- We're here today in the beautiful Aztec Zone taking a look at those fiendishly evil 'wooden' spikes that appeared in the #crystalmaze Medieval Zone vignette area.
NB. At 0:19 I meant to say 'bedroom', not 'bathroom.
Your channel is criminally underrated. What an amazing historical resource for one of my favourite TV shows ever. You deserve way more subs and views. 😃

I went gliding as a teenager at North Weald and having noted that was where the studio was from the show credits, made it my business to seek it out. I was dissapointed to just see a bunch of planes under restoration in the front of a dark hanger. Fortunately a plane restorer was there and very kindly went to find the light switches for me and then allowed me to roam free in the set which suddenly appeared. It was brilliant, I loved it and took a gold token from the dome as a souvenir. So thanks to the plane restorer man for being so kind.
Wow. You lucky,lucky person. I did actually win a competition to visit the set during filming but it never happened because the show got cancelled later that year. I'm hoping to go down there one day,just to get some exterior shots (I know it's only the hanger now). Fabulous story....thanks for sharing.

Did you ever manage to get hold of one of the original series 'I cracked the crystal maze' contestant crystals at all Phil? I'd imagine those are the holy grail of memorabilia though almost impossible to get a hold of.
Hi Rogie. Unfortunately not. A couple did pop up on eBay a couple of years ago (people struggling financially), but I didn't have the money at the time. My mate Neil has got one & has a quick review over on his channel. Check out Crystal Mazer

Firstly, I like your first Channel 4 logo shirt. So the Medieval zone was replaced by an Eastern me as perhaps the Medieval zone was far too scary especially with those wolves howling and perhaps the reason why Ocean replaced the Industrial zone was I think the Industrial zone was a bit scruffy.
Thank you. Yes the t-shirt is fab. I love it too. Not just the wolves in Medieval but also the ghosts that roam the medieval castle made it a scary place to be too.
Yes.....I think the industrial zone was a bit too cold, scruffy & plain looking so they replaced it with a beautiful ocean liner - The SS Atlantis. I must say though, being on the set there's a lot of small detail in the Industrial Zone which made me like it quite a bit more.
@@philnewton-england7795 It sure needed some heating did the Industrial Zone as I wish my dad did sort it out as he’s a retired plumber and he always thinks he’s Ted Glen from Postman Pat as my dad and I have a joke about Ted.
