't already done so, a video on equipment organization. Everyone is different, but some guiding principles would be much appreciated.
Thanks Leigh, I currently own the Nikon Z50 and often clean my lenses, but I haven't clean my sensor. So a video on how to clean your sensor (sensor cleaning kit you recommend) would much appreciated!
I noticed your Edward Hopper book on the top left shelf. Could you possibly make a video about Edward Hopper or about how your fine arts degree informs your photography? Thanks a lot. BTW, I enjoyed the pre-holiday inventory and clean up suggestions.
Thank you so much! I had procrastinated on cleaning my camera after an outdoor shoot. It's done now 😀 Also, a friend of mine forgot to insert his memory card after he used them to transfer his photos. Sadly, older DSLRs do not warn you!
That is why I always transfer my files by cable, it may be slightly slower but you can leave your cards in your camera, plus it saves wear on your cards contacts
Im about to have to go through all of this....I shoot raptors 99% of the time so they will be here soon...I always tell people to hold their camera lens down and use a blower to go around the mount before you unmount and change lenses....Using this method I am on my 4th year with the D500 and I have never had to wet clean the sensor and I shoot in the river bottoms mainly where there is plenty of mud and everything else to get in your camera...Also take the time to wipe off your lens mount on your camera body and lenses..And last but not least keep your body cap and lens caps clean I think this is where most people get debris in their cameras...If my lens mount is really dirty and looking off colored ( do at your own risk!!! I'm not saying its the right thing to do so use caution and im not responsible for any damage ) I use electronic contact cleaner, it makes the mounts look new! Plus its good to clean your contact pins occasionally at your own risk!
Organization of your organization process to make sure everything is in tip-top shape is a train we'll happily hop on board with!

That's helpful, as your videos always are. Thanks.
Excellent and timely advice.
I'll be looking forward to your next hike and taking some beautiful gorgeous photos

Tripod maintenance - good idea!
Thanks for reinforcing. I did the exercise last weekend ☺️

Good idea! Organization kind of fits into an upcoming video I have planned. :)
I have 2 Nikons and a Polaroid. Haven’t figured out how to update the firmware on the Polaroid yet😅.
Thanks for reminding me to update my firmware 👍

I don't have a video on sensor cleaning but here's a good one... ua-cam.com/video/b-7ciRxh6s8/v-deo.html He goes into detail on each step. :)

Good idea! I’ll add it to my list!
