i walked out of my work to the parking lot. Apparently i was awkward staring at a guy walking in, he said hi, i said hi. I had to justify my stares by saying you look like this guy I watch on youtube and he just laughed. You have a dopleganger in Alberta ;) Love your videos!
I thought Florida was the only state with 2 seasons....HOT and kinda hot😅. Oregon is a beautiful state....I stayed there years ago and that's where I fell in love with nature. Sunsets and sunrises in the mountains are absolutely beautiful.
@@boringoldguy796 I don't blame you. I would move there but my wife doesn't want to move to a place that is really cold during the winters as she is already anemic. We did agree in a middle ground which would be around the Carolinas which we are really considering moving to in a couple years. We have visited there several times since her sister lives there and we both fell in love with the area especially when she experienced what autumn is really like with the change of colors and weather.
Wow 😮 that place is so pretty! First night sunset was stunning with the changing landscape as the sun set! Loved the knowledge of the area and the different trees , pretty crazy about the big fire in 02 that went through and to see the map and just how uninhabited a lot of that was is pretty crazy! Lovely hike and great shots! Sorry the trails didn’t lead to much but it was still an experience ❤ Loved that it felt like I was there enjoying it with you and summit 🎉❤ Great to see after the last few months of up and down you get to see these places and share them. Thank you so much! You are neither boring nor old ❤ just wonderful to bring us all along with you xx Keep well my dearest friend xxx
Thank you for sharing nature and wilderness around you! It is just mesmerizing ❤ I’ve been living in Dubai for 12 years. I miss the green specially in the summer time here 🥵
Lovely videos, adorable dog :) You might have felt disappointed not reaching the destination, but I loved the views and the ridgelines and was not at all disappointed. Thank you for sharing them and the naturalist background info. A minor suggestion you are probably totally aware of already, but especially for lesser known nature areas (or deep wilderness areas of popular natural parks), the best guide is usually a park ranger and they are almost always happy to talk about the lesser known gems of the area that are easily missed. Growing up camping with my father he would always start up a conversation with the rangers and have long and to my young self, embarrassing (in the time honored way dads do), conversations about our hiking and camping plans. Their information about hikes, route closures, lesser known gems of the area, etc. made our trips what I think back on so fondly. I'm sure you know this, I guess I wanted to reminisce a little bit, your videos make me think back fondly of those old family camping trips growing up. Thanks for the sharing the views of the beautiful Kalmiopsis Wilderness Area (holy ridgelines!), and the adorable summit
So glad to see you out making hikes again 🌲 Watching your videos instantly gives me a sense of relaxation. Thanks for putting the effort in and sharing with us!
Thanks for visiting! Have you seen the videos made by Eric Normark? Beautiful nature videos in Sweden. He hasn’t posted anything new for a while but there’s a library of almost 300 vids to enjoy.
Looks to be a rugged wilderness area. The miners had to be rugged people, as well! I agree with sticking to more obvious trails. I also carry a GPS unit so I can retrace my tracks. You may not have reached the lake, but remember... it's not the destination, it's the journey! Thanks for taking us along. 💜
Hello! Ive been sick and not using my phone. Out of the blue I had a thought about Summit. Had to think a minute to recall her name. So glad to see you both!
Welcome back! It seems that I’ve been sick more than well this year 🤣 I’m positive for Covid right now with severe flu-like symptoms so just sitting on my couch in the dark watching movies. I hope you are well on the mend and thank you for watching!❤️🙏💫🐾
Im Turkish. I have lost my lovely grandfather few years ago because of lung canser unfortunately. He had very rich heart and his favorite thing was traveling. If my grandfather wasnt turkish, i think he would be just like you. I love watching your videos. Be safe, god bless you 🙏🏻🩵🤍💕💖
gosh.. grandpa, i really hope you were okay and is still living healthy and sound.. and I was right! i really love your peaceful videos, grandpa. its like a break for me from chaotic internet world and outside world.
Might have been a wise idea, not going down to the marshy area, do you use a compass at all? Does the map you have, have stuff to use to find it? Thanks for the walk and talk, love the videos and views!
Yes, I have a compass. The map I had with me was just too bulky, I need to get a more detailed topo map for the wilderness area. It will be a good investment since I plan to spend a lot more time there 🤗
Do you know about Randal Carlson and Kosmographia podcast? Lots of talk about ancient geology and natural history with some cool theories. You might like it. I see the landscape from different eyes since listening to him.

Yes, rangers can be a wealth of information! I’ve been in Lassen several times but hadn’t started making videos. I’ll get there again, I’m sure!

Best video! I love that you explore the rubbles. Its fun to run across stuff like that on a hike.

Hadn’t heard of it, I’ll check it out 🤗
Are there ever any wild animals that come to investigate when Summit sleeps outside the tent?
Nah, she would start barking and chase them away 😂 Seriously, wild animals are shy and can smell both you and your dog and they stay away
@boringoldguy796 Hahaha I can't picture her chasing them away 😂 That's awesome they don't really bother either of you though
You aren’t boring
TY!
Do you treat Summit against teaks?
Do you have cell service, SatPhone or beacon just in case of emergency?
I have a Garmin mini just in case 🤗
how can i afford this type of living?
Work hard for 50+ years and then retire 😊😂
Why there's only 666 people watching this......
I figure it’s a busy time of year, so the lower views are to be expected. Thanks for watching ❤️
❤️🥰❤️
Thank you for sharing your adventures!
