The theater near me plays a Ghibli movie every month. I saw there for the first time. It was a great experience. Having missed a lot of Ghibli films growing up it was great to see them at the theater.
Nice! I wish Studio Ghibli movies would air on TV here but sadly I've never seen one except maybe Totoro once but honestly I'm not even sure about that one.
Just watched this movie and absolutely loved it. It has such a perfect cohesion with its writing, characters, adventure, themes, beautiful artwork and music. This is the kind of movie Disney desperately attempts to emulate but never lands. I would recommend checking out Redline (2009) and Perfect Blue (1997)
Just watched this movie a few days ago myself, totally agree the score was incredible and the whole story felt very magical, especially when they finally got to the remains of Laputa. Great reaction video!
I grew up with this movie. If you ever watch the English Dub there are 2 versions. The newer Disney dub and the older but rarer to find Streamline dub.
@@TheGeekheads One of the great things about anime is that they have very different sensibilities compared to the western world, and they remain true to what they are. They do not pander and put the story and the art above everything else. It's a refreshing change of paste from what is currently being churned out by many western studios.
That's true. I feel like a lot of western studios focus on franchises and sequels and trilogies etc. Like mcu or star wars or dceu. Artistic movies seem to be a rare breed these days.
I think people who watch these studio ghibli movies in sub are just the biggest weebs ever, the dub is good, stop pretending you know what good voice acting sounds like in a language you dont speak
Some of us just like to watch the movies the way they were originally made🤷🏼♂️ I also do speak a little Japanese. Why do you take it so personally and care so much about how other people like to watch movies?
It's so crazy that this is an anime from 38 years ago.
Tell me about it, it holds so well!

That sounds great! Wish they'd show studio Ghibli movies in theaters over here.
This movie gets aired every 1-3 years in Japan and "Balus" trends on Twitter when the two say it.

I'd argue there's a few Disney animations that comes at least close (mainly my all time favorite Lion King) but yeah, this movie is beautifully made.
This anime was made 36 years ago, but it doesn't fade like great songs and masterpieces.
That's true this holds up extremely well! Was one of my favorites for sure :)

Thanks! This is one of the movies that I want to rewatch the most😄

Thanks for letting me know, maybe I'll watch it dubbed when I rewatch this again :)
Fun fact: laputa in spanish is literaly "the bitch"
Yeah I did my best to not hear it that way when watching the movie lol
It's my favourite movie of all time.
Thank you for that reaction, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it.😊
And thank you for watching!
Mark Hamill is the voice that wants the stone.
This one has a good English dub too! Mark Hamill as the bad guy.
Alright maybe when I'm rewatching this I'll check the dubbed version :)
NICE REACTION!
I LOVE STUDIO GHIBLI!
THANKS! I'm starting to feel the same weirdly enough as I never really cared about anime before, now I realize I've been missing out.

Wow really? That's dope, he was a great guy as far as I know from reading about him!
@@TheGeekheads ya, he had his faults but he impacted history greatly. I inherited his asthma😫.
