    Thats one brilliant ATV fencing rig he's got there! And that hoop in the front lets him just drive right over the fence? Amazed.

    WONDERFUL!! Keep up the good work publicizing your progress and that it is actually POSSIBLE to get along with the natural paths for land health that God created, instead of constantly trying to think up new ways to fight AGAINST and subdue nature!

    Fantastic story Stewart. A great example of starting with what you can do now (ie, mobbing your cattle) and then expanding from there as things get better. Regenerative landscape management in action. Great support Lachlan CMA. Well done all round.

    "...you feel as if you're at last somewhere near in sync...instead of fighting it, you're going with nature instead of battling it" The whole video says a lot. Purely on instinct we know this kind of farming and other methods like it are the way forward. Some people even plan the grazing around crops to fertilise, know when to use it, etc.

    HM, Holistic Management, is a set of 7 questions to consider when choosing any option in working with ANY resource. Human resources, money, forests, schools, businesses small to international, govts, NOT just farming/ranching. The more we talk about HM related to grasslands, the longer it'll be trapped and not adopted by other sectors! Please pin this comment

    This is literally rotational grazing, isn't it? Frankly, I see so difference. If there is, someone, please explain to me!

    This is an honest question. So how does this help revive streams on a farm. I have 600 ha and my stream has dried

      The ground holds moisture more, might be tough if it's a drought. Watched a couple of these types of film, try searching reversing desertification. Hope your stream runs again.

    Put the animals back in their natural environment and watch everything get better.

    What do you do to stop pink eye. Everyone here seems to brush hog because of pink eye.

    • @rochrich1223
      @rochrich1223 7 років тому +1

      Tall grass causing pink eye is mostly an old wives tale. The time of year you get tall grass is when the forage is deteriorating under conventional practice and is also the time the flies get heavy. So you have a weaker immune system and a vector to spread the disease.
      Also when your cattle density is high enough to do a daily move, they tend to trample much of the tall grass and weeds down. So even if you believe the eye injury explanation of pink eye, that danger is reduced.

      Thanks for the info

    • @ajb.822

      Yes, as a former WI dairy farmer, the pink eye is because of flies &/or spreads amongst them as they crowd around the water tank ( they have access to all day, but move in groups mostly & many push n shove to be among the 1st when they arrive at it). If one follows the cow rotation (the appropriate number of hours later, was it 36 ?) with chickens, who eat the maggots & spread the manure, that would greatly help reduce/comtrol fly numbers over time, too ( right ? I mean, I've been on land where no cattle had been for some years & the horse flies wouldn't leave me be..). .

    What good does it do when animals spread grass seed, if you can't grow healthy food in the manure-tainted soil? It's far better to have more water-retentive trees and plant-based crops in the fields, than herds of cattle and polluted- grass deserts.
