Just got mine few days ago. It is perfect for beginners like me especially the mode button, and since I am android user i can't use the 4k 60fps in the zy cami apps. But i can use the native camera to shoot 4k 60fps and 8k 30fps and still can switch the mode without tapping the phone just the gimbal. And also you can connect the Bluetooth even if you are not using the zy cami apps you can also start recording or zooming by gimbal buttons in the native camera
Great video, I purchased a ZSQ3, but I sent it back, it was not smooth and the images were choppy when filming, I purchased a OM4, the quality is night a new day better and is much smoother when filming and feels more premium in the hand.
My Q3 came in a cardboard box, no case. The Q3 is horrible because it tends to tilt down or somewhat want to spin, when walking and recording. The Smooth Q, I never had issues.
I got the Smooth Q 3 and like it a lot. The battery is great. However my iPhone SE 2nd generation battery doesn’t last as long. I put it on standby when not using and it still uses power. What kind of battery back up can I get AND plug in while using the Q 3? Any other hints are welcomed. Shutting off the Q 3 helps but it’s a pain to open and close all the time. Thats a tough one.. adding cables to a gimbal setup will always lead to shaky and unstable footage.. unfortunately I cannot give you a good hint here.. sorry! Charge it whilst it‘s not on a gimbal.. or consider upgrading your phone sooner or later
Totally agree, app is lousy and very much bothered me all the info they require (especially since a Chinese company) The Dolly Zoom effect was one of the main reason I upgraded from my original SmoothQ but that effect is not smooth which means it’s not useable. Great video Thnks

The app won't let me create an account and tried to do the online thing and the files they send you got flagged by Windows for possible danger. It was beautiful for 3 weeks, hate to see it go as I got attached to it, but I seem to be not allowed to use it.
This whole gimbal topic is pretty new to me. Are you saying that you can use the gimbal without downloading the app? It sounds like a pretty cool gimbal but I don't want to hand over any personal information to activate it.

Very informative video. Will zhiyun ever release the smooth 5? The Filmic pro integration and especially the focus wheel was a game changer. Hopefully they'll be able to make it with a better payload capacity!

The zhiyun smooth 4 had a zoom/focus wheel and could be integrated with Filmic pro. I was wondering if they would go ahead and release a newer version.
My Q3 have a 2° horizontal level tilt. It's annoying! My multiple tries to calibrate gimbal via standard ZY Cami App got failed. I bought it for zero degrees mistake in horizontal level but this tilt is a serious bug!!! I am disappointed how gimbal hard turn when following object in horizontal panoraming. It even shake hand. So it is very limited in use..

I was wondering if you had same or similar issue with on iPhone 12 pro. And another issue I would like to find out if the device making any noise especially moving it fast or when you shake it. I observed couple of things and will be grateful if anyone advise its normal. Upon moving through all the modes when I reach last one which is pov and spin shot mode I see slight tilting movement of phone when moving to pov mode and spinshot mode. Also in spinshot mode when i place the phone in gimbal at extreme end of rotations I see back and forth small movements in the gimbal, very slight but noticeable, I thought it could be bcos its a mechanical stop end and gimbal is trying to compensate for movements etc but I sill want to be sure if it is a normal thing. I use iphone 12 pro max with zihyun app and not been able to take a panaromic shot which is done of whole grid rest all pano shots work fine, I get message that it is failed to generate pano shot after it tried to process it. Can any one advise me if this is common with all q3
What about the clamp? I don’t want to remove the case from my iPhone 12 Pro Max every time I use the gimbal. The last one I tried did not hold phone plus case securely. Will this one?

Nope, it is for smartphone. You can check the Crane M2/M3/M2S/M3. But they are all not support cable control. Only as a stabilizer.

I like this gimbal as well though the moment 18mm lens is too heavy for this gimbal and I have yet to find a counterweight option for it yet

I would always put the case off the phone when using a gimbal. they are not designed to hold a phone within a case

zooming on a smartphone is never a good idea, because you will always zoom digitally.. which will make the quality worse.

Q3 with Non-detachable Fill Light, Q4 with Magnetic Fill Light, Smooth-Q4 with the extension rod.

The 12 pro max with case is just too big and heavy for gimbals.. when shooting on a gimbal don‘t use any cases and make sure to get a perfect balance

It is the angle restriction. Smooth 5/5S with no this problem.
